Location: Unity Station
Time: Immediately following the meeting with General Sharpe
As he left the General's office Dick Winters nodded once more to the young blonde woman sitting behind the reception desk before stepping out into the corridor. The passage way was fairly empty, given the time of day, so the Lieutenant quickly recognized Nix walking in his direction from the general direction of the turbolift. He shook his head as they passed, smelling the fresh minty aroma that so often accompanied oral hygiene products such as mouthwash.
"Not wasting any time today either, eh Nix?" Dick asked, casting a slightly disapproving glance in the Andorian's direction.
Th'Laxonth offered a devious grin, "Nothin so sinister, my friend. Maybe I just wanted to smell good for the good General." After that he disappeared through the door into the reception area, leaving Winters to resume his walk down towards the lift access.
"Deck Three-Twelve," he commanded as the lift doors closed behind him, and a moment later the small lift car was vibrating under a steady, family hum as it traveled the (relatively) long distance. It did not help that the trip was interrupted several times by officers of higher rank than Winters, which meant the lift controls deferred to their commands before his own.
Twenty minutes after entering the turbolift, the Lieutenant stepped out onto the deck and immediately noticed the large battalion insignias decorating the corridor. Immediately several wandering soldiers threw up salutes, which Winters returned without paying much attention. It was something he had become used to since graduation.
He approached one of them, a staff sergeant by the rank on his neck, and asked, "Captain Spiers' office?"
The man lifted an arm to point down the corridor, "That way, sir. Take the first right and it'll be the first door on the left."
"Thank you, Sergeant," said the Lieutenant before moving down in the direction indicated. With any luck in an hour's time he would have a billet, an assignment, and would be able to meet the people he would be spending every waking hour with.
He turned the corner in the corridor and spotted the door that led into Captain Spiers' office. Stepping up to it he tapped the chime on the control panel and waited…

[Cargo Bay 2, USS Chimera]
Sergeant Drake (NPC) was in cargo bay 2 watching the new stealth
equipment being brought in Drake was instructed by Lt Vaughn to stay
with the equipment until Major Xerxes and Lt Gustav arrived. And then
help out with anything they needed tapping her combadge she contacted
them both at the same time, "Major and Lt this is Sgt Drake
Quartermaster I have some equipment that you two might want to see."
Drake said signing off on the equipment delivery.
***
Gustav was in the middle of a warp core diagnostic when his Comm badge
went off, he knew that it would take another hour at least before the
diagnostic would be complete so he ordered one of his engineers to
monitor the real time results for him and went to find out what drake
was talking about.
***
Anya and Scott were in the middle of a heated discussion over the
weapons supply logistics for the Squadron of M-35A's and how much each
requisition would cost when Drake's message arrived. "Is that the
equipment for attaching the stealth plating to the hull Major?" Anya
asked.
Scott nodded "Quite likely. I requested a few other items as well,
but as to how much Central Command has acceded to is anyone's guess.
I think we should take a look at what has arrived don't you?"
"May as well. I hope to hell they've improved the reliability of that
Stealth Resonance Armour since the last time I saw a test..." Anya cringed
at the memory.
***
"Is this it?" Anya asked Drake as she and Walters arrived.
"Yes it is Major we just need you to type in the code so we can open
the crates and start attaching it to the Chimera." Drake said using
her fingers to point where she wanted the crates to be put. "We're
just waiting on some workerbees to come on over to help get the plates
on the outside of the Chimera." Drake added.
Gustav walked into cargo bay 2 and found some storage containers and
both Major Xerxes and Sgt Drake talking, walking up to the both of
them Gustav said "Reporting as requested Sgt, what can I help you
with".
"You can start with an introduction Leftenant and to think the Federation
considers the Alliance to be uncivilized!" Scott said loudly.
Anya took the padd from Sergeant Drake and typed her Erassian General Access
Code into the padd. The code was recognized and the containers were unlocked.
"Major Walters I present Sergeant Vera Drake, Chimera's QM and Leftenant Gustav
Kroitzer, Chimera's Chief Engineer. Sergeant, Leftenant this is Major Scott
Walters our new XO and the guy you get to work with to stick the
Resonance Armour
on the hull. Remember to salute him and you'll get on fine...now if you'll
excuse me I have to start prepping my Wing for the mission ahead." As
she walked
out the door she gave a wave without looking back. "Have fun!"
