[USS Chimera] SD240811.15 , Personal log, Cmdr. Terek Weranis CSCiO

==================== SS BRAGG ====================

It was a bit of a shock to learn about whereabouts of the Chimera and
its crew. Terek never realized how much he was cut off the latest news
about war and its outcomes. On Valaris, they only had scarce reports now
and then when one of the cargo runs has arrived from its journey. And
almost everytime, the news were local. Only sometimes the ppilot learned
something of a greater importance and shared it with the rest of the
base crew.

Now that Terek made it to the SS Bragg to learn if there is some way he
can get a ship going to the coordinates of the taskforce station, he was
more than uneasy. He officialy asked for the leave of absence before all
this started and once he got to Valaris and the war broke out, he lost
contact with the outer world. So now, when the orders finally caught up
with him, he knew that really unpleasant talk with some SSF high rank
will take place. And he wasn't mistaken. For two hours he's been
interrogated upon his whereabouts and actions during his LOA.

It wasn't easy to explain, but eventually he was able to do so and
finally got his flight plan to starbase 234. The bad thing was that it
took him almost a week to get there passing through four one of the most
forgotten outposts. But finally the last shuttle was almost there.

"Dropping out of warp."
reported the pilot. A skinny guy with a bit empty look. When Terek saw
him on the last station he thought that the flight might be even worse
than him being at the helm, but he turned out to be much more skilled
than Terek and everything went smooth. Only the pilot and Terek were in
the freighter along with the whole cargo bay filled with spare parts and
medical equipment. The pilot, who introduced himself as Benny
Fitzpatrick said that large requisition order came a few days ago from
the base and that Terek was lucky to catch him on his return journey for
the public traffic this direction was scarce.

"Recieving docking vector."

Terek sat himself at the auxiliary station to see the sensor readings
and more importantly to get a better glimpse out of the viewport. As the
starbase slowly floated in the view they both could admire the size of
the structure. Clean lines of the central core that smoothly shifted
into the engineering section and all of it surrounded by the docking
ring and adjacent facilities. And everywhere were smalll shuttles and
workbees.

"Looks like it's under construction."

"Yep, it's being overhauled...
Docking in one minute."

added Benny glancing quickly at the monitors.

"I'll go get mu bag." said Terek and disappeared in the rear section to
find his stuff.

Few minutes after that he whished Benny safe journey back and passed
through the airlock.
