1. Commanding Officer's Message:
Greetings Chimerans,
Another year is upon us, and I have decided to freshen up the reports a bit. A little cosmetically and a little functionally. I've trimmed out some of the excess and streamlined it a bit. Hopefully the readership will pick up as a result.
Congratulations are in order to the crew for our bid for the Bergen award. To be in the top three two times in a row is an accomplishment. We may not have come out with an orion or the top prize this go around, but I feel this displays our generosity. We can't take all the medals now can we? We're letting everyone else have a try. Next time though, the plaque is ours. I'm going to be making some changes this year (that will hopefully turn out to be improvements), but they won't do anything without your support. Let's work together and prove to the rest of UCIP that we truly are the best of the best.
Reminder: Not everyone has filled out the small questionnaire I sent out. Please do so. It's har for me to improve things if you can't tell me what's wrong. I've gotten a few good responses so far, but I'll need more to identify any kind of consensus. The link can be found here: Questionnaire.
I'm always open to comments and suggestions. If you have discrepancies with this new report format, I will hear you out. Please e-mail the command team.

Too Close to Home
The Federation's four founding worlds have come under attack. Earth, Vulcan, Andor and Alpha Centauri have been rocked by deadly explosions. Key members of the Chimera's crew were attending targeted Starfleet conferences at the time of the explosions. How will they react? Will they succumb to the chaos or will they rise above it? Who is responsible? Could it be the Romulans, or is it a new foe with whom we are not yet familiar? And how will this effect President Spock's decision on whether or not to use the most deadly weapon the Federation has ever developed?

This week on the Chimera...
Cortez and Rangi discuss recent events in Rangi's office. Somehow Cortez weasles his way into participating in the investigation. Rojac whacks one of the terrorists on the back the head with a fender and shoots another. THEN Sharpe and Walters show up to plan their next moves. Reese' simulation on Andor starts off good, but ends in disaster as the terrorist attacks hit the ice world. Trent wakes up in sickbay and postpones and argument with his wife, who has decided to move to UNITY. On Vulcan Scott Fisher works with the Jefferson's crew in the aftermath of the explosion on VULCAN (I accidentally said Andor in the log...).

How to make friends (not)........
Castillo, feeling exhausted from the night before, grudgingly stepped inside. He purposely looked away from everyone trying to hide the large red mark on his forehead from where his own boot had hit him thenight before. Sitting down at the tactical seat he strapped himself in, glanced at the controls and wondered who the man sitting in the captain's chair was. "So who's stupid idea was this anyways", he said aloud, to nobody in-particular.
The Andorian Captain turned around in his chair to face the 1Lt, "do you not think it's a good idea for SF to not train their officers in simulations to get them prepared for battle?" The Andorian said looking like he would hit the 1Lt if he said something similar to "whose stupid idea was this?"
Charly rolled his eyes, "Calm down cupcake, don't get your antlers in a knot", he said punching a few commands into the screen in front of him and smirking to himself.

"Really. Could have fooled me. And don't give me this 'I was only trying to protect you crap," Sarah said.
