Jade was in her office working on updating the cycling program that she was planning on using on the Chimera-B the program just need some minor adjustments mainly in the speed of which it would cycle through and some security protocols. The cycling program would only be one part of the communication set-up it would create the secure communication channels she was still working on coming up with an idea for connecting all the ships. The easy part was adding in all the updated and new security protocols into the program, but the hard part was the speed of which the frequencies would cycle through. There would two speeds one when there was no COMM channel open it would cycle through them faster then if a COMM channel was open. This way when the COMM channels are dead no one would be able to hack into them because the frequencies would changing at a faster rate then they would be able to be hacked.
After finishing with the speeds which she would be able to adjust while the program was running she copied it to a tablet and decided to head to the bridge and speak with the Captain. It took her a few minutes to get to the bridge nodding to operation officer of duty she headed down to where the CO and XO chair was, "excuse me Captain do you have a minute?" Jade asked.
"Go ahead, Captain Reese." Rojac said, looking up from Lieutenant Dior's latest course update for passage to the Grand Banks. "What is on your mind?" It was 0430, thirty minuets before the Chimera and her task group were scheduled to be on her way.
"Actually just wanted you to look over the program that well be used for secure communication with the other ships that are going on the mission with us." Jade said handing the PADD to the Captain, "it's called a cycling program it well cycle through a series of frequencies, so that anyone trying to listen in well have a hell of a time trying to hack into the signal. And excuse my language." Jade said blushing a little bit noticing that she used inappropriate language in front of an superior officer and her CO.
"It won't take that much more power it may only take about .25% more power then it does to run communication right now." Jade said, "all the other ships would need to do is input the program let it download and then all ships well sync up with the Chimera automatically." Jade added.
"Very well then. Send it to the other ships and have them implement this program into their systems immediately." Roajc ordered. "Then get in your seat and prep the Chimera's systems for departure. We have less than half an hour." He added after checking his chronometer.
Jade nodded she would have Vaughn send and install the program from the ODCC and also monitor it from the ODCC while Jade would deal with everything else from the bridge. She then headed to her post on the bridge going over check list making sure everything was in order.
Rojac turned to see the other senior officers enter the bridge and start relieving the gamma shift bridge officers. He nodded to them as they made the way past his chair to their respective stations. He turned to Natalia as she sat next to him in her station. "Commander, please call Commander Ohmsford to the bridge. It's almost time we depart."
