[Ready Room - Deck One - USS Chimera NCC 96899-C]
Captain Cropa Rojac -
Captain's Log, stardate 240905.13.
The Chimera has re-entered the Grand Banks Nebula, this time with Commander Bren Ohmsford aboard and the rest of the Task Group in tow. We are being escorted by the EAS Prometheus, a fifth generation destroyer class vessel of General Ivanov's Second Erassian Fleet. Her commander, Colonel Alfred Hendricks is an experienced and battle-hardened ship commander with extensive knowledge of both the Canna System and the Grand Banks Nebula. Though he has had few encounters with the Breen, I have no doubts that his efforts will contribute positively to this mission.
I have ordered the tactical department to share all approved tactical knowledge on the Breen that we are allowed to with Colonel Hendricks - including data on their organic ships, their energy dampening weapons and type-three disruptor arrays. I have also forwarded tactical analysis of our encounters with the breen in the Antigonis Sector, and our investigations of the cargo freighter they raided there.
Commander Natalia Trzetrzelewska is currently running operations on the bridge. Navigating through the Grand Banks Nebula can be a grueling task, it reminds me of flying blindly thorugh the Briair Patch on the way to the Lost planet on the Chimera-A. Hopefully, we will make it out of this Nebular encounter in one piece.
Lieutenant Dior is keeping pace with the Prometheus, staying 100km off of her aft section and maintaing a sensor lock on her propulsion systems. Marine Captain Reese is giving me hourly updates on the shields and power systems aboard the ship. So far, nothing life threatening has occured. Every now and then, a neural-gel pack in the computer system would overload and shut off a breaker - but she would quickly dispatch a damage control team to remedy the situation.
Lieutenant Kroizter manages to keep the static electricty build-ups under check by directing the pent-up energy through the deflector once the danger threshold has been reached. This manages to keep the shields operational as well - and the hulls polarized.
Medical reports being in a state of readiness, though a few crew members are reporting bouts of dizziness and disorientation - sea-sickness, if you will. Dr. Rice and his staff conclude that the ailment is more prevalent in races that rely on electromagnetic and magnetic-senses for their senses of balance and direction; similar to the way selkie's on Pacifica do or the crystalline Syrath race. They are busy finding recommendations for remedying this malady for the crew, and have suggested that engineering alter the life-support and anti-grav systems to create an artificial magentic field. Engineering has yet to get pack to me on the type of power requirements that would take. In the meantime, Commander Trzetrzelewska has filled the effected crew's positions.
Lieutenant Jardan has his teams running through cold-weather assignements on the training holo-decks. He is hosting Security teams from the USS Magellan, Rapier, and Eagle. The initial scenarios are scheduled to conclude at the top of the hour, and the Lieutenant is scheduled to make a full report after that time.
I feel the crew will be prepared once we enter the Canna System. In 6 hours, we will exit the nebula, and will enter the Canna system under cloak following the EAS Prometheus on a survey route to avoid suspicion. From there, Commander Ohmsford has ordered the faster USS Rapier, and Commander Hank Telson, to break off on a reconnaissance run inside the system to locate the Breen outpost. There we will hopefully find our prey.
Computer, end log.
