[USS Chimera] SD 240904.09 || Senior Staff Briefing ||

[Conference Room - Deck One - USS Chimera NCC96899-C]

Anya walked into the room unsurprised to be the first one there.  Due to a call earlier she already knew quite a bit about what was going to be announced as well as moving a little ahead of the curve with her own departments preparation.  She had also brought along a few other pieces of information which could prove useful as well.  She replicated herself a cup of strong coffee and took a seat to await everyone else.

"Captain Xerxes," Natalia greeted Anya as she entered the conference room a few minutes later, carrying a padd containing the mission info. "How are you doing today?"
"Good enough Commander although having already been given some information on today's mission from another source I'd have to say there are easier ways of committing suicide but I'll point out my ideas when everybody is here."  Anya replied evenly.

Jade walked into the conference room nodding to few officers she then noticed Captain Xerxes, "Captain." Jade said walking over and taking a seat in the middle on the right side of the table. She then logged onto to her tablet, so she could look over the sensor and weapons diagnostics.

Gustav slipped into the room quietly and quickly took his seatslightly nervous about being in one room with all the senior staff, the most he's ever need to deal with at one time before was two. Hewas asked by his CO to sit in on this briefing for him as it would be"good experience".

Tommy walked into the room and nodded to the other officers there. He chose a seat and sat down, then began to pull out datapadds.

Captain Rojac entered the room and quickly strode to the end of the table, placing his stack of padds on the table top. "Good evening, everyone. Sorry for another shortened R&R, but Starfleet Intelligence and Fort Bragg have found an errand for us to run." He nodded to Commander Trzetrzelewska, giving her the signal to pass around the files he sent her earlier. "Commander Trzetrzelewska is passing around the notes for our upcoming mission, where we will be subordinate to Commander Ohmsford's command. Commodore Guzman has given him command of this mission because of it's vital diplomatic importance."

"As you see in your briefings, SFI sources tracked a clandestine transmission from the sensor outpost in our last mission to three different locations. The first two led to dead-ends and the last into Erassian Space - where Starfleet vessels have been denied access." His gaze settled on Captain Xerxes for a moment. "I don't blame our Erassian friends. I hardly trust the agency myself."

A nervous laughter murmured throughout the room.

"Our mission is to negotiate passage into Erassian Territory, and complete the investigation into the third location." Rojac continued. "We're working with three different ships: the Magellan, the Eagle, and the Rapier. But as the flagship of the Taskforce, we have to set the pace of the mission. I'm expecting you all to take leadership roles in your dealings with the other ship departments."

"Now, on to business..." Rojac said as he took his seat. "We're fresh back from break. How is our ship holding up? Reports?"

"Fighter munitions have been replenished, maintenance on the fighters is completed and only one minor disciplinary action during shore leave left to action.  One of Unity's Heavy Bomber pilots got a little too hands on when chatting up one of my pilots so she knocked him out.  I've already put in place a few preperations for the mission ahead as I already received a call from a certain annoyed Ambassador asking me to use my many years of wisdom to prevent a catastrophe but I can get into that in the briefing proper." Anya said noting who looked unamused at her pilot's shore leave antics.

Rojac nodded. "Well, I can not say I blame your pilot for her actions, as they were obviously in self-defense. Who's next?"

When both the CO and the XO's gaze unexpectedly fell on him, Alexander quickly sat up straight in his chair and cleared his throat. "Evening everyone, I'm Dr Rice, the new Acting Chief Medical Officer," he introduced himself. "Sickbay has seen quite a few new transfers into the department, including myself, but we are ready. We've already started the next round of physical check-ups and things are going smoothly."

"All supplies have been replenished we're finishing up some diagnostics on the sensors and weapons systems those should be done within the hour." Jade said tapping her tablet to refresh it. "But all other systems are a go." Jade said smiling, glad that most of the things that needed adjusting happened within the first week of being back to UNITY.

Tommy spoke next. "Sirs, Security is all set to go with one minor change. I asked Chief Johnson to stay back on Unity. My apologies for bringing this up just now, but i was assured that the Commodore's office would inform you.  We have gotten full supply and  are ready to rock."
"Well, I speak for both Commander Trzetrzelewska and myself when I say thank you for getting everything back together in such short notice, everyone." Rojac interlaced his fingers atop the table in front of him. "For our next assignment: I've had Lieutenant Rayna set a course to the edge of the Federation Erassian border along the edge of the ---"

"Erass System which is a denied territory guarded by the First Fleet who will not hesitate to kill us all if we push into where we don't belong.  Our best chance of success lies in negotiating with General Ivanov and the Second Fleet who are currently stationed within the Grand Banks nebula near the Eaglin Straights.  Problem is we can't call them to come out we have to go in to them.  After we arrive at the new set of coordinates for the entry into the nebula I can get a hold of updated navigation data for the straights through the Grand Banks but it will come at a price."  Anya interruped before the plans could go too far down the wrong path.

Rojac nodded. "Very well, it is Erassian territory we are trying to enter, so we should probably meet on their terms. At the conclusion of this meeting I will notify Commander Ohmsford of the change." He cleared his throat to continue, "So, we'll set course for the Grand Banks then, and rendezvous with an Erassian delegation there. I need you all to be on your best behavior. There will be no diplomatic 'incidents' from my crew."

Anya hid a smile behind her cup of coffee.  {Somehow I'm not convinced it'll be the crew of any of the ships who would be the most likely to cause incident.}

"Captain Reese, we will be working in tandem with a task group on this mission. As the flagship, we will be the command center for the group and will need to maintain communications contact. You've been working on a communications system lately, see if you can adapt it to work between the Chimera and the other vessels on an encrypted channel." Rojac said to his Chief Operations officer.
Jade nodded the communication that she has been working on may and may not work in this situation, but she'll have something up and running hopefully by the time they arrive at the rendezvous point.

"Lieutenant Kroitzer, see what help engineering can offer Captain Reese as she installs her communications system. You may need to offer a tutorial to the other ships' CEOs." Rojac said.

Gustav although listening intently to the rest of the briefing he didn't expect to hear his name so when it was said all he could reply with was "Aye sir".

"Lieutenant Jardan, I have two things for you. As the flagship's security chief you will be in charge of the away team's security when we arrive at the rendezvous point. That's thing one. Thing two: I received word fifteen minutes ago that Ambassador Ayanami will be joining us aboard on our mission. She will need a security detail and escort while she is aboard the Chimera. Make sure she is shown the upmost in hospitality," the Captain ordered.

"Everything will be taken care of sir." Tommy nodded at the captain. ( This should be easy.)

"Commander," Rojac looked over to his XO, "do you have anything to add?"

"No sir." She replied.

Rojac stood and glanced at his chronometer. "The Rapier, Magellan, and Eagle are scheduled to meet us here in half an hour for a quick CO briefing. After that, I want all alpha shift personnel on duty at 0500 tomorrow morning for departure to the Grand Banks for rendezvous at 1100." He pulled down at the edge of his jacket for a moment. "You are dismissed."
