R&R is slowly coming to an end, but there are still a few things that need to happen for us to set up the next plot, so enjoy the last bit of it while it lasts. Some interesting developments lie ahead, so keep an eye out for that.
Sadly a long time UCIP member, Phishie (Admiral Alexandra Timmis), passed away over the weekend. Although not many of you may have known her, she served in UCIP for over 12 years and our thoughts go out to her friends and family.

Unity - Rangi
Brigadier General Richard Sharpe learned of his reassignment
to SB Unity and soon arranged for his girlfriend Chloe to be
reassigned there too. Six weeks and one
Special Marine Ops course at the Academy later, he arrived
there to take up his new position of Marine Expeditionary
Force Commander.
At Padassa Station, ships from Admiral LeGrand's fleet
dropped out of warp and Giellera reported that the Romulans
had sabotaged the weapons system but that sheilds were were
holding.Moments later a short battle ensured that Romulans
no longer occupied Padassa.
Not long afterwards, Giellera was informed that a cryogenic
bay had been discovered.When she went to see it for herself
she was confused at what she found for amoung many victims
were the bodies of Nicholas Harker and Samantha Palmer.
Chisulo and Rangi were aboard the Qashqai and went to meet
Shane and Cevelas there to explain recent events.Chisulo
took the Detector back to Unity with Rangi and Martin as
passengers whilst Qashqai remained at Padassa. He pondered
over what might happen and what had led to the current
situation.
On board Unity, the Chief of Fleet Level Security was, as
usual, taking his job seriously and contacted Captain Rojac
to ask why no formal word of his decision regarding Channer
Davies had been made.
Mercedes made her way to see Scott, something she had been
putting off. She met Sally Schumann on the way and learned
more than she had expected to.
Gustav and Bren had a drinking session in the Wrench bar
which ended in a fight with some pilots and everyone being
taken to the Brig.
Chimera - Ixus
Cropa busies himself reading the reports coming in from the front lines at Padassa Station. Gustav and Bren raise hell when they start a bar fight with some of Unity's Bomber pilots which is partly ended by them, partly by station security. Anya has the secret of her family's history revealed to her and meets the spider in the centre of the web.

Besides the Romulan Sub-Commander all were aware of the
romantic relationship between Rangi and Shane, but while on
duty and in public, Shane always maintained a formal
"facade" while talking to Rangi. It would not fit very
well when the Task Force CO and Task Force Medical Advisor
would kiss passionately on Qashqai's bridge. Maybe later.

Logging:
The weekly logging deadline is at Midnight (12:00AM/00:00) GMT/UTC (19:00 EST); all logs received after the deadline will be counted for the following week. If you are pressed for time and would like a log to count for the previous week, but it is sent after the deadline, please send an email to the command team when you send the log so that we can make the corrections.
Please remember that all MAJOR plot changes need to be cleared with the command staff before a log goes through! You can do this by sending the command staff (chimera-command@ucip.org ) a log labeled with "Draft" tagged to the subject line. We'll typically let you know if it's approved within 24 to 48 hours, or tell you what might need to be modified before it's sent to the listserv.
When using other characters in your logs, please keep in mind that person's characteristics. Character information can be found on the UCIP website or the USS Chimera website (under CREW - just click on the Star Trek symbol next to the character's name). If you're still unsure how to interact with a character, then privately mail the person
involved, and I'm sure they'll be willing to help.
Conversely, if you feel that your character is being portrayed incorrectly by someone please contact them to try to work out an agreeable solution. Just keep in mind when logging to treat other characters the way you'd like them to treat you - with the respect due to any member of Starfleet who is a specialist in their field.
If you think your log may be going out of bounds, then please ask! If you are having problems finding things to write about or would just like some help with your log, please contact your department head or the command team. Remember, you don't always have to log about things relating to the main plot - logs that develop your character's
personality are encouraged! We're eager to help if you're having trouble; just email the command team (chimera-command@ucip.org).

New Cadets are given two (2) weeks upon joining to observe the sim. After the initial observation period, Cadets and other crew are required to post at least one log per week (unless on excused or on LOA).
Promotion is based upon quality and regularity of logging, among other
factors All promotions after Lieutenant Commander require review and
approval by Starfleet Command. For a complete breakdown of the promotion policy, please visit the Chimera's website.
