[USS Chimera] [Titan] SD240908.17 | Duty Log | Easy Company

[Location: Cargo Bay 2]
[Time: Following the Battalion Briefing]

"Alright people, listen up."

The vast chamber of the cargo bay had been filled from wall to wall with fold-out seating, which had been filled to capacity with the soldiers of Easy Company. At the end furthest from the entrance a large portable display had been set up, which now showed a two-dimensional side-view representation of Passada Station. Captain Spiers was standing in front of the display, with each of the platoon leaders standing to his right (as he faced the seated crowd).

"We've got a lot to go over and very little time to do it," Spiers bellowed across the chamber loud enough for all present to hear. The murmurs traveling amongst the crowd quickly fell into silence.

"This, you all know, is Passada station," he began, pointing at the image of the space station. "There are already Klingons and Erassians garrisoned there, though our numbers will be far greater once we arrive. However, it needs to be made very clear this this is to be considered a support operation, and the Klingons have full authority in it's defense."

"Now, moving on, there will be three main objectives set for us to hold," the Captain pulled a PADD out from behind him and tapped it, causing three different locations on the display to begin pulsing red. "Charlie Company will be the primary defense of the command decks, Dog Company will reinforce the garrison in the engineering levels, and Fox Company will hold the residential sections."

Spiers tapped another button on his PADD and the display zoomed in towards some of the middle sections of the space station, "Easy Company will hold in reserve here, and will deploy where we're needed."

Taking a deep breath the Company Commander continued, "Now, I've also been informed that General Sharpe himself is going to be accompanying Easy on this mission." As he heard the murmurs once again grow to audible levels he added, "I don't like this any more than any of you do, but I shouldn't have to tell you that his security should be considered priority."

After another brief moment of hesitation he looked at Lieutenant Gavoretti, the forth platoon, "That's why I'm assigning you and your men to the General's security. Wherever he goes, that's where I want your men. First, second, and third platoons will be on standby for immediately deployment, ready to move at a moment's notice. Are there any questions?" Gavoretti was abviously annoyed by the babysitting assignment given to him, but no one voiced any complaints.

"Alright then," Spiers continued, "I have also been informed that the five-oh-first airgroup will also be giving us support in the area surrounding the station. If you see any of them before we deploy, make sure to wish them some luck. The better they do, the less we'll have to do."

"And let them have all the Rommies?!"

At the sound of the shout nearly every head in the cargo bay turned to look for its sourse, but no one seemed to find it. The platoon leaders, including Dick Winters, chuckled at the front of the room. Spiers shook his head as he shouted, "This isn't about racking up kills, people, this is about completing our objective! If that means we don't fire a single shot, so be it! Is that understood?"

"SIR, YES, SIR!" the bay echoed the shout of nearly one hundred-fity marines.

"Very good. Get back to your bunks and get some rest. Dismissed."
