[USS Chimera] SD 240908.08 Duty log, Cdt Elbrun

OOC: Forwarding on behalf of Cadet Elbrun.

-= USS Morgan =-

''Andrus!'' Someone said as he was being rughed up from sleep. Andrus opened his eyes instantly. ''We're here.'' Stephan told him as he pointed out the small view port they had on their left.

Andrus looked out the window and saw starbase Unity loom-in closer as the transit shuttle prepared for it's final approach and release a bunch of eager cadets to their first assignments. The cadet loked down at the PADD he had not released since he got on the ship. It betrayed his nervousness, but the more experienced staff knew it all too well. ''USS Chimera.'' He said outloud, more to hiself than Stephan.

''Yeah, no kidding.'' Stephan picked up. '' I can't believe we are being separated after four long years.'' He sighed, but smiled none the less. A cadet in Starfleet could not really chose where he wanted to go and Stephan would stop at SB Unity, as security officer. The two men had found over the years quite a few common interests which had bonded their friendship. Andrus knew they would see each other again, so he did not fret about it.

Soon enough, the ship connected to it's dcking port and the cadet where ushered out of the vehicule. ''Welcome to Unity and good luck with your careers.'' Their pilot had said. A starfleet officer was waiting for the group, once they cleared the landing facilities. He expertly redirected the cadets to their various departments and ships.

Moments after their farewell and well wishes, Andrus was on his way to the USS Chimera with a purpose in his stride. The man had told him she was about ready to leave on assignment and this cadet did not want to miss his ship, on his first day. He soon arrived and he presented his PADD to the security officers at the personnel access point. ''Cadet Elbrun requesting boarding authorisation as per orders.'' He said.

''Yeah, yeah, don't worry about kid.'' The man quickly scanned the document, obviously knowing what he was doing and having done so once too many times, but he retained a sense of purpose, far from the image of the bored security officer. It was good and bad, Andrus thought to himself. Andrus just shut up and waited for the man to give him his PADD before proceeding...