"And now we're all alone..." Scott said with a dark smile.
"Major." Drake said saluting the high ranking Erassian officer,
"excuse me I need to
speak with the captains of the workerbees so we can get going on this
project." Vera
said walking over to a console and opening a link to the USS Venus (workerbee).
"Greetings Captain we're getting ready to start installing the armour
if you could dock
we can start loading the workerbee up with men and the equipment
they'll need." Vera
said.
"Roger that Sgt." The Captain said as he started making the final
adjustments to dock
on the Chimera. "Major the USS Venus is making final preparations to
dock and then
we can start loading things up and start installing it." Vera said.
"Well if only it was as simple as merely sticking the armour plate
onto the hull, each
plate has to have a hard connection to the power grid and then has to
be precisely
calibrated to ensure that it works correctly. It may take the
Operations and Engineering
Departments a few all-nighters but if you do this correctly the enemy
won't detect us
until it's far too late."

=/\= and now the conclusion… =/\=
A short while later, they found themselves on the promenade, walking down the bustling street, hand in hand. Both had chosen to wear civilian garb, however, it wasn’t quite as romantic as Richard would’ve liked, due to the standing order from
Chloe had noticed the guards early on, but she hadn't wanted to mention anything. Now that she was sure that they were following them, she quietly asked him, "Why are there guardes following us, Richard?" She was wearing a dark blue dress that went above her kness that was strapless.
Richard sighed. “Standing orders from Task Force Command, all task force staff must be escorted by security, or in my case, by marine sentries. This is due to the recent number of fatalities in Task Force staff, not by natural causes.”
There was a worried look on her face, "Richard..." She said somewhat disapprovingly. "At least your listening and letting them follow you."
“Like I have a choice.” He said. “I’m the second most senior officer in the task force, after Admiral Guzman. My death would do serious harm to the Federation’s image out here.”
"Not to mention serious hurt for me too, you realize." She told him seriously.
“That reminds me, you’re going to have to have security too. They might try to hurt you to get to me.” He sighed. “I never should’ve brought you here.”
"I would of come anyway, and you know it." She told him as they slowly walked down past a few stores that didn't exactally catch her eye.
“You know, you mean a lot to me.” He said. “If anything were to happen to you, I don’t know what I’d do. I already lost one wife to the service…”
"Your not going to loose me, Richard. So stop fussing." She gave his hand a light squeeze to reassure him.
“Oh I don’t know, this crowd is pretty thick, and some of those jewelry stands are pretty sparkly. You might get distracted and we might get separated.” He teased.
She gave a soft laugh. "I think I can manage to make sure I don't loose you." She did see a small clothing shop on the left that did catch her eyes.
“I think my credit account would prefer that I did.” He sighed, jestfully.
"I can still pay for my own things too," she smiled, but she did like it when he payed for her.
“Yeah, I’m sure a newly minted second lieutenant has a very large credit account.” He smirked. “Go on, I saw you looking at that clothing store.” He handed her his card.
She didn't go of his hand. "You know, I thought you didn't want to loose me." She teased him.
“Yeah, but I’m a guy, guy’s don’t go into clothes stores with girls.” He said. “It’s a genetic thing.”
She took his card, kissing him on the lips softly. To anyone watching it was no mistake that she was something to him, this new woman shortly arived.
Richard kissed her back, then drew her close to him and kissed her firmly on the lips. “What say we have dinner on the promenade, then go back for dessert?” He said.
"Where should I meet you once Im done in the shop?" She liked that he didn't mind showing her affection while they were in public- that he wasn't ashamed of her, but liked showing off what was his.
“Meet me at Gilligans.” He said. “We passed it back 2 minutes ago. It’s the Irish pub on the corner by the turbolift.”
"Alright. I wont be long. Maybe get a drink while you wait?" She said as ske kissed him once more before heading into the little shop.
Richard set off down the promenade, occasionally stopping to look in a few shops. Nothing really caught his eye, and in all fairness, it wasn’t exactly like most of the stuff was good quality. However, there was a jeweler who was selling pretty good merchandise.
Chloe made her way into the clothing shop. After a few moments of admiring a red dress, the owner came to her asking her if she wanted to try it on. Nodding with a smile to the woman, she took it to the changing room to do so.
