[USS Chimera] SD 240906.26 | Quorum Space | Joint Log, Capt Chisulo (1TF Tac) & Maj Kinn (1TF Intel)

[Bridge - Deck One - USS Detector]

The beads of sweat on the Captain's forehead glistened under the steady blue lights illuminating the bridge - a visual sign to the bridge crew that they were currently under cloak in a very delicate operation. Major Giella Kinn, the Intelligence Advisor to First Taskforce at the moment, sat in the command chair amidst the tension. Being in command many times himself, Chisulo was proud that she wasn't biting at her nails right now. They were flying in close and undetected to a suspected Romulan controlled station behind enemy lines in a time of war. One mistake, on anyone's part, could result in the death of not only the entire crew, but also the prisoners aboard the station and millions of civilian lives in a retaliatory attack. Tedros did not want to see that happen.

Giella's cat-like eyes were narrowed and glued to the viewscreen, shining a deep dark amber that betrayed the tense feelings she hid behind her calm expression. The tense atmosphere on the bridge was palpable, but all the officers present were well trained to handle these kinds of pressures and they all knew what was at stake.

"Passive scan headed our way." Chisulo called aloud. "All hands hold tight."

A few tense moments went by with half of the crew afraid to breath. No one moved again until Chisulo sounded the all clear. Ship systems were kept to an absolute minimum. Impulse drives got them as close as 5000km to the station, and then were switched off so that the Detector could glide in on thrusters and inertia. Almost everywhere, except Engineering and the Bridge, were ket in the dark in an effort to reduce the small vessels signature to sensors.

"All clear, Captain." Chisulo referred to the Major in the customary title.

Major Kinn let out an audible sigh of relief. "Are we within transporter range, Mr Chisulo?"

"One more five second burst from port and ventral thrusters should put us within the search radius." Chisulo said. "I've also been able to pick up activity from their cargo transporter and I believe I can disguise our own transporters to transmit in a similar fashion to disguise our entrance."

"Good," Giella replied with a nod as she stood up. "Captain Chisulo, you have the bridge."

[Transporter Room - USS Detector]

Several minutes later, a team of sixth figures entered the transporter room, dressed from head to toe in black and wearing wearing dark goggles. They were a team of elite intelligence infiltration specialists, outiftted with latest hi-tech gear and technology and rated among the best in the Federation where hand-to-hand combat was concerned. Leading the group was the lithe form of Major Kinn, the only thing setting her apart from the rest of the team being her slight build and slightly feline manner of movement.

She waited for a moment as the team assembled around her, then nodded at them all. "Remember, the main objective is to discover the location of Commander Summers and extract her. Keep focus of that. All else is irrelevant. Once we have her, we will devise a secondary mission plan if necessary." She watched the silhouetted figures as they nodded. "Activate your recall devices and cloaking field."

Along with the team, Giella activated her recall device which would instantly transport her back to the Detector in case of an emergency, along with whatever she was holding at the time. The device worked differently than conventional transporters, routing the matter stream through subspace frequencies and making it nearly undetectable, but as a result was also very limited and had a maximum operating distance of 10km. It could also only be used once before needing to be reprogrammed.

She looked up as three of the six members of the team shimmered and then disappeared, indicating they ativated their cloaking field. The field bent light around the body and limited heat emission, fooling sensors and making the person invisible for all intensive purposes, similar to a ship's cloaking device. It could easily be detected by a tricorder scan however and prolonged exposure to the neutrinos emitted by the suit was hazardous.

Giella disappeared as she stepped onto the pad and soon it looked as if the room was empty. "Once we have transported in, we will go immediately radio silent," she told them, then tapped her badge. "Kinn to Chisulo, we are standing by. Ready to energise."

[Bridge - Deck One - USS Detector]

"Acknowledged." Chisulo replied, and quickly ran the transporter sequence. "Energizing."

The transporter buffers acquired the away teams signals and sent them into the deep bowels of Padassa Station. Once the sequence was complete Chisulo habitually looked up to see the station on the viewscreen. "Anything?" He asked.

"Negative." The young andorian said from the Tactical Station. "All station systems are running on normal parameters. No signs the transport was detected."

"Good." Chisulo replied, making his way to the command chair and waving the operations officer, a bajoran male, back to his console. To avoid suspicion, Tedros transported Kinn and her minions in one of the higher decked cargo bays. As close to their suspected target zones as he could without striking whoever was monitoring the sensor logs a odd. "And ship traffic?"

"No suspicious advances." The andorian again replied.

"Well then," Chisulo took the seat from which he commanded the battle of V'Tar III once more, "I suppose now we just wait." There was no need to try and track Kinn and her team; they same countermeasures that prevented them from being detected on the station worked the same magic on the Detector's systems as well. I was only if the countermeasures went awry, or if their transporter recalls were activated, that the Bridge crew would know it.

No, all Chisulo could do now was sit and wait.
