[Bridge - Deck One - USS Chimera NCC 96899-C]

The young Captain looked out at the surprised faces behind him as he
turned away from the viewscreen. He calmed their anxieties in one
sentence.

"We are not surrendering." He said, "Not without a damned good fight.
But we have to be quick."

The Captain approached his chair, walking past the helm station.
"Dior, prepare for quick warp jump to point 300 meter below the
Falcore's bow. Let's see if Picard's famous maneuver will work against
foes from an alternate dimension."

"Aye sir." Dior smirked as she programmed the course. "Forwarding
coordinates to tactical."

"That may confuse the Falcore's sensors Captain but we'll still be in
direct sight of everybody else including the other two Thelaron
Cruisers not to mention well within weapons range..." Walters warned.

The Captain nodded. And then turned to Lt. Vaughn at Ops. "Lieutenant,
take control of the tactical deflector, and get ready for a combined
sensor black-out and shield disruptor pulse. I want you to fire it as
soon as tactical lowers shields."

It took a minuet for Ian to realize that the Captain wasn't planning
giving up but it was still a shock to hear that come out of a CO's
mouth. Ian nodded he started to pull up the tactical deflector and
preparing things for a sensor black-out he remember when he was in the
academy they did many drills to prepare all operation officers on how
to handle a sensor black-out if you weren't expecting it luckily he
now knows when it's going to come. With a quick nod to the Captain to
say he was ready he sent a quick message to the ODCC to have a heads
up for the black-out.

"Captain, are you sure it's wise for us to drop our shields?" Mike
began to object but, quickly dampened his anxiety at the look from the
Captain. It was a look that said 'I know what I'm doing... I hope' and
one that Levison himself had used many times from the centre chair.
Rojac may have been young, but Mike was quickly finding him to be a
capable commander. "Give the word and it'll be done, sir."

Rojac glanced nervously at his chronometer. "yes, Commander. I don't
want our shield emitters to be disrupted by our own pulse. And it
will help sell our feint." Rojac glanced back up toward helm, "Dior
after we execute the warp jump and fire on the Falcore I want you to
punch it into the nebula where we can activate the stealth plating and
commence in guerrilla operations."

"Sounds like a plan, skipper." Dior called back. "Ready when you give
the order, sir."

Rojac turned to his new XO. "You think it will work, Major?"

"Only if they take the bait and all come after Chimera. They may just
kill off the Rapier and the Eagle first before thinking about us, in
which case we're further up shit creek without a paddle. Still it's
the only plan we've got and the clock is ticking down." Walters
replied.

Rojac nodded and glanced at his watch. "Then let's hope they fall for
it. 10 seconds, are we ready?"

"Aye Captain, standing by to drop shields," Levison nodded from the
rear of the Bridge, his fingers poised to enact his commander's
orders.

{Brown trousers time} Walters thought moving back to his seat.

Rojac gripped the cushioned armrests and gave the order through
clenched teeth. "Now!"

He hit the button to fire the deflector pulses and waited to see the
amount of damage it caused knowing that it was just used to disrupt
the shields and other computer circuits but it was still a powerful
weapon to have and use.

As soon as Dior pressed the kill-switch the Chimera lurched the few
hundred kilometers to it's destination in a fraction of a second.
Rojac could see on his rear-view monitor next to his chair how three
torpedo trails phased through where the battleship had just been.

"Firing at will!" Levison cried, his hands a blur of motion over the
panels before him, the Chimera's phasers lashing out with lancing
scarlet beams of angry energy. The energy beams quickly overwhelmed
the Falcore's shields, as the enemy ship's Tactical officers attempted
to realign their weapons to the passing Century-Class vessel. Mike did
not intend on giving them enough time to finish their firing solutions
however and launched a withering barrage of quantum torpedoes from the
Chimera's aft launchers. The warheads struck unerringly on the
Falcore's main engines and detonated in a blinding flash, consuming
the vast warbird in their antimatter explosions. "Captain, target
destroyed," the Cee-Tac reported, allowing a small amount of elation
to show in his voice, that was very quickly replaced by chagrin:
"Incoming!" One of the flanking warbirds had sent a brace of torpedoes
at the fleeing Starfleet vessel and Levison knew from looking at the
sensor displays above his left hand that there was very little chance
of them escaping.

"Engaging warp!" Dior shouted, acting on instinct - and without direct
orders. Her instincts were a moment to late, two torpedoes slammed into

the aft section of the Chimera's saucer section just as she jumped to
warp again.

The ship rocked violently: partly because of the hit she had just
taken, and partly because she had just entered a nebula at warp with
the shields down. The inertial dampeners were overwhelmed, and the
safety overrides installed brought the ship back to impulse speeds.

"Report!" Rojac called amidst the flickering lights and smokey atmosphere.

Walters scrutinized the readouts for a few seconds before replying.
"EPS relays 4 through 17 are fried and the port impulse engine is in a
state best described as crispy. On the readouts it flickers between
3% and zero so best to write it off."

Contacting the damage control teams he had them head to the damage EPS
relays once that was done he moved to pull power away from the damaged
impulse engines just to make sure nothing worse happens with them. The
next step he sent another quick message to the ODCC to start work on
bypassing the damage EPS relays he could some of it from his station
but having more people work on it would help speed up the process.

"Captain, sensors are picking up a pair scouts that have tailed us,"
Carpenter piped up from the science station.