Finding himself examining an equisit looking ring, in a glass case, Richard caught the attention of the shop keeper. “May I look at that one?” He asked. It was a fantastic ring, with a diamond in the middle, surrounded by alternating rubies, sapphires and emeralds. It was perfect, as far as Richard was concerned. “I’ll take it.” He said, and produced his second credit account card. He always carried a spare.
After changing into the dress, Chloe was standing in the shop infront of a large mirror with the shop keeper who was putting some pins into the dress where it would have to be altered to fit her small form.
After getting the pins put into the dress the old shop keeper helped her out of the dress in the changing room as not to stick herself with one of the needles. Soon she had her dress on again. Leaving her name number of her quarters with the woman and paying, the woman said that the dress would be sent to her quarters in two days once she had finished the alterations.
The woman thought it was odd that she would have those quarters, before she remembered who those quarters were- she couldn't remember the name besides that they belonged to some general.
Richard arrived at Gilligans, and found himself a nice table in the corner, got himself a cold beer. Sitting down, he took a long refreshing sip, and waited for Chloe.
Chloe wasn't far behind him soon ariving at the pub. Entering, the waitress showed her where she could find Richard. Smiling she sat down next to him crossing her legs. There wasn't any shoping bags next to her surprisingly.
“Couldn’t find anything you liked?” He asked, innocently.
“No, I found a lovely dress. But it didn't fit me right, so the shopkeeper is taking it in a little to fit me properly. It will be done in two days, and she's going to deliver it to our quarters so I don't have to pick it up." She said with a smile as she handed his card back.
Richard held up his hand. “You keep it, its your card to my account.” He said. “It’s a sign of how much I trust you.” He grinned.
She smiled as she put it away. "Thank you." She was surprised that he was letting her keep it. She knew with her rank and position the credit was small, heck... everyone knew that. "Have you been waiting long for me?" she asked, hoping he hadn't.
“Not all that long.” He said. “I browsed the shops, then came here.”
She didn't ask what he looked at, knowing that most of the time he always just looked at this and that and never really got anything. "That's good." She said with a warm smile. Just at that moment the waitress brought Richard his drink and asked if Chloe wanted one. "One Alcopop please." She said with a smile before the waitress left and she turned her attention to Richard once more.
“Take it easy on the sauce, alright?” Richard said, with concern in his voice. “You’ve been clean for some considerable time, so I don’t want you going off the deep end again.”
She took his hand lightly squeezing it. "Im staying in shallow water, you don't have to worry." At that moment the waitress brought the drink and Chloe gave her another polite smile, "Thank you."
Waitress> "Would you two like something to eat?"
Chloe looked to Richard to see if he was hungry, she was especially after -forgetting- to have dinner the night before and rushing out of their quarters before having breakfast.
“I’ll have the rump steak with fries and peas.” He said.
"I will just have a BLT please." Chloe said, and once again the waitress nodded then left. With her free hand that was holding Richard's she took a sip of her drink.
“So, odd meeting aside, what do you make of Colonel Langhorn?” He asked.
"Im sorry to say, but first impressions are hard to get by. I don't think I can tell you what I think about her untill Im around her more honestly." She told him as her stomach lightly grumbled.
Richard nodded. “Her methods usually prove consistent in the end.” He said.
"She did mention that we fly out at 0900." She didn't have much time for rest before she was due back on duty, her first duty shift aboard her new assignment.
Richard nodded. “That’s when we load your air group aboard the Titan.” He said.
She took anthor small sip from her glass, indeed she was drinking slower than she normally would if it was put in front of her. "Langhorn... how did you come by her... Or was she already here when you came?"
“She was already here.” Richard said. “But I’ve known of her for a while now. She’s what we’d call a rising star. Rapid advancement through the ranks to be an extremely young Colonel. At 34, that’s quite an achievement, believe you me.”
Chloe noded. She knew that being a Colonel at 34 was impressive. She never really cared about rank, she just wanted do what pleased her, and that seemed like was flying. She didn't care what pips were on her uniform as long as she got to fly.
After some short time, the food was brought out and set in front of them. The waitress asked if she could bring them anything else, Chloe asked for some water- not that she had finished her drink, just so she had something to filter her drink some.
Richard tucked into his dinner, realizing that he was actually quite hungry. He ate different parts of the meal together, to combine the flavors, and looked up at Chloe from time to time, marveling inside how much of a lucky SOB he was.
Chloe ate her meal in small bites like normal even if she was indeed very hungry. She still was taking small sips of her drink now and then- her glass had reached about half full.
