[USS Chimera] SD 240812.19 || Medical Inspection Jl || Capt Rojac (CO) & Cmdr Summers (CMO/1TF Med) ||

[Main Sickbay - Deck 11 - USS Chimera-C]

Captain Cropa Rojac stood in the metallic hallway, just
before the frosted sliding glass doors that served as the
entrance to the Chimera's sickbay. He knew he was about to
make several of his crew rather uncomfortable with his
sudden and unannounced appearance,  so he wanted to look the
intimidating part. He furrowed his brow, straightened his
tunic, and tapped the sidearm on his waist. Yes, he thought,
this will do.

He stepped forward as the doors slid apart with their airy
sigh. He quickly recognized the nurse at the reception desk.
"Lieutenant Flemming, could you please summon Commander
Summers for me? I'm here for my tour."

Lucy, busy working on the final edition of the nursing rotas
looked up in surprise to see the Captain striding towards
her and stood up quickly.

"Certainly Sir." she replied, side stepping the desk." The
Commander is in her office...may I show you the way?"

"You may."

Lucy led the way towards the CMO's office which was a
relatively short distance but caught the eye of a young
medtech as they passed the entrance to one of the labs. The
medtech stood to attention as Rojac passed, but by the time
Lucy said " In here captain" as she stood aside outside
Rangi's office, word was already spreading like wildfire
throughout sickbay that the Captain was here.

Rojac waited patiently with his hands held behind his back
while the head nurse pressed the chime.

"Come in" Rangi called when the chime sounded and hurriedly
stood up when the door slid back to reveal Rojac.

"Commander." Rojac nodded as he passed through the
threshold. "I hope I did not come at a bad time. How is your
department fairing?"

"It's fairing very well Sir." Rangi replied. "...and I'm
pleased to confirm that the transporter system has been
fully tested and is totally operational. I have a full
report for you...would you like to go over it here or
perhaps see things for yourself?"

"Here is fine, Commander. I've done plenty of walking
today." He smiled. Visiting every department on the ship had
made his legs rather tired; and he still had yet to report
to the bridge to ask Natalia how things were going there.

"Very well." Rangi replied and added :" Shall we sit down?"

"Sure." Rojac replied before taking the chair opposite the
good doctor's.

"I've forwarded the full report to you, Sir, but if you would
like to peruse this then I can answer any questions that you
have."

She switched on the  desktop terminal, accessed the
information she chose and leaned back slightly so he could
read it unhindered.

"Looks good so far. Mr. Scardona's comments this morning had
me worried about it. He was under the impression it was
going to take a little more fine tuning." Rojac said.
"Though with cellular degradation levels at that percentile

I don't think we should be transporting any more than two at
a time until the fine tuning is complete. Don't you, Commander?"

Rangi scrolled down to highlight the paragraphs outlining
the outcome of the morning's work.
"I agree." she said looking at Rojac "..as you see, that
recommendation has been made."
She gave him a moment or two to examine the report then
brought up another department.

"I was particularly pleased to see the surgical units are
fully operational now and the minor fault with the stasis
chambers has also been ironed out. There were temperature
fluctuations."
She pointed to the relevant passages in the text.

"Excellent." Rojac said, leaning forward with interest.
"What about the medical replicators, just in case we run
into another Charos VI scenario. Would we be able to mass
manufacture an antidote?"

"That shouldn't be a problem.." Rangi replied. "With our own
replicators plus those in the Science Department, we should
be able to cover ourselves in that eventuallity.Although
this Chimera is much smaller than the last she has ..as you
know...state of the art equipment here. It's a physicians
dream in many ways."
She smiled at Rojac.

"Good. And let us hope it is a Romulan nightmare." Rojac said, standing straight up. "This has been most beneficial, Commander. We'll have to do this again soon." He checked his chronometer. "I have another appointment pending, Thank you."
