Unity - Rangi
After her meeting with Scott, Mercedes hurried to find Bren
and asked he would arrange a temporary transfer for her to
Chimera.He promised to do what he could.
General Sharpe reported to the infirmary for a routine check
up and met Rangi for the first time. She wasnt impressed by
his stoic attitude.
Trent was attacked by an intruder in his quarters but the
assailant proved to be his new aide, Ben Bannister.After
learning of the Lieutenants recent history, Trent said he
would arrange a transfer to an active post via General
Sharpe.
Major Richard Cortez arrived to take up his new post on
board Chimera and started as he meant to continue, by
calling all his teams back 24 hours early,implementing 4
hourly training exercises and reviewing all personal and
security logs.
Mumacik and his teams were overworked by the arrival of the
MEF and their illegal weapons but when an unidentified
person was located near the Generals office. Mumacik decided
to handle it himself...with the help of two ODA units.Dare
Shao did not take kindly to the idea of giving up her weapon
and was not impressed by Mumacik quoting rules and
regulations to her.Eventually she was escorted back to her
ship until the paperwork was sorted out :)
Trent was informed that Chloe Utley had been caught planting
surveilance devices.He visited her in the Brig but she told
him nothing.
On Padassa, Shane used a novel idea to gain the Klingons
respect...even though it made him extremely ill afterwards
:)
Cortez went in search of the missing weapons offloaded onto
the base and had the pleasure of meeting Lt Mumacik, who was
as helpful as usual :)
Determined to get his armoury restocked, Cortez carried out
a raid and beamed everything to Chimera although he took an
extra crate by chance and finding it contained the Generals
stash of weapons, sent it to him.
Later he went to the infirmary for a routine examination,
learned he had high blood pressure and renewed an old
friendship...well...sort of :) Rangi decided to play a trick
on him and let him believe that when she referred to Martin
Guzman, she meant Shanes brother. He saw the amusing side of
it when he met little Martin instead.
Chloe Merau arrived at Unity and was greeted by Richard who
soon sorted out the sleeping arrangements.
Trent met an old friend too, Captain Mayo. They discussed
the merits or not of remaining a captain and enjoying the
life.
Repairs to the Rapier were running ahead of schedule and
feeling pleased about it, Rick returned to the shipyard
where Bren found him.He offered the position of CEO which
Rick happily accepted.
Nicholas Angel was drugged, kidnapped and interrogated by an
operative from SSF Intelligence Command.He was told that he
was to form a covert unit that Starfleet would disavow if
they were discovered.Nicholas was to pick a team of five and
head for SB Unity.His choices were Janus Valkor, a
psychological profiler, A Vulcan, Doctor Chu'lak, a
specialist in reconstructive surgery, a Bolian engineering
speacialist by the name of Brix,
Rangi was pleased to receive an application for the DCMO
position from someone who would fit it perfectly.
Chloe met her superior, Alexia Longhorn, who put her through
a surprising 'test'. When she told Richard about it he
thought it funny but then she turned the conversation to
children and told Richard she wanted a baby.Later they went
shopping together and while Chloe tried on a dress, Richard
was buying an engagement ring and following a meal and a
romantic moment, she accepted his proposal.
In her quarters on Padassa, Giellera was relaxing by
practising some inverted meditation which ended when she was
informed that the Quorom ambassador had arrived
2nd Lieutenants Richard Winters and Larvinix th'Laxonth were
nearing Unity and looking forward to their first posting.On
arrival, Richard reported to General Sharpe who assigned him
to the airborne marines.
Cadet Elbrun also arrived at Unity but made his way to
Chimera,
Jade reported back to the infirmary and learned that other
tests needed to be carried out the following day.Before then
she had to do nothing except relax.
Chimera - Bren
A familiar face, Major Richard Cortez, returns to the Chimera as the new Chief of Security. He starts of his tour of duty by issuing orders and making plans to whip the department into shape. After going to some "extreme" measures to liberate Chimera's weapons consignment from Unity, he meets with Captain Rojac who informs him that Cortez will lead a team to accompany the Special Ops unit on their next mission.
Later, Captain Rojac runs a tactical simulation to help with the young and inexperienced tactical department into shape, which turns out to be a little more difficult than anticipated. Meanwhile in Cargo Bay the new XO, Major Walters, oversees the installation of the new Erassian stealth plating along with Lieutenant Kroitzer and Sergeant Drake. And finally, the Security department sees another new arrival, this time of a brand new SSF cadet, Andrus Elbrun.

Logging:
The weekly logging deadline is at Midnight (12:00AM/00:00) GMT/UTC (19:00 EST); all logs received after the deadline will be counted for the following week. If you are pressed for time and would like a log to count for the previous week, but it is sent after the deadline, please send an email to the command team when you send the log so that we can make the corrections.
Please remember that all MAJOR plot changes need to be cleared with the command staff before a log goes through! You can do this by sending the command staff (chimera-command@ucip.org ) a log labeled with "Draft" tagged to the subject line. We'll typically let you know if it's approved within 24 to 48 hours, or tell you what might need to be modified before it's sent to the listserv.
When using other characters in your logs, please keep in mind that person's characteristics. Character information can be found on the UCIP website or the USS Chimera website (under CREW - just click on the Star Trek symbol next to the character's name). If you're still unsure how to interact with a character, then privately mail the person
involved, and I'm sure they'll be willing to help.
Conversely, if you feel that your character is being portrayed incorrectly by someone please contact them to try to work out an agreeable solution. Just keep in mind when logging to treat other characters the way you'd like them to treat you - with the respect due to any member of Starfleet who is a specialist in their field.
If you think your log may be going out of bounds, then please ask! If you are having problems finding things to write about or would just like some help with your log, please contact your department head or the command team. Remember, you don't always have to log about things relating to the main plot - logs that develop your character's
personality are encouraged! We're eager to help if you're having trouble; just email the command team (chimera-command@ucip.org).

New Cadets are given two (2) weeks upon joining to observe the sim. After the initial observation period, Cadets and other crew are required to post at least one log per week (unless on excused or on LOA).
Promotion is based upon quality and regularity of logging, among other
factors All promotions after Lieutenant Commander require review and
