After finding a new uniform and a winter jacket Jade went looking for
anyone not really sure who was the ranking officer at the site they
were at. Walking down the street heading for the makeshift triage
centers she saw Jones and Kroitzer looking around confused. "Lt's what
are you doing?" Jade asked not mad but was hoping that they would be
looking for wounded and helping them get to the triage centers.
"My arm was malfunctioning after punching through the panel, I need to
repair it" Gustav said pointing to the appendage next to him.
"Ummm....." Was all Jones (NPC) could spill out he was still in a
state of shock that Jade made out of the building with Lt Dior.
Jade nodded, "alright lets get back to the triage centers and we can
set-up a command center there as will." Jade said deciding to take
Command until higher ranking officer could be found.
Lieutenant Castillo, seeing people he recognized came walking up. His
uniform was dirty and dried blood laced across his forehead. "We need
to get out of here", he said clearly still shaken by the explosion. "I
heard someone saying there might be another bomb".
Jade just looked at the Lt, "where did you get this information Lt?"
Jade asked reverting back to her Marine training knowing if there was
another bomb they would need to find it.
Charly looked at Marine Captain, "WHO CARES", he shouted, "If its
true then it hasn't gone off yet, maybe its on a delay, waiting for
the emergency teams to respond to kill even more people". He looked
around at the others, hoping he wasn't coming off hysterical.
Gustav listened to the Lt then turned to Jade "Look Captain I think we
need to make finding the other bomb a priority but we need someone who
can disarm it"
"Agreed Lt." Jade said looking around and taking a few deep breaths
all of this was happening to fast but she just remembered her SF and
Marine training and that brought a calm over her.
Jones just stood there with his mouth open imagining things getting
worse, "I think we should head to the triage centers and re-group
before we even try to locate this other bomb." Jones said.
"Fine", Castillo said quickly, "You guys can do whatever the hell you
want, but I'm getting out of here and going somewhere safe", he said
turning around. "I didn't sign up for this...", his voice trailing
off.
Jade stood their in disbelief, "Marine get back here!" Jade shouted,
"you're a Marine this is exactly what you signed up to do." Jade said
walking up to the Lt. "You're going to help make sure the people of
Andor and everyone else at this conference is safe until
reinforcements arrive. IS THAT CLEAR!" Jade said looking directly in
the Marines face.
Castillo was caught off guard, he didn't expect this largely
unassuming woman to be screaming at him. He looked back at her and
paused, "YES MA'AM', he finally spat back, defeated, though clearly
not happy about it.
Gustav just looked at Jade a little surprised as he has never seen her angered.
"Good." Jade said turning back to the rest of the group, "we need to
get back to the triage centers there we can locate a map and start
forming search parties for wounded and the explosive." Jade said,
"Castillo did you receive any EOD training?" Jade asked the only other
Marine.
The Lieutenant sighed and looked up as he stepped back to the group,
"Yeah, I did", Castillo answered shaking his head, recalling the
explosives training he received. He leaned his head to the side,
"This bitch is gonna get me killed", he whispered to Jones, already
regretting admitting his knowledge with explosives.
"Jones and Kroitzer after we get search groups formed I want you guys
out helping with the wounded." Jade said as she started walking over
to the triage centers.
"Aye Captain" Kroitzer replied "Do you want a command center set up as
well?" he added.
= Triage/Command Center, Andor =
Jade allowed the snide comment to pass, "good." Jade said, "Yes but
let's have Jones set it up while you lead the search parties for the
wounded." Jade said as they walked into the triage center. "Alright
right here we'll make it the command center." Jade said decking inside
an empty tent.
"Jones I need you to go find me a map of the city." Jade said
pointing to a makeshift console. "Kroitzer I need you to go and find a
doctor and see where they are at with the wounded." Jade said. "And
you." Jade said pointing to Castillo, "I need you to tell me
everything you know about this bomb.
Jones rushed to the console and started working on locating a map but
the console wasn't really attached to any database the only thing it
was attached to was a power source. But he continued to figure out how
to get into the cities database to pull up a map.
Castillo shrugged his shoulders, "All I know is that I overheard a
conversation as I was...", he paused and chose his words carefully,
"Moving to a safer location". He swallowed, "but something that
looked like a bomb was seen in the northern complex", he pointed to
buildings in the distance that had no damage to them, "You know, I'm
sure the local security has already been alerted, and I'm sure they
can handle it". He smiled and looked around for something to drink.
Jade was getting sick of this man's attitude so against her better
judgment she grabbed his uniform collar and slammed him into the
console that Jones was working on. "Listen to me one more smart ass
comment like that I'll make sure you'll never see the outside world
again." Jade said pinning him on the console.
Charly fell back onto the equipment, he was caught off guard and was
afraid to actually say anything. The look on her face told him she
meant what she said, and as the embarrassment of allowing himself to
be gotten the better of by a woman again wore off, he finally uttered,
"OK", and hoped she would let him go.
Jade let go of the Marine, "if I hear one more I'm going to run away
I'm going to make sure you get dishonorably discharge and spend some
time behind a force field." Jade said wanting to drive that point
home. "Now go and find some tools that we can use if we do find an
explosive device." Jade said.
Charly pushed himself back up from the equipment he had been pressed
against and straightened his shirt. He glanced around the room then
back at the Captain in front of him. "Yah, OK", he stuttered and then
quickly left the tent.
