Captain Cropa Rojac was the last to arrive to the Commodore's summons.
He received the memorandum half an hour ago, after he reviewed the
priority one message that had been sent to him advising him of the
Chimera's next task. Not five minutes after that, a summons was
broadcast throughout starbase UNITY, recalling all Chimera personnel
to return the ship in preparation for departure. Another Chimeran R&RChimera's next task. Not five minutes after that, a summons was

had been cut short.
Rojac arrived to the Commodore's doors after passing through Pakosii,
the retinal scanner, and the armed marine guards. When he entered,
Commander Ohmsford and the Commodore were already seated. Rojac nodded
his apologies and entered the room.

Shane nodded towards Cropa: "Welcome Captain, please take a seat".
Waiting till Cropa seated himself, Shane said: "First I must apologize
for calling both of you on such a short notice, but a higher authority
requested that the Chimera leaves the
UNITY within 24 hours."
"It comes with the territory of Special Forces, Commodore." Rojac
grinned. "To what higher authority do we owe this summons, sir?" He
Shane grinned: "Starfleet Intelligence" he replied, "General orders
are from Admiral Tuvok himself, details of the new mission
granted by General Kira herself, so you see that this mission is QUITE
important."
Rojac crossed his arms. "So when my crew asks who to blame for cutting
their R&R short I know to tell them SFI."
Looking back at Cropa, Shane said: "To be honest, the one to blame is
you … Captain". He hid his grin and hoped that his face remained stone
cold. "It's the inevitable habit of all Chimera's Captains to look for
troubles and looks like that your findings at the compromised outpost
on your last mission leads to more serious things then simple
espionage by the Romulans."
"Why do I have the feeling this involves the Erassians?" Bren frowned.
Shane nodded towards Ohmsford who guessed right. "Yes, from your
orders it's quite plain. It looks like that the Erassians
are involved in this matter. At least … the transmissions ended in
their territory. And since its Special Forces in general and USS
Chimera in particular that the Erassians have most deal with, it's us
who have to investigate the matter."
Rojac furrowed his brow and scratched at his bearded chin. "Are we
suspecting the Erassians of any wrong doing in this
investigation?" He asked. "We're supposed to be on the same side,
unless they think we're throwing them into the fire over the Narendra
incident."
Shane nodded: "Good Question, Captain. This matter requires diplomacyimportant."

rather then blunt strength. True is that we have
an active MDP with the Erassians, but on the other side, the Erassians
denied passage right to a SFI scout ship entering their territory."
Shane chuckled: "Not that I blame them about that, SFI is often a pain
in the ass, but
none the less, it's your task to negotiate a right to travel into
Erassian space and finish the investigation."
Rojac only nodded.
"Please remember that the Narendra accident happened at the most
unfitting time. I had a heated conversation with Ambassador Aynami and
since she's the perfect sample of her people, they won't be happy
about Federation's stand to this fact. Just under us, Federation
council blames the Erassians for the accident and demands punishment
for Aynami and the Commanding officer of the Erassian strike force as
well as a official apology to the Klingon high council. Both of you
know
Aynami or Viktor and can very well imagine their reaction."
"Somehow I don't think the Erassians will issue an apology," Bren
quipped. "They might just end up insulting the Klingons
further."
"You know politics. Everything is possible and we are just figures on
a big chest board, so it *might* happen that the MDP will be cancelledan active MDP with the Erassians, but on the other side, the Erassians

"You know politics. Everything is possible and we are just figures on
while you will be in Erassian territory. That's the reason why you
shall receive a small task force for aid. A single ship can become a
victim of … lets say a tragedy, but four ships not. I think you,
Captain, would do good as the task force CO, but SFI insisted on 1st
Task Force Command involvement, so I charge Commander Ohmsford with
Command over the Task Force.
"Commodore... may I ask why I'm being sent on the mission and not
Colonel PontBrillant?" Bren asked, slightly curious as to
the situation. He had adequate command experience, but this type of
mission would ordinarily fall to PontBrillant.
Shane nodded: "The Colonel has been reassigned two hours ago. Marine
Corps Command needs experienced officers badly
and a man of his qualities was a fine target for their headhunters.
SSF Command approved the transfer and he already left the UNITY."
Looking at Cropa and back at Bren, Shane added: "Both of you know how
short staffed 1st Task Force Command is and you, Commander Ohmsford,
are the most suitable for this job. You have ship command experience
and as former member of R&D best to judge what to do when finding the
target where the transmissions were received.
Your duties on the shipyard will pass over to Commander Rodgers, even
if not officially … please name an acting shipyard CO in your absence.
If TF Science will need something, they can contact you on your
mission and for minor issues they can go to Commander Terek. TF
Engineering will be an issue … but I hope nothing of great importance
will jump up right now."

After that I want you to be on the way. Any questions?"
"Not from me, Commodore." Rojac replied. He turned to Commander
Ohmsford. "It will be nice to serve under you once again, Commander.
Like old times."

Shane nodded: "Very well. Take care out there and do your very best in
this mission. Bear in mind that the fate of out alliance with
Erassians and Klingons might depend on your actions, so be on your
