=Tarangor/Aeran Shipyard=

Rick sat at his desk, tapping his fingers on its smooth surface
impatiently. He had been trying to contact someone at starfleet
about the recent supply problem for the past several hours. It
was late, and he would rather be home with Mai and Rachel
having a nice dinner instead of being given the runaround by a
bunch of desk jockeys.
It was getting late. Or perhaps it was already late. He had lost
track.
As he rubbed his eyes, an image appeared on the computer
screen in front of him. Rick didn't even notice.
"Commander Rodgers?"
Rick's eyes shot to the screen in a bit of a surprise.
"Yeah ... yes."
"Commander, I'm Commander Lance Mackey. I'm in charge
of distribution of materials to shipyards in the quadrant. I've
been told you've been trying to get in touch with me."
'FINALLY!' Rick thought.
"Yes, commander, I have," Rick said.
"How can I help?"
"I need new shipment sent here, that how you help," Rick said.
"Tarangor/Aeran Shipyard. Is that correct?"
"Yes, that correct."
"We've already sent out a shipment a couple of days ago,"
Mackey replied.
"I know, but shipment was destroyed by Romulan raiding
party."
"I know, but there is nothing I can do about that. And as I
told Commander Utley, the next shipment will not be ready
for at least four weeks."
"At least four weeks? She said three to four weeks."
"At the time, that was the plan. But things change, so does
demand," Mackey said.
"Demand?"
"We have to distribute materials to shipyards throughout
Federation space. Other shipyards build bigger ships and
have the need for more materials. They also have the
priority."
"Wait? You saying since we not make big ships, then we
have to wait even longer?" Rick was getting angry at this
point.
"The ships those facilities create are more critical to the
war effort than a few fighters," Mackey responded.
"Commander, if I not get a new shipment soon, then I have
to shut down production within week. Since we just started
production, I not to happy about idea of shutting down so
soon."
"I'm sorry, commander. But we did what we could for the
time being. And we have our priorities."
"How about half of that shipment in the next couple of
weeks," Rick suggested. "Anything to help keep this
shipyard operational."
"I ... I don't know. We try not to send out any cargo until
we have enough to justify the effort."
"What the HELL that suppose to mean?" Rick shouted.
"Commander ..."
Rick interrupted.
"Commander, I could have Admiral Jefferson on line in
the next couple of minutes. And he could have Janeway on
line shortly after that. Is that necessary?"
Rick was bluffing. Sure, he knew Jefferson, but he doubted
the JDC Deputy CO would do anything about Rick's current
situation.
There was a long pause as Rick became a little nervous.
"I'll see what I can do, but I can make no promises," Mackey
finally said.
"Anything you give us would be big help."
"I'll let you know in a day or so. Mackey out."
The image disappeared, replaced by a logo. Rick shut off the
computer, knowing that he did all he could today. So, he
decided to call it a night.
