It was time to sort out the nitty gritty details of Operation Magna, and that involved assigning a crack marine unit to the USS Chimera, who would be spearheading the assault on the nursery. It also gave Richard a chance to get to meet Captain Rojac, whom he expected to be working with in the future.
He boarded the Chimera with little difficulty and made his way up to the bridge and, logically, the captain's ready room.
"Come." Rojac called. He expected it to be Bio, his yeoman, but thie silhouette that filled the door frame was much larger than she was. He looked up, and stood to salute when he saw who his guest was.
"General," Rojac said, "welcome aboard the Chimera. I'm sorry I wasn't there to personally greet you at your arrival."
Richard waved the man to sit back down. " It's quite alright Captain. Richard said, entering the room. I wouldn't want to take time out of your day for pointless ceremony, when you're hard at work planning what could only be said one of the most decisive battles of the war to date." His grin was warm and friendly as he sat down on one of the chairs facing Rojac's desk.
The young Captain took his seat as well - and blanked the embedded terminal on is desktop so that he could focus his full attention on the flag officer in front of him. "Captain Chisulo got the broad strokes down - I'm just putting in the touch-ups." Rojac smirked. "How can I help you, General?"
"In the briefing with Captain Chisulo, he indicated that it would be advantageous if you had, at your disposal, a special forces capable detachment of marines, should you require them." Richard said. "After all, intel does imply that there is a base in there, and sending forces into download the computer's databanks would be a major coup for Starfleet."
Rojac brought his hand to his chin and rubbed at the stubble there. "That could be useful. Especially since my new CSec hasn't completely settled in yet." He put the stray hand back down to the table. "I assume you have a unit in mind."
"I do indeed." Richard said. "I'll be assigning Lt. Major Shao to your ship, assuming you approve. She's in command of a special operations capable platoon, so not a massive burden on accommodation. I'm sure you can stick them in a cargo bay or something."
"That can be arranged." Rojac said - pulling up an interactive schematic on his desktop. He touched the area on the diagram for Cargo Bay Three and browsed the menu detailing the different setups the room could be converted to accommodate. "I can have operations send a team down to begin the change within the hour. How soon can I expect the Lt.Major?"
"I expect in four to six hours." He said. "Once I inform her of the assignment. I wanted to check with you first, before I told her."
"We'll have her team's accommodations ready in four hours." Rojac said as he typed the orders in and forwarded them to Operations on the Bridge. "We'll contact her when we're Ready to beam her aboard."
"Very well." Richard said. "In that case, I wish you all the best, Captain." Standing, Richard extended a hand. "Good hunting."
Rojac returned the firm shake. "You as well, General. Enjoy your trip to Padassa. I here it's... nice." He smirked.
"Oh yes, Klingon's to the left of me, Erassian's to the right, and Romulan's in front of me. It'll be like Ibiza." Richard chuckled.
"Down a bloodwine for me, General." Rojac said. "And stay away from the gagh."
"You kidding? Gagh is fantastic when its warm!" Richard exclaimed. "Just have to remember to take my worm tablets in the morning."