“So, you given any thought to us?” He asked. “I mean, beyond wanting to have my child.”
"You mean about us getting married?" Chloe asked as she took anthor small sip of her drink before she took a bigger sip of water.
“Well, yeah.” He said. “I mean, in the future.”
"I know I want to spend the rest of my life with you." She told him taking a pause from eating. "I also know I want a child from you." Chloe smiled some. "I've always guessed that we would try to find an assignments that could keep us together.
“You realize that Starfleet won’t take into account our desire to live together if we’re not married, don’t you?” He said, seriously. “With you at the bottom end, they could send you anywhere without much notice. They also tend to frown on subordinates living with their superiors.” He smiled.
"I do realize that. I was lucky enough to be able to get transferred over here." Chloe told him softly. "Darn them always thinking the superiors are always just looking for some lower rank to mess around with." She said with some humor, but went back to being serious. "I want to start a family with you Richard, properly."
“But you should know that I’m a traditionalist. Probably one of the last of them, but I believe that both parents should be married.” He said.
"And I never said I wouldn't marry you." Chloe said, there was something warm on her face.
“However, I know its hardly the time to be talking about it.” He said, smiling.
Chloe gave a smile. "I suppose it isn't." She took her glass of Alcopop taking several small sips out of it, then went to finishing off her sandwhich. "But just to mention, this station wouldn't be a bad place to be positioned for a long while."
“No, it is quite nice actually.” He said.
Chloe soon finished her food, then sat sipping on her drink while Richard finished eating.
Richard finished not long after Chloe, and leant back, sighing with satisfaction. “Good meal.” He said. “Yours?”
"Filling." Chloe said with a smile, finishing her drink.
Richard finished his own drink, and smiled at Chloe. “I want to show you something.” He said, and got up from his chair. “This way.”
Curious Chloe got up with him slipping her hand into his so he could show her the way. "I hope it's not another store, Im done shopping today..."
“No, its not another store.” He said, and lead her over to one of the large viewports on the promenade. “Beautiful, isn’t it?” He said, admiring space.
She leaned into him, resting her body against his. "Yes, it is." She loved space, not just because she was a pilot.
Richard tapped his comm. Badge. “Sharpe to Eagle one, operation dinner out is a go.” With that, he put his arm around Chloe’s shoulders, and watched out as a wing of fighters, that had been out on patrol around the station, grouped together. They began flying in a complex maneuver in front of them.
Chloe intently watched them fly, the jelliously was on her face from them being able to be out there flying. But her being able to be next to her lover watching them made up for it. "I envy them." she said smiling.
“Keep watching.” He said. At that moment, the lead fighter lit the exhaust plasma that had been deployed as part of the maneuver, so that it spelt something out in space, in bright red letters. “MARRY ME CHLOE” was emblazoned across space for all to see. At this moment, Richard dropped to one knee, pulled out a small box, and produced the ring he’d purchased earlier on. “Chloe Merau, will you marry me?” He asked.
Chloe gasped for a second seeing what was being spelt out, then looked down at Richard who was on one knee asking her to marry him. At first she had a shocked look on her face. She didn't actually expect him to propose, especially not so soon. After a moment a extremely pleased smile shone on her face. "Yes, Richard Sharpe. I will marry you." She said warmly.
With that, Richard grinned from ear to ear, and slipped the diamond ring on her finger. He stood up, took her in his arms, and gave her the deepest soul kiss he could.
She sliped her arms around his neck kissing him back, her happiness definitely showed, not to only him but if anyone were to look at here they would see that she was indeed happy.
After a few minutes, they parted from the kiss, and Richard grinned at her. “We’ll do the deed after this mission.” He said. “So, would you like to go back to our place?” He grinned at her.
"More incentive to return from the mission." She said with a soft and warm smile. To answer his question she started to lead him back to their quarters.
“Remember, we need to get some sleep tonight, as we have an early start.” Richard said.
"Don't fuss, Richard." She said with a twinkle in her eyes.
“Oh, I’m not fussing.” He said. “Just we can’t do an all-nighter like we did last night.” He said, a mischievous grin on his face. “Regardless of one’s personal feelings on that matter.”
"I will let you get *some* sleep." She said with a smile as she lead him into their quarters.
“I love the emphasis on ‘some’” He said, grinning.

