[Deck 1 - Captain's Ready Room, USS Chimera-C]
"Ensign take the Ops console." Ian said stepping aside and walking down to the Captain's Ready Room he needed to speak to the Captain about Jade being on medical leave and that the cargobay was ready for the Marines as well as the armor as arrived. Vaughn hit the chime and tried to calm his nerves this was the first time meeting with the CO, he's done it plenty of times before but for some reason this was different.
"Come." Came the Captain's automatic response - and the doors slid obediently aside.
Walking into the ready room Vaughn looked around the ready room always enjoying seeing how CO's decorated them he walked up to the desk and saluted the Captain, "morning Captain I have some updates for you." Vaughn said standing at attention until the Captain said at ease.
"At ease, Mr. Vaughn." Rojac said. "Now, what updates are you referring to?"
"The first one is that MCapt Jade Reese needs to stay on UNITY for medical reasons and that I will be stepping in for her." Ian said taking a moment to bring up the next thing on the PADD and then handing it to the CO, "the cargobay for the Marines is ready and they can move in whenever they want." Ian said taking a moment to allow the CO to look over that.
Roja glanced over the report on the padd. The cargobay looked to spec on the padd, hopefully when he and Cortez escorted Shao there it would look okay in person. "Good work, Mr. Vaughn."
"Also we've just received the stealth armor plates and Sgt Drake along with the XO, Wing CO and Lt Kroitzer are working on adding them to the Chimera as we speak." Ian said finishing up with the updates.
"I saw that." Rojac said, "Those Tarangor workerbee Captain's waste no time. Do you have any estimates on when the installation and initial tests will be complete?"
"48 hours at max." Ian said, "and knowing the Sergeant she'll probably have it done sooner and done well." Ian said smiling having worked with the Sergeant before she was also transferred to the Chimera. "The tricky part is the attachment of the plates in the right places but we've a good engineering and operations crew working on it."
Rojac nodded. "Excellent work, Mr. Vaughn. I will hold you to that assessment. Is there anything else?"
"No that's about it." Ian said knowing that he could've sent in a report on a PADD but he wanted to speak with the CO face to face so he would know who was going to be the acting Chief Operations Officer.
"Very well then." Rojac replied. "Marine Captain Reese has left you some big shoe to fill, but I'm confident you'll be able to fill them. She spoke highly of you in her last performance evaluation. You have a good team underneath you, rely on them. And if you have any questions, Mr. Vaughn, you obviously know where my office is."
"Thank you sir." Ian said swallowing a lump in his throat knowing all to well how big the shoes he had to fill where and also knew that he had a very good department underneath him. "I do and thank you again." Ian said he then saluted and walked out of the ready room and back to his post.
"Dismissed, Mr. Vaughn." Rojac nodded. Then he flipped his desktop display back on to go over the tactical scans of the stellar nursery.
Back at his post he went over what the Ensign did which was mainly monitoring diagnostics and the work on being done on the Chimera. Looking at his Chronometer the next shift should be coming on within the next few minuets and he'll be able to go get some lunch and check in with Jade and see how she was doing.
