Anya allowed Bren to wonder off back to his Unity Quarters to seek
some rest there before increasing her pace and catching up to the only
mildly ahead Leftenant Kroitzer. "So Kroitzer you going to tell me
exactly what happened in that bar or do I have to offer a greasy fried
egg roll?"

Still feeling the pain in his head Gustav looked back at the Major
"The egg sounds horrific but a bacon roll would probably help, then
I'll tell you what I remember Sir" he said.

Anya rapped him across the head with the padd hard enough to hurt even
without his hangover. "I've told you before you address me by rank.
I was also aware of your hatred of egg so it wasn't an offer it was an
ultimatum. I'm going to give you one more chance to tell me what
happened in that bar or my instructions are to stick you in Chimera's
brig until the new Chief of Security wants to train his department in
interrogation techniques. So your choice is clear honesty now or
stress positions and white noise...your choice."

"Honestly I'm not 100% sure on what happened Major but I will tell you
what I remember" he explained before telling Anya what he could
recall.

"Cmdr Ohmsford and myself where drinking quite heavily, having a good
laugh when I remember getting pushed from behind spilling my drink
over myself and the bar tender, I turned around and some things were
said, not to sure what and after that it sort of gets fuzzy" Gustav

"Cmdr Ohmsford and myself where drinking quite heavily, having a good
laugh when I remember getting pushed from behind spilling my drink
over myself and the bar tender, I turned around and some things were
said, not to sure what and after that it sort of gets fuzzy, but I do
remember the guy that pushed me was a pilot" Gustav said still feeling
the PADD's sting.

"Chickenshit bomber pilot, I know. Unfortunately for you were seen to
be the one who threw the first punch...or to be precise you head
butted the pilot after he squared up to you. Its one thing to get
involved in a barroom brawl it's another to start one. The brawl
itself will already go on your record and if you're extremely lucky
that nosy bureaucrat Mumacik won't manage to get the bar owners to
talk. Now me personally, I have no issue if you want to walk away
from a fight or if you wait outside and kick the shit out of the guy
in a dark alleyway. The important thing is don't bloody get caught. I
don't want to have to spring you from the joint and you
can bet your ass neither does the XO or Captain, understand?" Anya said.

"Normally I would have walked away Major, I don't know why I didn't on
this occasion, but I can tell you I don't want the embarrassment of
being in the brig … or a hangover as bad as this again" he said with a
weak smile.

"It's almost ironic as a Marine I'm supposed to be the muscle head and
you the Academy trained officer are supposed to be the shining beacon
of civilization and the great white hope of the Federation. Well
never mind let's go and get a drink. The CO's busy so that means the
next missions in the works so better drink up now because you won't
get another chance." Anya said shaking her head.

The thought of drinking more didn't appeal to Gustav very much but he
was willing to try the 'hair of the dog' and he wasn't up for refusing
Xerxes invitation to a drink so he agreed and followed her to the Riot
Bar

"You should enjoy this bar. Good music played loud and plenty of
cheap booze. Back to the agenda though I understand you have some of
my ASM ready for field testing?" Anya asked.

Gustav looked at Anya strangely then realised what she meant by ASM,
he also remembered that on an earlier encounter the Major told him to
call her Anya while off duty.

"I actually have all but one of your warp burst missiles ready Anya,
the last one will be finished… shortly".

"I wondered what engine design type you were going for. Flash
missiles are definitely good for the anti-ship role with a high hit
rate though accuracy does tend to suffer. As long as they can deliver
a large payload and meet the required standards, after initial field
tests I can request they be put into mass production. Just do me a
favour and don't breach the last one and blow up the ship." Anya said
with a wicked grin.

Gustav's look was clear to everyone "You heard then".

"Naturally, a breach incident isn't something you can keep quiet or
just brush under the carpet. Not to mention I make it my business to
know what's going on. No more passing it off to juniors then." Anya
said.

"Well I wouldn't worry, I'll finish it myself, as for the engine
design I'm using what is basically a modernised and miniaturized
version of the warp design that was in the phoenix, it should be just
slow enough to up accuracy but fast enough to royally screw those
green blooded bastards" he explained.

"How do you account for the increases in accuracy then and by how
much?" Anya asked expecting a detailed answer.

"Well when you launch the missile it travels at 0.5 of warp for about
1 seconds while it confirms it's target, then bursts straight to about
warp 2.6 hitting it's target before you can blink, in all computer
simulations this slight delay in going to warp increases accuracy by
around 73%" he said brightening up when talking about what he created.

"There's another reason you put a time delay on the missile. It stops
it ripping the wing off when it goes to warp. Increase the gap to 3
seconds and fighters can carry it." Anya replied.

"Ok Anya will do, it would be just a small change to the programming,
oh another thing I added but wasn't in the specs list you gave me was
a self destruct, in the event that the missile should miss it's target
there is a small but quite powerful charge that should destroy the
major components of the missile although there is a delay before it
goes off in the hope that if beamed on board a Romulan ship for intel
it will take some out" Gustav said with a grin.

"A Starfleet Officer with a sense for contingencies? I'd better be
looking out for four men on horseback next. Good work so far Leftenant,
if you're missiles are as good as you say you'll have a comendation in
your repertoire which won't put you to the front of the queue for a
straitjacket." Anya said with another evil grin.
