Boaz left his lunch with Miss Lucy curious about her. He was
tired, as he hadn't slept much on the trip here. "Computer,
quartermaster's office please." It gave him directions. He
arrived there and asked for a room.
"Sir, I don't see you on our expected guest list. Were you
scheduled to be here, sir?"
"No, I wasn't. I decided as a last minute thing and then
forgot to notify your commander. I'm just visiting here to
get a feel for the station and see what's here. I don't
need to see your commander unless he just demands it. If he
does I understand. I just need someplace to sleep."
The man input this information into the computer and waited.
"This is may take a moment." He soon had quarters assigned.
Boaz thought about Lucy as he headed to his room. Walking in
he saw the computer blinking that he had a message. 'Miss
Fleming sent me a note already?' he wondered. It was a
simple welcome message, nothing more. He went in and laid
down to sleep. Lucy's face slipped in and out of his dreams.
Nothing specific just her face floating through. She's the
head nurse. At one point he got up and sent a note to Miss
Fleming. "Miss Fleming, looking forward to our tour of the
station. Boaz."

*Main Infirmary. Staff lounge*
"I don't believe that at all..." Lucy said "....you're
making it up." She waa entering the staff lounge and looked
back over her shoulder, laughing at the man who followed
her.
"I do not lie." he said and grinned at her as she flopped
down onto one of the comfortable sofas. He strode past her
towards the replicator and without asking requested two
coffees, both black and sugar free. When he turned back,
Lucy had her eyes closed but she opened them and sat up from
the relaxed position she had adop ted as he drew near.
"Thankyou." she said reaching up to take one of the steaming
mugs. "You're welcome." Scott replied and took a seat for
himself opposite to hers.
"Mmmm...I needed that." she stated a few moments later,
having drunk some of the strong coffee and savoured its
taste.
"Busy night." Scott replied.
They sat mostly in companionable silence, enjoying their
drinks and the brief break in their shifts but the peace was
soon shattered by an insistent 'bleep' from the terminal set
in the unit nearest the door. Scott got to his feet, mug in
hand. " I'll get it." he said.
"If it's Harley tell him I'm not here!" Lucy said. " I can't
be doing with his endless questions at the moment." Scott
glanced back to her and saw she was curled onto the sofa and
showed no intention of moving.
He turned back to the terminal and pressed a couple of
buttons.
"Personal message" he said " For Miss Lucy Fleming." She
looked across at him in surprise. " Is it?" she asked and
swinging her feet to the floor, she stood up and walked
towards him.
He took her mug as she tapped the keys in turn to access the
message and though he did not read what it said, he saw her
pause and wondered at her expression. "Not bad news I hope?"
he said. She looked at him then quickly closed the screen.
"No..no it's not." she said shaking her head. "It's from
someone I met earlier. I'm going to act as a tour guide
tomorrow."

Boaz woke up from his dreams. Th ere were two things that
remained constant in them. The first he would probably never
get rid of, memories. Memories of battles he had been in
from the time he first joined the Bajoran resistance,
through the time he served in starfleet, up until he became
the comandant of the Bajoran military. The second was a much
more recent and pleasant memory, the face of one Lucy
Fleming. Her face seemed to have a calming effect on the bad
stuff of the military memories. 3 P.M. couldn't come soon
enough. "Computer, send one red rose to Lucy Fleming when
she awakens for the day. He spent his time studying the
layout plans of the station.
** Lucy Flemings Quarters*
"Coming !!Coming!!" Lucy called rather crossly as she headed
for the door. She was running late, having ignored the wake
up alarm and so had slept longer than she had intended. She
stumbled towards the door, one shoe on and the other half
off and opened it with a curt " Yes?" only to see a smiling
figure in front of her holding an exquisite red rose in his
hand. "Miss Fleming?" he enquired and when Lucy nodded he
offered the bloom. " This is for you." he said. "Oh." Lucy's
surprised showed. " Thank you" He bowed and walked away as
she closed the door. The scent was devine and she looked
with interest at the little gold card attached to the stem.
It said simply 'See ya soon. Boaz' Lucys expression was at
first puzzled and then pleasantly surprised. {Mmmm...} she
thought as she carried the rose into her bedroom.

Boaz glanced at his chronometer as he entered the little
restaurant. She should be here in a couple of minutes. He
found the table they had shared and ordered a mug of spring
tea and asked to have her drink delivered when she arrived.
He relaxed thinking as he waited for her to arri ve.
**
Lucy checked the chrono at the end of the promenade as she
passed it, pleased to see she was in fact now early for she
hated to be late. She was surprised though to see Boaz
already seated at the little table they had shared the day
before. He was watching passersby and didn't see her
approach until she stood almost next to him.
"Hello." she said in her quiet, soft voice. " I hope I
haven't kept you waiting long."
Boaz came to his feet and held her chair smiling at her.
"No, not long at all. In fact I think you're a couple of
minutes early. I was just enjoying watching the people
walking by. It's amazing what you can learn about people by
just watching them. How was your night? At work that is."
She sat down on the offered chair which he held for her in a
gallantly mannered way. She saw him make a signal to the
waiter before taking his own seat.
"Thank you for the rose.." she said "..it's beautiful."
The waiter delivered her a drink she always had. "For a
beautiful lady. I'm glad you liked it. Would you like lunch
before we start around the station? Or just another drink?"
"Just a drink will be fine thank you." Lucy replied and
glanced at him as the waiter appeared , ready primed, with
their glasses. Although she was flattered by the attention
of his compliments and flowers, she thought he seemed to be
moving very fast.
"The night was busy. " she said in answer to his question. "
If you're interested in it, I can show you the infirmary
later but is there any place you particularly want to see?"
"Not really. It's a new station and I just want to see what
there is that might be new. I can always use new ideas on
Bajor. We can go if you're ready." He waited for her
answer before he stood.
She set her glass back onto the table with the drink hardly
touched.
" Alright." she said pleasantly "..perhaps we can start at
the lower viewing gallery." and as he moved to hold her
chair when she stood, added " ..you can see the new shipyard
from there."
