"Mommy! Mommy!" came Rachel's bounding voice.  All that could be heard from Mai was grumbling.

Mai had been laying in bed on her side.  She had a pillow under her stomach, a pillow for in between her knees, and one for under her head.  Mai's pregnancy was really starting to come into full swing and suck up all of her energy.  Anymore there wasn't a day where she didn't feel completely exhausted.

"Mommy! Mommy!"  Rachel jumped up onto her mother's bed and immediately crouched down to hug her.  "Time to get up!"

Mai let out a sigh, "Do I really have to?"  She gave the best sly grin she could.

"Yes, Mommy.  You said you would take me and the baby out to breakfast".  Rachel grabbed Mai's arm and started to pull.  She hoped she could pull her mom out of bed.

MaiKai played along and allowed Rachel to believe she had actually pulled her mother into a sitting position where she could then get started and prepared for the day.  Rachel jumped down and ran back into her room so she could get dressed for the day since she was still wearing her pajamas.  Mai continued to slowly go through the motions of getting dressed and everything else that was included in her morning routine.

Throughout getting dressed and brushing her long hair and everything else that need to be accomplished before leaving her quarters, Mai couldn't help but think how much she was feeling like a single parent and how that was really exhausting her.  She really wished that Rick was home.  She was missing being able to share everything with him.  Her closest friend Lindsay was still on the Chimera.  Word came around that the Chimera would be returning soon, but still.  Anyone, besides Rick, that Mai could trust with anything like babysitting Rachel while she slept were either back on Earth or on a different ship.  Mai was feeling all alone in everything that she does which is really starting to take it's toll and it's affect as well.

.....

Soon Mai, Rachel, and the baby to be were out and on their way to find someplace to eat good tasting breakfast on base.  Mai only hoped she wouldn't have to be embarrassed by the mess Rachel would probably make on the floor and all over the table.  She loved breakfast food just like her mommy.
