[USS Chimera] SD 240906.16 || Duty Log || Captain Cropa Rojac ||

[Ready Room - Deck One - USS Chimera NCC 96899-C]

The action in the Canna System had, for the most part, settled. And as such, Captain Cropa Rojac turned the bridge over to the Officer of the Watch to retire in his Ready Room. There he would immerse himself in the after-action reports that would no doubt be flooding his inbox in the coming hours.

The effects of the distortion field torpedoes were dissipating, but the Security Teams beamed aboard the freighters already held the ships captive. Again, Tom Jardan and his team had proved their mettle. Rojac was concerned however about the presence of biological weapons on the Breen cargo vessels. Once the munitions were safely aboard in the cargo facilities that the Quartermaster was prepping the Chimera would have to lock them down under high security and transit them to UNITY. All Security Away Teams would have to be placed in decontamination chambers and treated by the Chimera's medical staff as well. It would be a slight inconvenience, he was sure, but it was better than risking a ship-wide pandemic.

Erassian Reinforcements had arrived, escorted by Captain Mayo's USS Magellan and the Chimera's Executive Officer, Chief Engineer, and Acting Chief Medical Officer. They were busy rounding up the Romulan crews aboard the Troop transports the Chimera had disabled, but promised to return Rojac's senior staff members once everything was under control. Rojac could rest more easily, he missed Natalia's calm demeanor - a trait he had come to rely upon in times of stress. He would be happy when she resumed the position to his right once more. And after the lengthy engagement the Chimera had just endured, Rojac really wanted his chief engineer back aboard.

The young Captain, reviewed the incoming reports as they came in - jotting down notes on his personal padd or his final report to Commodore Guzman. Commander Ohmsofrd was no doubt doing something similar in the VIP quarters that had been assigned to him as he came aboard. Either that, or he was coordinating prisoner transfers and the final wrap-up of the Mission Operations.  The majority of the captured Breen and Romulan troops would be turned over to the Erassian Alliance, as they were captured in Erassian space. Even the unidetified alien would be turned over to General Ivanov's fleet - which was fine for Rojac. There was already one of the mysterious beings in stasis in the high security bowels of Starbase UNITY, and having dealt with one before, Rojac was not keen on holding one aboard his ship. They were powerful telepaths, capable of killing with mere thoughts. Hybrids like Ambassador Ayanami would have a better chance at surviving and combating a mental onsalught than the majority of Rojac's crew would. There were a few telepaths aboard, like Commander Wellington, however their abilities were not as weaponized as those of the mysterious being captured by Erassian Special Forces. As far as the young Captain was concerned, the Erassians could have it. Knowing Ivanov, Rojac knew the General would welcome the challenge.

+Montesque to Rojac.+

The Captain's thoughts were interrupted by the transmission from his Communications officer.

"Rojac here." He replied, "What are you doing on duty, Montesque? Gamma shift was ordered to take stations."

+Just wrapping up a few loose ends, sir.+ The frenchman replied over the line. +Incoming communiques from the Magellan. They have finished with the troop transports and are moving in to return our crew members. Shall I forward their reports?+

"Yes. To my ready room , Lieutenant." Rojac answered. "Thank you."

When the reports appeared on the touchscreen embedded in Rojac's desk top, he quickly accessed them and reviewed their contents. He fumed when he read the report about his Chief Engineer making external repairs on the sovereign class's hull during a battle. Though a valiant and brave operation, it was foolhardy and extremely dangerous. Perhaps that is why Mr. Kroitzer earned the nickname Gutz? Rojac mused. Nevertheless, the Captain would have to speak to the Lieutenant when he returned.

Another troubling report came from the Flight Operations department in which an Erassian program had been initiated during a dogfight with a Romulan Scorpion squadron. Though the results of the program turned out in the Lancer Squadron's favor, it rose some security concerns. Why was an Erassian program hidden in the Lancer Squadrons circuitry? Were there more? Have new Federation designs been compromised? Rojac doubted that Marine Captain Xerxes would do anything to compromise her pilots, the Chimera, or Starfleet; but he knew that once he returned to UNITY, command would be breathing down his neck. He wanted to hear Xerxes explanation so that he would be prepared to rebuke the headhunters headed their way. He sent the Captain a request to report to him after the scheduled debriefing of her department.

It took a little over two hours to compile the after action report which he forwarded with haste back to Taskforce Command on UNITY, with a copy sent to Commander Ohmsford. In the downtime between now and their new orders, Rojac set-up a Senior Officer's debriefing. He would be glad to return back to UNITY. An ice cold beer on a stool a tthe Bluenote sounder very appealing right about now.
