Anya walked slowly along the Promenade with Commander Bren Ohmsford
shortly after forcing through his release from the Task Force
Detention Cells. "I assume at some point you're going to ask me why I
went and got you released from the holding cell Commander and why
exactly I called you a tool which I required for my assigned mission."

Bren tried not to walk too fast seeing as every step he took felt like
someone was hitting him against the head. "I try not to ask too many
questions when something is authorised by Admiral Janeway," he
replied. "And especially in my current condition I'd prefer not to ask
any at all. But, seeing as you went through all the trouble to get me
out from under Lieutenant Mumacik's clutches - of which I am really
grateful - I am assuming it's urgent?"

"Urgent may not be the exact word. I have at least a month to get the
equipment I need into place and for that I'm thankful. Whilst I can't
reveal the exact specifics of the mission I can only stress this is of
the highest priority. The Federation and the Alliance to boot have
enemies out there preparing to strike against them, whist the majority
of these organizations are unaware of the threat posed it is still
important these threats be dealt with. What I require will not be
easy or quick to produce I only ask that it be ready as soon as
possible, I need two types of warhead to fit in the newly designed
Anti-Ship Missile created by various Chimera departments. We already
have standard Quantumn and Verteron Warheads but what we need are more
strategically advanced warheads that the enemy cannot defend against.
Firstly I want a Transphasic Warhead with a large yield created and
secondly I would like for immediate research into the creation of a
Tech-Ex Warhead." Anya stated although when she was talking about
this sinister lurking enemy she couldn't tell whether she was talking
about the traitor Colonel Vernier or the Karaf.

Bren nodded. He was aware of the Anti-Ship Missile and the proposed
cooperation between the Federation and Alliance to increase
Starfleet's weapon efficiency. "You're in luck, Major. I've already
authorised the delivery of six transphasic warheads for the Chimera.
I'm not sure whether their yield will be high enough, but I'm sure we
can increase that depending on your requirements. As for Tech-Ex, I'm
not sure I'm familiar with it, but I've been a little out of the loop
recently with weapons development. What exactly does it entail?"

"Firstly we'll need a lot more warheads and the higher the yield the
better. Honestly I'm not entirely sure exactly how Tech-Ex technology
works but from what little I was able to read it works like an EMP
does on old technology. I only managed to read so much before it was
reclassified above my clearance level. There was one name though on
that report who had knowledge of how the recovered device worked...one
of your employees as it happens, Commander Rick Rodgers." Anya said
monitoring Bren's responses to check if he was lying.

"Ah, you're talking about the technology recovered on the USS Detector,"
Bren replied as he caught on with what she was talking about. "You
know, Major, if you ever get tired of being an ace pilot, you should
give some though to joining R&D. Though I suspect sitting behind a
desk drawing up plans is not something that would keep you fulfilled."

"Funny intelligence once made the same offer. Somehow I doubt my skills
are that transposable. I am what I'm required to be and for now that's
a combat pilot and a little bit extra. I would like either yourself or
someone at one of the secure labs to do a small scale test on a biological
ship like those of Species 8472 or in theory any advanced craft the Breen
may come up with." Anya replied.

"I'll put in a request for more transphasic warheads," Bren said. "And
look into this technology you mentioned. On a serious note, give some
thought to my suggestion about R&D... at least on an associative
basis, then you wouldn't have to leave your commission. You've worked
with them before. They might just be interested in having an official
Erassian liaison, and it would give you access to the information on
Tech-Ex."

"I'll give it some thought but I can't promise any priorities just
yet. As the good Ambassador says 'Fate is inexorable'. If you'll
excuse me I have some further items to attend to." Anya said before
giving a nod and heading back to Chimera.
