Mimi was playing a game of tag with the children. She had been keeping
them busy with the game for about 30 minutes and had already been it
several times to keep the kids interested. She had managed to get far
enough out of reach that Martin who was it at the moment was taking a
couple of seconds to figure out his strategy to get Mimi back.
Unfortunately for Gustav that's when he chose to walk through the
middle of the game. Martin quickly reached out and tagged the
engineer, saying, "Your it!" as he ran away.

Gustav was walking through the camp of escape pods that everyone
called home at the moment going no were in particular, when he heard
some commotion ahead of him in abit of a clearing, he got to the
middle of the area when he and was wondering what was happening when a
little boy hit him on the hip and shouted "your it"! Then promptly ran
off.

Kroitzer looked around and saw Mimi and the two kids, giving a
quizzical look to Mimi he mouthed "What's going on"

"We're playing tag, she answered taking a couple of steps toward
Gustav so she didn't have to yell. "And apparently Martin has decided
that you joined the game."

Martin stopped Mimi's forward progress saying, "Don't get too close or
you'll be it again."

Rachel giggled as she watched the man still standing there, "Has he
forgotten how to run?"

Hearing the little girls taunts Gustav decided that he would join in.

Mimi knelt to answer the question, "No He's just...." She never got a
chance to finish as Martin ran by grabbing Rachel's hand, "Come on
.... he's moving." Mimi watched the children run off in one direction
as she stood and turned.

Gustav was making his way at quite a rapid pace to where Mimi was
getting ready to tag her when Rachel decided she would be brave and
dart in front of him thinking that Gustav wouldn't be quick enough to
tag her.....she was wrong and got a quick tag on he shoulder.

Rachel frowned but ran after Martin for a bit and then tried to tag
Gustav again and then switched to Mimi. After a couple of tries Mimi
let Rachel off the hook and let the little girl tag her. "You two are
just too good," Mimi commented as she began chasing the kids. every
once in a while she would reach out and try to tag Gustav but he
always managed to just get beyond her finger tips.
Laura called to the children to come for lunch and Mimi stopped in her
tracks and took a deep breath.

Looking to Mimi Gustav said "That was fun, never thought I would be
playing tag any time soon" a little out of breath.

"So do you want to join the kids for a bite to eat?" Gustav asked {I
always seem to take Mimi somewhere to eat}.

"I think I'd like something cool to drink and a nap .... but I'd
settle for a drink and a walk with you ... unless you're hungry," Mimi
quickly added.

"Nah I'm not hungry, a walk would be good although are you saying that
a walk with me is like taking a nap" Gustav said with a grin on his
face.

Mimi turned abruptly to face him saying, "NO .... I just meant ...."
her words fell short when she noticed his smile. A light blush covered
her cheeks and she cleared her throat and finish, "that I'd rather
spend the time with you." They walked past a table that had bottles of
water and each grabbed one as they walked by.

As they walked taking in the beautiful landscape Gustav asked "Are you
going to stay on the new Chimera when it gets built".

"I think... I'd like to.... but I'm afraid I did such a bad job
that.... I won't be allowed to," she said with indecisiveness. "Are
you sure the new ship will be a Chimera?"

"Well I hope a new one gets built, it would be a waste of a good name
if it doesn't." Gustav said.

They came across a quiet little place in a small grouping of trees.
"Can we sit for a bit," she asked.

"Sure" Gustav said

"Why do you think you had done a bad job, from where I'm standing I
think you done a fine job, hell you wouldn't have been asked to do the
job if there was any doubt in your abilities" Gustav said trying to
let Mimi know that even if no one had said it to her at least he
thought she done an excellent job.

"Well... I supposed to be in charge and I just delegated everything
out and went to be with Rachel when... things started to go wrong....
but well I knew her parents wouldn't be able to be there.... "

Feeling like Mimi didn't want to talk about it Gustav let that subject drop.

She sat quite close to him as he rested his back against one of the
trees. "It is very pretty here ... its too bad we had to find out in
such a horrific way." She opened her bottle and took a deep pull;
letting the cool water sooth her dry throat. With a small yawn she
rested her head on his shoulder, "How long do you think we'll have to
wait to get a new ship or orders?"

"Yes it is and I don't think it will be to long until we get either
or" Gustav responded looking around him with his arm around Mimi's
shoulder gently stroking her cheek with his thumb.

She nestled a little closer enjoy the tranquility before giving
another little yawn and then a contented sigh. "This is nice."

Feeling more at ease and comfortable than he had in awhile Gustav
agreed which surprised him considering how he and everyone arrived on
this planet although he thought to himself that nothing could beat the
challenges of being an engineer on a starship.

While enjoy the atmosphere and silence Mimi fell asleep with her head
on Gustav's shoulder.
