Welcome to all the new crew aboard, we hope you find this little sim a swell one to be apart of. Welcome to the family.
We're moving forward this week. Alpha group and Charlie group need to be deployed by Friday to set up the distraction for the enemy. The Chimera and Beta Group will launch next Monday. If your characters are not in position for deployment yet, do it ASAP, or it will be logged for you.
Business aside, lets get going. Have a good week. (We can beat 54 logs easy.)

Wow, what a week! Literally a plethora of logs that have gone out over
the list last week, well done. The story is picking up now as we
prepare for our next mission, which looks to be a big one.
Congratulations to Rear Admiral Shane Guzman and Major General Richard
Sharpe who both received high level promotions this week. Also quite a
few position changes as people get promoted and switched around to
different posts. You may have seen the Chimera has a new XO, Major
Scott Walters (NPC by Ixus), but this is only IC. I'm afraid you're
stuck with me as the XO of the sim in total for a while yet!
We also welcome a couple of new faces this week as well as an old one,
Cortez, who returns as 1Lt Carlos Castillo, Chimera's new Deputy
Security Chief.
Oh, and new people... please don't sneak contraband weapons onto the
most secure station in the sector during war time. It makes us look
bad and creates a security risk. :)

Unity - Rangi
aboard the Qashqai then Shane was informed of Lievs death
and told Rangi he wanted her and Martin to return to Unity
for safety. She agreed to this on condition that she treated
his injuries first
Anya was able to help Bren and Gustav leave the brigg after
many formalities with Lt Mumacik She and Bren discussed the
weapons and equipment she would need.
Pakossi greeted Richard Sharpe on his arrival at Unity and
told him the Commodore would talk to him on a secure line
later.Richard agreed to have a body guard but did not
appreciate Lt. Mumaciks interest in his collection of
weapons which were promptly confiscated.Richard assured him
that a secure room would be made but rules were rules and
Mumacik won the argument.
Shane spoke to Richard as promised in the conference room,
explaining the recent victory at Padassa. They discussed
mobilising forces and the method of transporting them.Shane
outlined the current situation when Richard questioned the
need for personal security.
Scott was surprised to find Sally Schumann in his office
with a abttered plant and even more surprised when Mercedes
emerged from behind it.Once sally had left, the pair
regained something of their former friendship and agreed to
meet for dinner.
Following the Mission briefing, Richard was escorted to his
office which proved to be luxurious and met his aide Sophie
Daniels. He soon went to the pilots briefing room where he
introduced himself to the assembeld officers.He outlined the
coming mission and the part they would be expected to play.
On her return to Unity, Rangi ended up in Stephen jacobs
office feeling tired and frazzled. His attitude didnt help
when he told her he would not pass her fit for duty and she
must return to see him again when she thought she was.
Bren went to see Rangi in her quarters and asked for news of
Liev. Rangi broke the news that Bren had expected and
dreaded, that Liev was dead.He asked her to accompany him to
Padassa and rangi agreed to go.
At the Shipyards, Rick thought everything was going 'too'
well and told Lara he expected something to go wrong.She
explained that morale was very low due to Chloe Utleys
presence but Rick knew that without proof, he could do
nothing for it would seem like rivalry and an attempt to
regain his old position.
Trent met Natalia and congratulated her on her promotion and
officially handed command of the rapier into her hands.
Richard had only just begun to relax for the night in his
new quarters when he was disturbed by a call from Kathryn
Janeway. She had planned a promotion too and informed
Richard that he was now Major General.
Later Janeway contacted Shane on Padassa promoting him to
rear admiral and telling him to expect a Klingon ambassador.
Rangi returned to Stephens office and was soon given
permission to resume her duties. Stephen likened her to a
horse-shoe nail and after the initial surprise, Rangi
understood his meaning.
Charly Castillo went to the Med Adisors office in search of
a doctor who could help cure the pain in his shoulder.
Rangi, unimpressed by her visitor, pretended she would treat
the injury which miraculously cured itself.
Dare Shao answered a call to meet Richard and learned she
was to be the Platoon leader of a special unit that would
call on her questionable skills.
Jade reece arrived in the infirmary suffering from severe
headaches. Rangi treated her but found a puzzle and told
Jade she would not be leaving on Chimera.
Rangis reason for visiting the infirmary was to see Scott
and propose that he took the recently vacated CMO position
on Chimera. He agreed to take the post but not without
unspoken reservation.
Lt Ian Vaughn took over Jades position and careful of any
potential problems, ran various diagnostics.
Scott arrived onboard Chimera but called Mercedes to cancel
their dinner arrangement. Instead they shared a few minutes
in the departure lounge before Scott had to leave.
Chimera - Ixus
Cropa meets with Natalia and gives her the news of her new position as CO of the Rapier. The new DCSec First Lieutenant Carlos 'Charly' Castillo arrives and makes a first class impression on the first person he meets. The planning session for Chimera's next mission goes smoothly and Operation Magna is born. It comprises of three seperate missions, Alpha Group defending the Station in the Padassa System, Chimera's part (Bravo Group) being to perform a strike on a major Romulan Supply Base deep within Quorum Space and the Erassian led strike on another major supply base in the R'Veras System. The Erassians offer to share stealth armour tech in return for engine improvements and the placement of Major Scott Walters to oversee the installation and operation of the stealth armour. Cropa calls the crew back to the ship on pain of court martial. Cropa meets with his new XO Major Scott Walters and Alecto drops by leaving Scott with no uncertainty of his worth to the Alliance. Cropa keeps himself up to date with the start of the armour installation and runs through the mission outline in his head. First Lieutenant Carlos 'Charly' Castillo continues to make good impressions this time by barging into the 1st Task Force Medical Advisor's Office and demanding a massage. Fresh from Trill with a splitting headache Anya has the fun of trying to secure the release of Bren and Gustav from the meticulous clutches of Mumacik. After springing the drunkards from the stockade Anya makes a request of Bren to develop a few types of warhead for her new Anti-Ship Missile although the target may not be the one Admiral Janeway intended.

