[Runabout Altair - Runabout Garage 34-B - SB 234: UNITY]
Lieutenant Rayna Dior sat in the navigation chair and ran a final check on the flight plan. The journey from the Aeran system to the frigid moon of Andoria - home world of the Andorians. She made sure to pack plenty of warm clothes including the cold weather variant for her duty uniform - and she hoped that the conference would be indoors.
The flightpath she planned would take the Altair and her crew around the Hromi Cluster, past Vulcan and into the Andorian system. Avoiding stellar phenomena and staying within communications range would lengthen their trip, but it was a necessary precaution during a time of war - and regulation. All things considered, the trip would take 26 hours in the runabout. With the Chimera at her disposal, Dior could make it in 13.
The half-betazoid helm officer was distracted from her musings by the opening of the hatch behind her. She turned to see which of her team mates was joining her aboard.
Jade was sitting in the back of the Runabout reading over the battle simulation she was going to run smiling to herself this was the one things she missed about the Marines. At the table with her was LtJg Ianto Jones (NPC) an operations officer who showed interest in Strat Ops and was going to attend some conferences to learn more about the position. Jade also decided to have Gunny D'Belzen and LtCmdr Vaughn (NPC's) stay behind and run some simulations to stay sharp.
Lieutenant Castillo stepped aboard the ship with a large bag slung over his back. He looked at the other officers already assembled and quietly made his way to a vacant seat. He didn't particularly like anyone on the Chimera so he had no intention of making 'friends' with
any of the other unlucky souls who were stuck on this shuttle with him and the last thing he wanted to do was sit in a shuttle for half a day with people he had no respect for so he could then sit at a boring conference with more people he didn't care for. Glancing to the side
he noticed two people sitting at a table. Castillo didn't know their names and didn't care to learn them, especially after recognizing at least one from the 'party'. He rolled his eyes and pushed his sack onto the seat next to him then leaned back and stared out the window.
Kroitzer stepped onto the runabout with his luggage in tow he looked about quickly to see who else was on board as he stowed his things, he noticed Jade reading and deep in thought, he also noticed Castillo sitting by himself with a face like thunder.
He approached Dior "what time are we due to depart Lieutenant?" he asked.
"1300 sir." Rayna replied as she finalized the flight path. She checked her chronometer as she turned to face the CEO. "Fifteen standard minutes." She looked over his shoulder briefly and did a quick passenger count. "Has Commander Levison arrived? As ranking officer he's supposed to be in 'command' of this flight."
"No Lt, the commander hasn't arrived yet" he said taking another quick look around.
Jade looked up when both Kroitzer and Castillo came on aboard she definitely felt the strong emotions and thoughts coming off of Castillo but she just pushed them to side. Once they settled down she went back to her reading while Ianto never even looked up when they
entered.
collective faces around him he said: "Whoever patents trip-proof carpet and deck plating should win the title of 'Emperor of the Known Universe.'" And then quietly to himself he added: "Nice work Mike, great entrance there..."
Getting back to his feet he started to collect the Tactical reports and data he had collated for the briefing and nodded to Dior, "Shall we get this show on the road, El-Tee?"
Dior hid her amusement by turning her full attention to the flight controls - though she couldn't keep the smirk off of her face. "Aye Commander." he hit the comm button. "UNITY control, this is Runabout Altair, we're ready for departure."
+Copy that Altair.+ The operations officer in the ops enter responded. +Proceed to way point zero-three-four before engaging warp engines. Godspeed.+
