[Begin Transcript]

Rojac:  I would like to begin by thanking Counselor Wellington for, again, spearheading the operation to put this event together. The Counselor does a fine job at these things – she even made this gymnasium not stink of sweat.

(Slight chuckles)

I will try and hurry. I don't want to hold you all from your shore leave for too much longer. Commander Trzetrzelewska and I thought it would be important to take a moment to recognize the contributions from several of our crew members after the recent mission. So let us do so. Let us recognize those comrades of ours that have fallen in the preservation of our Federation's ideals. And let us recognize the contributions of those comrades that are still fighting beside us.

The Chimera has witnessed the passing of four distinguished individuals on the excursion to Outpost 0071 and the extermination of the Romulan threat there. These four crewmen were in the service of our fleet, and were present during the disaster on deck 10 when damage wrought by our foes caused explosions in our environmental control center. Today we recognize Specialist Harry Marina, Technician Hrondel of Tellar, and Crewman Franklin Jenkins of the Engineering Department.  We also recognize Lance Corporal T'nok who was present at the neighboring Life Support Control Center during the same explosion. These officers have given their lives, and we have been honored to serve alongside them. I have sent our condolences to their next of kin, but it is now up to us to continue their mission.

We also come today to recognize contributions of those that are still with us. I would like to call to the podium First Lieutenant Jade Reese, Lieutenant Junior Grade Gustav Kroitzer, and Marine Captain Anya Xerxes.

(Officers make their way to the podium.)

First Lieutenant Jade Reese, please step forward. Lieutenant Reese, you have been quite a busy officer since your transfer from the Quasar. You helped me in the battle of Aeran III aboard the Bahamut. You were crucial in the development of the transporter program allowing the Security team to get aboard Outpost 0071. You and your team are also spearheading research into the development of a Romulan Communications jamming system. You were also an integral actor in the battle of Outpost 0071. In recognition of these contributions, you are being promoted to the rank of Marine Captain and given all rights and responsibilities granted therein. You are also awarded the Preanteres Ribbon for excellence in the field of Operations and a Fleet Ribbon or Merit.

(Commander Trzetrzelewska steps forward and presents the awards. Round of applause.)

Congratulations, Captain. Hopefully it won't be too confusing with two "Captains" on the Bridge.

Lieutenant Junior Grade Kroitzer, please step forward. You too volunteered your service aboard the Bahamut during the battle of Aeran III, an action I am most appreciative of. You designed and installed a successful line of EM Launchers in the Fighter Bays with an innovative quick deployment powering mechanism. You also lost your arm in the performance of your duties. In recognition of these events and services, it is my honor to bestow upon you a Fleet Service Medal and a Purple Heart Medal. Thank you, Lieutenant.

(Commander Trzetrzelewska steps forward and presents the awards. Round of applause.)

Marine Captain Anya Xerxes, you have designed and new and innovative fighter design for Federation use that has a promise to change Federation tactics and strategies in the generations to come. Your Lancers have revolutionized Federation fighter capabilities with their versatility, maneuverability, and power. Your squadron also served a critical role in our recent mission, a role in which I am very grateful for. In response, you are hereby awarded a Fleet Achievement Medal and an Omega Cross Award. Thank you, Captain.

(Commander Trzetrzelewska steps forward and presents the awards. Round of applause.)

These are our brave comrades. We should all be honored to serve in their presence and to fight alongside them. The Federation has seen tough times, and during each era brave men and women such as us have stepped forward to preserve our ideals. We have more tough times ahead, and it is up to us to step forth and confront them. Our survival depends on us standing together, proud and strong. We must be the heroes of our generation. Take with you encouragement from the individuals recognized today.

Remember those passed, and fight strong with those beside you. Be strong in the battles ahead. The Romulans have attacked New Geneva and are mobilizing their forces to invade colonies along the border. Tough times are ahead, and we must be ready. Take you rest. Enjoy your shore leave, for we will be thrust headlong into the action again soon.

But first, Counselor Wellington? Do you have the pies?

(Counselor Wellington rolls out with three pies on large trays.)

            Let the celebrations begin.
