[USS Chimera] SD 240901.28 | Narendra Mission | Joint Log, Capt Chisulo & Cmdr Kortag'h

[Runabout Fenrir - In orbit of Khitomer - Klingon Space]

"Are you having any success, Lieutenant Jackson?" Tedros Chisulo asked the intelligence officer in his deep smooth cadence. The American looked up with his piercing green eyes and replied in his thick Louisianian accent, "No sir. Nothing yet from the planet's surface. Are you sure he's coming along?"

"He's coming along, Lieutenant." Chisulo replied with a harsh look telling the intelligence officer to speak no further. "He will signal in due time. Meanwhile, keep your eyes prescient."

Jackson gave a half-hearted "Yessir" before returning to his sensors and communication's monitors. Chisulo left the Lieutenant to his work, and headed to the cockpit where LtCommander Faulkner was planning their route back to Narendra VIII, albeit a little deeper into the depths of their investigation. Chisulo approached quielty and placed a his hands on the back of the Commander's chair. "How are preparations, Commander?"

"Slow." Faulkner nodded, looking up briefly from his work to acknowledge the Captain's presence. "I can account for the spatial obstructions, but I'm having trouble planning around the Klingon's patrol routes." He pulled a schematic of the latest scans.  "We'll have two steer around two patrols, taking us into the Kantos sector."

"What will our ETA be?" Chisulo asked.

"At the proper speed required to mask our trail? A little less than a day and a half." Faulkner replied. "Plenty of time to prep for insertion."

Chisulo crossed his arms. "It will have to do. Were you able to find any schematics of the base while I was planetside?"

"Jackson was only able to hack into old engineering databases." Faulkner said as he pulled up an old schematic for the Station at Narendra VIII. "This is before their remodel in 2358 when their security and defense systems were upgraded. The ore processing facilities remained rather unchanged though, according to public files."

Chisulo squinted as he studied the plans. "Then plan for insertion into the cargo bays of the ore processing facilities."

"Aye sir." Faulkner replied. "I'll have a plan of attack ready for approval by morning."

+Captain.+ Jackson's voice called through the combadge. +I'm picking up the signal. Southern continent, near your rendezvous point.+

"Good." Chisulo said, turning to the transporter near the rear of the cockpit. "Commander Faulkner, beam him aboard."

Kortag'h waited while the transporter sequence completed then looked around at the interior Chisulo's shuttle.

"Welcome aboard, Commander Kortag'h." Chisulo greeted as the materialization sequence came to a close.

"Captain," Kortag'h inclined his head. "Impressive shuttle."

"It serves it's purpose, Commander." Chisulo said with a nodded head in respectful greeting. "We will be getting underway shortly. My navigator will take us through the Kantos sector to avoid patrols, giving us 38 hours of preparation."

"Wise decision," Kortag'h said. "We should encounter no trouble while passing that way. How much do you know of the station at Narendra?"

"We've been able to pull up some dated blueprints from 2358." Chisulo said walking over to an unmanned workstation, pulling them up. "Would you car to study them?"

Kortag'h nodded and took a closer look at the schematics of the station. "I have been to the station once before. The design remains the same, but the armaments have been upgraded. I can amend your files."

"Very well." Chisulo turned toward the front of the ship. "Commander Faulkner, it's time for our departure."

"Aye sir." The red collared lieutenant commander hollered back. Within moments the whining of the warp nacelles could be heard reverberating throughout the hull plating of the danube class runabout. Soon Lieutenant Jackson popped his head from the corridor.

"Captain. Unity is asking or a status update."

"I will get it to them." Chisulo replied. "Get our load-out gets prepared, Lieutenant. We will plan our advancement in three hours."

"Yes sir."

Chisulo turned back to Kortag'h as the intelligence officer disappeared once again into the back of the small craft. He rested an arm on the back of the klingon officer's chair. "So, what do you think, Commander?"

"I think it is time the Empire regains it's honour, Captain," Kortag'h said firmly.
