*** Rangis Quarters * USS Detector ***
Rangi left the Bridge and returned to her quarters to find a
message waiting from the CMO.
He had sent the results of the test he had taken on the skin
at the base of her neck where the Romulan had intended to
implant the device.
The area was sore and slightly inflamed but the results
showed there would be no permanent effects and he reassured
her that the treatment he had given would suffice.
He had included the full details of the compounds the swab
had contained but Rangi skimmed over them and closed the
screen, turned away and released a long breath as she
glanced around the room before moving to the bed.
She lay down on top of the coverlet, and tried to relax but
her thoughts were not that easily stilled and although the
bed was comfortable and the room peaceful, sleep at first
eluded her and when it came it was fitful at best.
Her dreams in the half wakeful state were of Martin and
Shane, Harker and what his plans might be, the Chameleiod
and how long he had been active aboard Unity and all that
that entailed.
She dreamt of Liev and his pitiful state and how charming
and friendly he had been before. She dreamt of the open
cells and released prisoners, some near death and some
already dead.
There were a myriad of images and tumbled, troubled
scenarios bit always, always there was Shane and Martin.
Her eyes flew open and she was suddenly wide awake and
aware.
Leaping from the bed she was at the consol in an instant.
" Summers" she said, slapping her hand on the com button.
" Ma'am.." a voice responded. " Captain Chisulo requests you
come to the Bridge."
" On my way" she replied.