The tail end of the journey to Starbase Unity had been completely uneventful; in fact, Second Lieutenant Dick Winters would have called it boring, had he actually been asked. However that time had been appriciated, as it allowed him time to review the files on the station and it's crew. So when they arrived, the Lieutenant knew exactly who to report to.
With his belongings being taken to his officer's billet on the station, Dick was allowed to report to General Sharpe without any baggage. And so he had made his way throught he corridors, and taken a turbolift to the outlet nearest the General's offices.
He entered the reception area and nodded at the woman sitting behind the desk. "Lieutenant Winters to see General Sharpe," he said, standing at ease. "He should be expecting me."
“He is indeed.” Came the pleasant voice of Richard’s aide. “Go right in.”
"Thank you," replied Winters, again offering a quick nod in thanks before moving to enter the office. The doors parted as he approached them and the Lieutenant walked through the portal, stopping about three paces from the General's desk.
Standing at stock-still attention, the young man called out, "Sir, Second Lieutenant Richard D. Winters, reporting as ordered, sir!"
Sharpe cringed when he was shouted at in a deafening manor. “Geez… I can tell you’re just out of
The young man went into the relaxed stance of 'at ease,' with his hands clasped at the small of his back and nodded, "Thank you, sir."
“So, you’re one of my new officers that command sent me to bolster my ranks?” He asked, casually. “You lot always seem so young.”
"Sir, yes, sir," Winters said with yet another nod, unsure how to take the General's statement. He added, "And that comes with the territory, sir. They recruit us young, sir. Just more time for us to make the Corps proud, sir."
“Well, I was much younger than you when I enlisted.” He smirked. “Have a seat, Winters.”
The young man hesitated for only a moment before he gave in and sat down in a seat across from Sharpe, though his stature was still tense, "Thank you, sir."
“What’d you specialize in, at
"Beyond the standard training, sir, I also studied battlefield medicine and advanced infantry tactics," Dick stated matter-of-factly. "As well I received multiple marksman notations during firearms training."
“Hmmm…” Richard carried on reading. “I see here that you took the extra year’s airborne training. Enjoy that?”
The Lieutenant took a moment before responding, "It was a thrill, sir." In fact the only reason he had taken on the extra training was to say that he had trained along side the best there was; that he actually enjoyed it had been a surprising secondary consequence.
“Well, as it so happens, I have a battalion of airborne marines. How would you like to serve there, instead of a regular line unit?”
"I..." began Winters, a hint of excitement escaping for just a moment before he recovered. "I would find that very agreeable, sir."
“Good.” Richard said, tapping something into a PADD. “I’m assigning you to Easy Company, 2nd Battalion. You’re to report to Captain Spiers, on deck 312.”
Jumping from his seat the Lieutenant snapped back into attention, "Sir, yes, sir."
Richard handed Winters the PADD. “Make sure you’re ready, Winters. We’re moving out in fourty-eight hours. You and the rest of the second battalion are coming with me to Passada.”
Throwing up a crisp salute, Dick responded, "I'll be ready, sir. You can count on me."
“Dismiss.” Richard said.
The Lieutenant lowered the salute, executed an about-face, and marched from the General's office. His next stop would be deck 312, home of Easy Company. Perhaps after that he would get to see where he would be living from now on.

Maj. General Richard Sharpe
Commanding Officer
1st MEF
&
Second Lieutenant Richard “Dick” Winters
Platoon Commander, First Platoon, Easy Company
2nd Battalion, 1st Regiment, 1st MEF
Second Lieutenant Richard Winters stood in the head attached to his guest quarters, leaning over the sink with a razor in his hand. Shaving had been the first thing done every morning for the last four years, as any self-respecting Marine always looked his best. And while there were newer, more modern methods of removing the ever-growing follicles from his chin and neck, the young man had always preferred the efficiency of a classic sharpened razor blade. Nothing else seemed to get as close.
After shaving came his shower, with which he admittedly allowed himself to take his time. During his four years of OCS he had not once been allowed to linger in a shower. It had always been get in, get clean, and get the hell out. So prolonged showers were a luxury he allowed himself.
By the time he had finished his shower and pulled on his clean, green-collard duty uniform, the chronometer read 0600; time to head to chow. Eating was another luxury Winters had learned to cherish during Officer Candidacy School. Meal times were a privilege during training, just something else that used up valuable time that could be spent running the Currahee Trail or learning about yet another miniscule, unimportant Starfleet policy regarding the folding of skivvies.
