After the escape pods had landed there was a lot to organize for
everyone and Mimi hadn't had time to think about much. Her brain had
been stuck on autopilot, but in this suddenly quiet moment her
thoughts went to the extremes. There were still crew members that she
hadn't seen and others that had been bandaged and waiting for doctors
to look at them.
Since landing on the planet Gustav hasn't stop repairing essential
equipment that had been damaged during the landings, this was the
first chance for him to get away by himself in about 36 hours, he had
planned on getting something to eat and some sleep but he couldn't
sleep the events that occurred onboard the chimera kept on playing on
his mind, could he have done more to save the ship, could he have
placed the repair teams better, but one of the main things on his mind
was is Mimi alright, even though he had only known her for a few
months he was very worried about her especially since he hadn't seen
her since before the Chimera had left Charos system.
Mimi spun in a slow circle not knowing exactly what she was looking
for. She took in the mountain range in the distance. The green grass,
the trees with leaves of varying shades and she squinted against the
brightness of the sun as she noticed Martin and Rachel chasing what
appeared to be a butterfly near to where rick seemed to be working.
She walked without direction, but managed to find a large rock to sit
on just inside the tree line of what seemed to be a forest. She sat
down in an isolated area. {How Many died .... and who ..... I haven't
seen...} She willed herself not to think about such things as tears
rolled silently sown her cheeks.
Walking around the camp Gustav saw two children playing in the
distance, he remembered Mimi saying she helped look after Rick's
little girl so he figured that if there was any place to find Mimi it
would be near the kids.
As he approached the children Gustav kept looking around for Mimi, he
then spotted someone that looked like her sitting alone on top of a
rock with her back to him, as he approached the lone figure Gustav
realised it was Mimi, she didn't hear him approach, when he was close
Gustav said in a gentle voice "A pretty young lady shouldn't be
sitting alone".
Startled Mimi spun around on her perch, as she swiped a hand across
her cheeks to hide her tears. {Gustav!} She lost her balance about the
same time that she decided that she needed a hug from the man before
her.
Gustav reached out and caught Mini before she fell and held her close
to himself "are you alright Mimi.......I was worried about you" he
said wanting nothing more than to comfort her.
"I'm fi.... I was worried and scared.... and I think I did a horrible
job and..." she stopped and took a deep breath, "Will you just....give
me a hug?"
Gustav didn't say a word he just put his arms around Mimi and held her
in the hug she needed.
After a few minutes Gustav broke the embrace and while gently cupping
on of Mimi's cheeks in his hand he leaned in and kissed her softly on
her tender lips.
She was almost as surprised by his kiss as she was the fact that she
didn't move away. She seemed to melt into him a bit more. "Mimi......
Mimi..." Rachel began to yell.
"Rachel....I don't think he's hurting her," Martin replied with the
assurance of an older man. Rachel nodded and they ran off in the other
direction.
Breaking off from the kiss Gustav couldn't help but have a little
giggle to himself after hearing that the little girl thought he was
hurting Mimi.
"Would you like something to eat" Gustav asked "it won't be as great
as the date I had planned for us but I'm sure we could make do" he
added.
"I think I would ... yes," she smiled at him. "Gustav... just seeing
you has been great. I was .afra...never mind," she finished.
Walking to the mess tent with his arm around Mimi Gustav replied "Me to".
