===== CO's office, Task Force Command area, SB
234: UNITY =====
Sitting in his desk like usual, Shane digged his way through
the many PADDs 'requiring' the attention of Task Force
Commander. He wore a small smile on his face – what was
quite unusual, but his reasons were good. After much sweat
and pointless work, security – under leadership of Captain
Trent – found a hot clue about the terrorist attack on
Explosives cargo bay three.
Now, when it was well written down on a PADD – all seemed
quite clear and easy. Security started to search around the
name the romulan terrorist used to slip past security
control. There were three exact matches in the databanks,
but all three proved to be useless. One was a real Starfleet
NCO from the USS Kalinka that docked on UNITY 13 days ago,
second was a private trader passing Aeran sector a week ago
and the third was an civilian child of the age of three
years.
Some would just stop there and go an another way, but
security went deeper into the name investigation and
searched for similar names both in the way of other first
names as well as up-to-2-letters-variation of the original
name used. There … they've got more then three hundred
matches. Proofing each and single one, security stumbled
across an interesting coincidence. Three persons (two human,
one andorian) had almost an identical personal background.
All came from small agricultural worlds three or four
sectors away from Aeran sector, attained an agricultural
high school, had 2 years of civilian security experience,
two siblings (one was always a 2 years old child), divorced
parents and worked as freelancers. Those agricultural worlds
they came from were not exactly known for their security and
it was to expect that the departing security clearance
control was quite lax.
The second connecting point on those three guys was their
employer. It was some Dental Corp – a company founded half
a year ago, with the HQ set on star base 234 : UNITY. It was
not much known about the Dental Corp. It was founded by an
Andorian business agent and their field of operation was
agriculture counseling. No information about their customers
was published.
In a short message from Captain Trent it was stated that
this company could be just a legal cover for a terrorist
unit. It was clear that Trent just looked for a legal way to
storm the offices of Dental Corp, which were located on deck
748. He already employed the JAG department as well as
UNITY's public affairs department.
Content with the (at last!) some good news, Shane send back
a short message containing words of praise and expectations
to see the outcome soon.