So food and drink had become something of a treasure to the Lieutenant since leaving Quantico four weeks ago. He had started sampling foods from across two galactic quadrants, and had no intention of letting up soon.
Winters offered a nod to the host who stood at the entrance to the galley as he entered the mess hall. He found a seat off to the side near the floor-to-ceiling transparent aluminum viewports that lined the frontend of the chamber, and waited for a server to visit.
"Two Denebian eggs, over easy, with Zabo sausage, two pieces of toast, and half a Kava fruit, please," the man requested. "Oh, and a glass of grape juice."
"Coming right up, Lieutenant," said the server as he took the order back to the host. Most of his order would be replicated, he knew, but the toast and (possibly) the fruit would be fresh.
"Mornin, Dick," said a voice approaching from behind him. Given the use of Winters' nickname, there were only a few options on who it could be. "Sorry I'm late."
A moment later a man sat down across from Winters. He was Andorian, with short-cut white hair and two jointed antennae sprouting from his head; and he too wore the green-collared uniform of a Starfleet Marine Corps officer, supported by the gold bar fastened to it. Second Lieutenant Larvinix "Nix" th'Laxonth had been a member of Winters' graduating class at Quantico.
"Hey, Nix," replied the human, looking up as his food was placed on the table before him. There was friendly sarcasm in his voice as he added, "Nice of you to join me."
"I'll have what he's having, and a black coffee, please," the Andorian said to the host as Winters began eating. "And you're up kinda early aren't ya? I mean, we just graduated, Dick. Relax a little, will ya?"
Chewing a forkful of egg, Winters raised an eyebrow at his friend.
Th'Lanxonth sighed as he protested, "What? We earned it. Four years of hard work. I'm gonna relax now."
A moment later the server returned with Nix's order and placed it in front of him. As soon as the server stepped away the Andorian reached down below the table and returned with a small flask. The container was just small enough to fit, say, in the top of his uniform boots. With a quick motion he uncapped it, poured a small amount of its contents into his black coffee, and returned the flask to his secret hiding space.
"New sweetener, Nix?" asked Winters before eating on a piece of his toast.
The Andorian leaned over the table and, with a mischievous grin on his face, replied, "You know, Dick, you humans have a lot to be proud of. This stuff is called 'V-A-T 69.' It's a blended malt whiskey. Wonderful stuff."
"Vat," said Richard after swallowing his toast. "It's pronounced VAT 69." The Lieutenant had never been one to drink much, except the occasional synthehol on special occasions, he had made a point long ago to read up on such beverages; they had been a long-standing tradition of serving in the military.
"Oh," said Nix, looking down at his coffee. "Thanks."
"And you shouldn't be drinking that on duty, Nix. Not exactly sure how our Company commander's gonna feel about that."
With a smirk the Andorian quipped, "Then is now a bad time to tell you that I've got six bottles of this stuff stashed in your billet?"
Winters sighed and shook his head, not being able to help but grin. Th'Laxonth had been his bunkmate in the academy, and the two had instantly hit if off despite their obvious differences. Nix came from a family of wealth and power on Andoria, which greatly differed from Dick's own childhood of mediocrity.
"Should've known you'd do something like that," he chuckled, finishing his eggs and pulling the kava in front of him. Its sweet tartness was welcome after the saltiness of the sausage. "We'll be there tomorrow morning, by the way. Got the news from the duty officer this morning."
Still grinning the Andorian replied, "Sounds good. Can't wait to meet the hard ass over our company. Until then, how about a trip to the Holodeck? I hear that the Romulans may make another pass and Starbase 12 this afternoon. "
It had been a tradition for the last six months, when they had first begun receiving Holodeck privileges at Quantico; they were playing out roles as fighter pilots in the Romulan Wars of the Twenty-Second Century.
"Count me out, Nix," replied Winters, finishing his fruit and standing up. "I've got a lot to do before we reach Unity, and I want to be prepared when we arrive…"

Getting back to her and Richard's quarters she went in floping down on the couch. She was wearing the new uniform that they wore here at the station, but she had put that on before she had left their quarters. She still looked somewhat frazzled by her encounter with Alexia.
Richard came out of the kitchenette, carrying two mugs of tea, and placed them down on the coffee table. “Hey hun, how’d it go?” He asked, sitting down on the armchair next to the couch.
