Jade pushed a few buttons and all of the information they were looking at
popped up on the table top, but she put the communication probe on the
holo-emitter, so that they could get a 3D view of it, "alright to get
that cycling program up and running we first need to get the other
ships of the fleet on this plan. And do that this communication probe
is the answer." Jade said looking at the rotating communication probe
looking for a way to get it to help the situation.

**** End Snippet ****

"I just thought of another problem we might have with the probe."
Elsworth said, "even if we do get a probe out there it would be shot
down or at least they'll try and shoot down." Elsworth said looking at
the probe, "plus it would take to long to established a shield to the
probe to protect it." Elsworth said finishing up.

"Alright I'll take these considerations to the Commander and see what
he has to say." Jade said picking up the tablet with all of there
ideas and problems that will come with the idea. She then headed to
the Commanders office once at the door she hit the chime to signify
that there was someone outside of his door.

"Enter" Lernen called. His usual scowl deepened when he saw who it
was. "What do you have to report Leftenant? Good news I assume." He
took the padd that she silently offered and examined it taking in all
the details on it. "Cyclical jamming patterns, haven't seen that
little tactic since 2383." He muttered to himself. "So Leftenant what
would be your preference to deal with the situation?"

"Will we were thinking of using a communication probe to transfer a
message, but the problem that comes with that is that it offers
something else for the Romulans to shoot at and to be honest it won't
last a second out there." Jade said, "the other idea was an EM field
something that could bring down the jamming signals, but it would also
cause havoc on any ships in the area which would be good if they were
all Romulan, but we know that's not going to be the case every time."
Jade said she took a breath going on to her last and final idea to get
this plan out to the other Federation ships.

"I remember reading somewhere that durning one of the great wars of
old Earth they used something called morse code either with sound or
lights it would allow them to communicate with each other without
speaking and I doubt the Romulans know about it, so they wouldn't be
able to know what we're saying. The main problem I see with this is
getting every Federation ship to see the morse code and then also if
they know what it even means." Jade knowing that this idea is way out
there, but knowing that she was in an Intelligence department this
might be the sanest idea they've heard in awhile.

"The Crimean War was the first war it was used in if I recall
correctly. Okay use the running lights on the ship to signal with the
Morse Code. It ought to be antiquated enough that the Romulans can't
figure it out and I'm sure Stewart on the Manticore should be smart
enough to figure it out maybe Vornel on the Ghandi should too, as for
the D'Artangan and the other remaining ships I don't know the Captains
well enough to say." Lernen frowned. "Good work Leftenant, that
cyclical jamming took the SIGINT boys 25 years ago weeks to puzzle
out. I'll pull the authorisation to use the running lights you go and
prepare the message."

"Thank you Commander." Jade said turning and heading out of the office
letting out a breath glad that the Commander didn't think she was
completely crazy with her ideas. She made it back to the table where
she left Elsworth and Grimsborne, "alright the Commander liked the
idea of the cyclical communications." Jade said, "good work Elsworth."
Jade said giving the Specialist a smile.

"Thank you, but how are we going to get the first message out?" Elsworth asked.

Jade took a seat and tapped a few buttons and it brought up a list of
dashes and dots paired up with letters and symbols, "we'll be using a
lost art called morse code it uses a combination of dots and dashes to
spells things out which means we need to come up with a very simple,
but to also make it make sense and make sure it gives them all the
information they need." Jade said just smiling at the looks on there
face.

"Is anyone going know what it means?" Grimsborne asked sounding
spectacle that this plan will work.

"Will the Commander believes so." Jade said, "so we need to get the
message done while the Commander gets permission for us to use the
running lights to send the message." Jade said.
