Rick stepped out on the deck and looked around. Crew from the
Qashqai, Jameson and Rapier were preparing the command hub
for the journey to Unity. Rick saw Bren and walked over to the
commander.
"Commander Ohmsford," Rick said.
"Rick," Bren said as he turned away from the console he'd been
reading.
"I have a request to make," Rick said, then handed the PADD he
been carrying to Bren.
He waited for Bren to read some of the the contents of the PADD
before he spoke again.
"I believe that ship out there somewhere. I think we should go and
see if we can find it."
Bren looked up from the padd back at Rick. "That's quite an
interesting looking ship, Commander. How do you propose to get her
back."
"I want to take Jameson. It will be at least 20 hours before shipyard
ready to tow," Rick said. "If we find Detector, Jameson can easily
tow her back here."
"It could be risky; we don't know if there might be any Romulan ships
hiding nearby," Bren cautioned.
"I believe it worth effort. It is impressive ship. Could be useful," Rick
stated.
Bren considered the situation for a moment. It was true the Detector
class could be very useful in the war effort. In fact, any ship at all would
be useful. Rick had completed his main job on the shipyard and all that
remained was to prepare the shipyard for towing, which was a mundane
task and not something Rick necessarily needed to be present for.
"Very well, Commander," Bren said with a nod. "But I want you to take
the Qashqai along, just in case you run into some trouble."
"Understood, Commander," Rick said. "Thank you."
Rick turned and walked out of the command center to make
arraignments with the Jameson and the Qashqai.
