======= Conference longue three, SB 234: UNITY
======

Shane placed a small can of black tea on the table and
arranged the two tea cups. Several sorts of butter biscuits
were assorted nearby and this was crowned with a little pile
of real apples – send directly from Earth.

All those preparations were made for the coming guest, who
was none else then the commanding officer of 12th fleet that
was send here by Starfleet command to take some of the
fronts and ease the pressure on Special forces around SB
234. Shane was very glad when DuPont informed him about the
incoming Starfleet forces and hoped that this would allow
his own Task Force ships and personnel to get some hard
earned rest.

Relation between high ranking officers from regular fleet
and special forces were never 'warm', so Shane decided
to learn from Captain Picard when he was to welcome Admiral
Necajev on the Enterprise. Shane too … did his best to
create an atmosphere of cooperation and trust.

The fleet arrived at UNITY 5 minutes ago and his aide
informed him that the Admiral was on his way. The fleet
consisted of 50 ships and was more then capable to defend
alpha and beta fronts, while gamma and delta would remain in
SSF hands. This would give Shane enough resources for
recalling some 10 ships to the UNITY for a week's break
from war and death.

For a moment his mind trailed off to Lernen's death. The
reasons and motives of his murder were still unknown and
until the Klingon envoy will not hand the murderer over to
security, they would not learn anything. Shane had still no
replacements for the two open security positions – CSEC
and Security advisor, nor for Lernen's position of Intel
advisor. Maybe when those 10 ships will dock for R&R, Shane
could pick someone from their crew.

Thinking about crews … Chimera just reported about a
victorious battle and solving the listening post mission.
Cropa had still to submit a full report, but at least the
Chim was safe on her way to UNITY.

Ohmsford reported the status of the abandoned shipyard and
stated that soon it will be in a shape to be towed.
Obviously was Rick Rodgers on a hunt after an relict vessel
from the shipyard that was abandoned together with the yard.
It will most probable turn to be a heap of worthless junk,
but he was still waiting for Rick's report.

====== 5 minutes later =====

Finally, the door hissed open and a tall man in a Rear
admiral uniform walked in. Shane beamed a smile at the man
and offered a hand for shake. "Welcome Admiral INSERT NAME
HERE AS I DON'T REMEMBER" he said …

====== RELOADED ======

Finally, the door hissed open and a tall man in a Rear
admiral uniform walked in. Shane beamed a smile at the man
and offered a hand for shake. "Welcome Admiral LaGrand"

"Commodore Guzman" replied LaGrand, "I have to say
that I am NOT impressed by your forces"