"That woman is something else." Chloe said shaking her head as she took one of the mugs of tea off the coffee table. "I don't think I've ever seen anyone like that."
“She’s one of the best pilots in the SSF.” Richard mused. “Over two thousand combat flight hours. Its impressive to say the least.”
"That doesn't mean she isn't... strange." Chloe gave some thought in to her last word but could only come up with one word to sum it up nicely.
“Well, everyone’s a little strange.” Richard smirked.
She sipped some of the tea in the mug after it had cooled. "Do you even want me to tell you about it?" Chloe mused. "I think you would be jellious." She smirked.
“Oh go on then.” Richard said, sipping his own tea.
"She thought that she should give me some sort of test, so she gave a very unorthadox... test." She stoped for a moment to see if she could get an edge to how he would react.
“What kind of test?” He asked, casually.
"She tired making pass at me." Chloe scofted. "To see 'what kind of a person I am.'" She said the first in a way that made it sound like nothing at all.
Richard laughed. “Oh man, I knew she was crazy when I hired her, but that’s just funny.” He exclaimed.
Chloe raised an eyebrow. "I didn't think it was that funny at the time, Richard." She told him over a sip of the tea.
“You want me to have a word with her?” He asked, seriously.
Setting her mug back on the coffee table she stood up moving next to him as he sat in the chair. "No, don't worry yourself about it." She said with a smile as she kissed him on his cheek. She looked at her stuff still sitting by the doorway. Last night she didn't have much time for unpacking and she hadn't needed anything out of her duffles at the time anyway.
"I think I should unpack those now." She said nodding toward her bags.
“Might be a good idea.” Richard said. “Might make you feel more at home.”
"Would you mind if I shuffled some of your stuff around in the drawers to make some room?" Chloe was sure he wouldn't mind, but she still wanted to ask him and not seem rude.
“Sure.” He said. “Once you’re done, you want to explore the promenade with me?”
"I noticed a lot of the little shops when I arived, so I wouldn't mind at all." She said with a smile before she walked into the bedroom with one of her bags to start putting her clothes away. She normally liked being able to wear civilian clothing when ever she didn't have to wear her uniform.
Richard followed her into the bedroom to give her a hand putting her things away. He moved some of his things across the room to another drawer pack, so she had her own dresser, and made room in the closet for her large collection of clothes and shoes.
She was quiet mostly as he helped her, but then she looked to him to ask a question. "Richard?"
“Yeah?” He asked, looking at her.
"You only have one daughter, correct?" she knew this already but wanted to ease into the real question she wanted to ask.
“Yes.” Richard said. “Whom I will be inviting to visit us shortly.”
As she was finishing putting the last of her things she asked, "Have you ever wanted more children... do you want anthor child?"
Richard stopped what he was doing and looked at her. “Is this your way of telling me you’re pregnant?” He asked, suddenly.
She looked to him shaking her head. "No, it's not. However it is my way of saying that I want to be Richard." She looked at him when she said this. The look on her face said this was important to her.
Richard walked over to her and took her hands in his. “Nothing would make me more proud than to father a child with you.” He said. “But I want to do what’s right by you, and the child, and we should be married before we have children. I also want you to be sure you’re ready…”
At the moment she only wanted one child, but it made her pleased that he used the plural form. "Im mentioning it because Im ready to have a child. I wouldn't of said that I wanted one otherwise." The only thing she wasn't completely sure about at the moment was getting married, however she wasn't going to mention that to him at the moment.
“Well, one thing at a time.” He said, smiling. Inside he was racked with turmoil. She was so young and vibrant, and he… well… wasn’t.
She gave him a light peck on the lips, "Yes, one thing at a time. But do keep in mind Richard, I don't want to wait forever. I want a child with you." She said then looked around, seeing that her stuff was all put away. She had gotten rid of most of her stuff before she left the
“Yeah, I’m ready.” He said. “Just remember that I want us to be married before we have any kids, alright?”
"And if this is your way of asking me to marry you, you better try again later. I want to be asked proper mind you." She said, hoping that will postpone that part for now.
“Nah, when I pop the question, I want it to be an occasion that you’ll remember for the rest of your life. Instead of some conversation in our bedroom just before we go shopping.” He said, smiling.
"Alright, then." She said with a soft smile. "Show me around then." She told him in a soft manner as she moved with him twoard the door to their quarters.