- Logging Guidelines

Logging:
The weekly logging deadline is at Midnight (12:00AM/00:00) GMT/UTC (19:00 EST); all logs received after the deadline will be counted for the following week. If you are pressed for time and would like a log to count for the previous week, but it is sent after the deadline, please send an email to the command team when you send the log so that we can make the corrections.
Please remember that all MAJOR plot changes need to be cleared with the command staff before a log goes through! You can do this by sending the command staff (chimera-command@ucip.org ) a log labeled with "Draft" tagged to the subject line. We'll typically let you know if it's approved within 24 to 48 hours, or tell you what might need to be modified before it's sent to the listserv.
When using other characters in your logs, please keep in mind that person's characteristics. Character information can be found on the UCIP website or the USS Chimera website (under CREW - just click on the Star Trek symbol next to the character's name). If you're still unsure how to interact with a character, then privately mail the person
involved, and I'm sure they'll be willing to help.
Conversely, if you feel that your character is being portrayed incorrectly by someone please contact them to try to work out an agreeable solution. Just keep in mind when logging to treat other characters the way you'd like them to treat you - with the respect due to any member of Starfleet who is a specialist in their field.
If you think your log may be going out of bounds, then please ask! If you are having problems finding things to write about or would just like some help with your log, please contact your department head or the command team. Remember, you don't always have to log about things relating to the main plot - logs that develop your character's
personality are encouraged! We're eager to help if you're having trouble; just email the command team (chimera-command@ucip.org).

New Cadets are given two (2) weeks upon joining to observe the sim. After the initial observation period, Cadets and other crew are required to post at least one log per week (unless on excused or on LOA).
Promotion is based upon quality and regularity of logging, among other
factors All promotions after Lieutenant Commander require review and
