"....and yes, I 'will' be glad of a few hours off" Rangi agreed as she
and T'Vel crossed the main reception area on their way off duty.

Natalia was looking for Rojac's office but she had gotten hopelessly
lost in the process. Turning a corner she found herself in front of
two large doors with the Starfleet Medical symbol on them which led
into the brand new Infirmary. She was about to turn around
when the doors opened and Commander Summers exited with Lieutenant T'Vel in tow.

It was obvious that the woman was lost but Rangi and T'Vel both
recognised Chimeras XO as she looked in their direction.

"Miss Trzetrzelewska." Rangi said in welcoming tone." What brings you here?"

"It's good to see you again, Commander," Natalia smiled at the Medical
Advisor and Unity's CMO. "You too, Lieutenant."

"Please excuse me," T'Vel said with a nod and headed back into the Infirmary.

"I'm afraid I got lost," Natalia frowned looking down the corridor. "I
was looking for Commander... I mean Captain Rojac's office and the
computer led me here."

"Did it?" Rangi replied. She frowned too then smiled. " Oh I
understand...we have a Doctor Rhojak here...same
pronunciation..different spelling. I dont think Captain Rojac has been
assigned an office."

"Oh," Natalia said, suddenly understanding. "That would explain it. I
just asked the computer for 'Rojac's office'. I should have been more
specific."

"It's an easy mistake to make." Rangi said.

Now that she was speaking to Rangi, Natalia decided to ask her a
question that had been bothering her for a while. "Commander, I was
wondering if I could ask you about the status of a patient? He's not
technically in the Task Force anymore, but last I heard he was still
being treated in an SSF facility."

"Of course." Rangi replied, a little intrigued by Natalia's rather
self conscious attitude.
"Which patient do you want to enquire about?" she asked.

"Lieutenant Lakqost," Natalia said, speaking a little softer.

"Right...errr...he's not on the base but I can find out how's he
doing.Please come with me."
She turned back to the wide Main Doors, indicating that Natalia might
like to follow her.

Natalia nodded and followed Rangi. She had really wanted to find out
sooner what had happened to the Chimera's former security officer, but
being away and under comms restrictions didn't help much. Besides,
she'd had to work up the courage first to ask. Exactly why she was so
self-conscious about asking for his whereabouts still eluded her.

Rangi led the way back into the infirmary, turned left along the first
corridor, aknowledged people she passed and turning to Natalia said :
"It's just along here..quite a maze isnt it?" and smiled as they
turned yet another corner eventually arriving at a door which bore
Rangi's name on a plaque along with her rank and position.

"Come in," she said " Take a seat."

Rangi skirted the desk, sat down on her chair and scooted it forward.
She began to tap away on the console and in a few moments glanced up
at Natalia and said."

"Yes...I thought so. He was transferred from Bragg a little under
three weeks ago.he's now at Cranfield Centre ....thats on Earth.." she
added seeing a moment of confusion pass Natalia's face.

Cranfield Centre? That either meant he hadn't fully recovered or still
required treatment, at least that's what she thought but she had no
idea what exactly Cranfield Centre was. "What is Cranfield Centre
exactly?"

"It's a treatment centre for patients such as Lieutenant Lakqost."
Rangi replied.
"..those who have severe neurological damage." She saw the worried
expression on Natalias face intensify. "Although he's recovered well
from his other injuries..his fractured bones and the liver damage...he
remains in a coma."

"I see," Natalia replied, sighing at the news. She'd hoped that his
condition would have improved by now, but there was no change. "Is
there any hope that he'll improve?"

"Yes." Rangi said sounding certain but it was tempered by her
addition. "...there's always hope...but remember, it often takes a
long time..months maybe, before we see much
change at all."

"I understand," she replied, nodding her head slightly. "Thank you."

"I'll request weekly updates on him and keep you informed if you
like." Rangi suggested, thinking that Natalia had more than a friendly
interest in the Lieutenants well being.

"I'd appreciate that," Natalia smiled. "Thanks again for the trouble."

"It's no trouble." Rangi replied, leaning back from the console and
giving Natalia a reassuring smile. "It's never a problem to keep
friends informed."
