[USS Chimera] SD 240912.21 || Andor Conference Log || Lt Fisher (CMO) ||

*** ShiKahr * Vulcan ***

Scott Fisher stepped off the six seater transport that had brought him from his hotel to the Conference building and stood before the steps glancing around him, searching the crowds for sight of Mercedes. They had arranged to meet there but he saw no sign of her in the moving crowds.

He looked up at the building in front of him and was impressed, as he was meant to be. The spires soared above the city as though vying for position with the mountains in the distance which encircled the valley known as the Vulcan's Forge.

{They certainly know how to build} he told himself and hoisting his bag onto his shoulder, began to climb the thirteen shallow steps leading to the entrance.

Suddenly there was a low, thunderous clap that rumbled beneath the medical officer's feet. At first it seemed like an earthquake, a common occurrence around the volatile tectonic area, but the searing heat and flames that burst out of the entrance quieted that thought in an instant. Shards of hot shrapnel and metal erupted from the majestic entrance to the Shi'Kar Science Cetner and pelted the building across the way. The resulting shockwave and percussive boom further shook the cities' inhabitants and through all those who did not perish instantly to their feet
in agony.

The top most pinnacle toppled and fell, demolishing two smaller ones on the way down and it was a large part of one of these that Scott saw coming straight  for him as he lay at the foot of the stairs, bruised and shaken from the explosion. In his case it wasnt true that his life flashed before his eyes although its safe to say that he thought his days were ending.

The architect though had given grace to his plans and so it was that instead of being crushed, Scott found himself inside an arc of steel. True it was very close to his face but it hadnt touched him and once he realized that fact he scrambled and slithered free.

Screams could be heard throughout the burning wreckage. Bodies that weren't stilled by the grip of death writhed in agony on the floor. The heat from the flames only added to the dry suana that was the Vulcan desert. If there was a hell, this was it.

Scotts bag contained a medkit and it was that that he pulled out of the rubble, desperate to make a move to help the injured.

The first two people he saw were beyond help but the third was alive though trapped beneath masonary.

His vision was blurry and one-sided, but he easily saw the silhouetted figure approaching out of his working eye. He tried to reach out a hand, only to realize there wasn't one there. Only a broken stump with a protruding radius. "Help!" He screamed toward the man.

Scott fell to his knees assessing the state of the man. " It's ok....it's ok." he lied, already reaching into the medkit. He snapped his head suddenly to the left where another piece of the building crashed down.

"My Hand!" the man shouted. His eyes were wild in disbelief. "What happened?" He turned back to the man. "Help!"

" An explosion...something...I dont know.." Scott said and pressed a hypo against the mans neck. " Help's coming..its coming."

He wished it was so because he knew he couldnt free the man on his own and unless he was in a hospital 'very' soon....

"They're here." he said feeling a great rush of relief as a group materialised a few yards away.

A vulcan commander with a red collar turned towrad the Lieutenant. The four blue collared officers rushed off into the crowds to attend to the wounded as the commander advanced toward Fisher. "Lieutenant," the vulcan said, "what has happened here?"

" I dont know...an explosion somehow." he shook his head, at a loss to explain what he couldnt understand. "This man needs urgent treatment." he said, looking up at the Commander.

The vulcan nodded. "Bur'rel to Jefferson. Emergency beam one injured to sickbay. Lock onto transponder four." The vulcan leaned down and placed the unit on the injured man's uniform. "Third degree burns, missing limbs, and general blunt force trauma."

+Copy that commander.+ Came the reply on the vulcan's combadge. Soon after the transporter enveloped the injured man and whisked him off to safety.

"Lieutenant. What is your name and assignment?" Bur'rel asked.

Scott got to his feet as the victim dematerialised. "Scott Fisher." he replied. " I'm part of the delegation from Starbase Unity...come to the conference...in there." he ended, pointing at what was left of the building.

"Do you have sufficient training in emergency medicine?" Bur'rel asked.

"Yes I do Sir." Scott replied

"Then as executive officer of the USS Jefferson I am temporarily re-assigning you to aid in this disaster recovery effort." Commander Bur'rel said. "The Jefferson's Chief Medical officer was already in attendance inside the conference. I'm going to set up an emergency triage center in the street out here." He pointed to a clearing where some engineering teams had recently beamed down and begun erecting a hard metal structure. "I need you to find the most vital cases and have them beamed to the Jefferson in orbit." He handed Scott a bag of transponders. "Good luck, Lieutenant. I will be over here if you need me."

"Thankyou Sir." Scott eyed the practised efficiency with which the engineering team was working then he glanced around again at the destruction on all sides. Walking wounded passed him, some obviously in shock, others helped by a friend or strangers, Many lay dead, their injuries needing no explanation and others needed the help he could give. Through it all he looked for Mercedes but saw no sign.

As the medical officer walked away Bur'rel tpped his combadge. "Bur'rel to Jefferson."

+Jefferson here.+ Came the Captain's voice. +Security teams are in stand-by.+

"Acknowledged, Captain." Bur'rel replied. "I have one more request. Can you run a background check on a Lieutenant Scott Fisher?"
