[USS Chimera] SD 240904.21 || Bridge Duty Log || USS Chimera NCC96899-C

[Bridge - Deck One - USS Chimera NCC96899-C]

"Captain," Lieutenant Rayna Dior called from the helm station at the fore of the bridge, "we are dropping out of warp at Nav Point 1, just outside the Grand Banks."

Captain Cropa Rojac looked up from the armrest console he was reviewing over to his Chief of Science."Mr. Ra-Zerphimi, report."

The Efrosian's eyes darted wildly across the readings beneath his thick whie mane. He reported in his usual jovial tone of voice, a trademark of the efrosian people, "The Rapier, Magellan, and Eagle are in formation off our port bow, Captain. I'm picking up thick interference from the stellar activity. Sensors can't penetrate deep within the system. We'll have to move in closer to pick up any Erassian forces."

"Communications will be extremely limited in range once we're inside the Grand Banks also.  The entire Nebula is one massive mess of radiation, energy storms and gases you wouldn't want to be breathing.  I'd highly advise against using transporters full stop and shuttles for the most part as the passengers won't arrive as the left.  If you bear with me a moment whilst I negotiate with the local Treasury Satellite for up to date map data for the Straights which are the relatively safe transit routes.  There we go four corporate transit permits with up to date maps and weather reports, a steal at Seventy Million Erassian Pounds billed directly to Starbase Unity's resource account.  Hopefully Commodore Guzman will enjoy the hamper that the Financial Ministry will send out as a thank you for the purchase.  Oh and normally you wouldn't use shields when transiting through the Grand Banks as it attracts energy strikes but we kind of have to use them as Starfleet hulls will be ripped open like a tin can due to how thinly their built so expect them to take a bit of a pounding." Anya said although she hid the grin when mentioning the price of the permits.

"Perhaps if we depolarise the hull plating it might attract less electrical charges," Natalia suggested. "Reese, can you adjust the shield frequency to compensate."

"I'll adjust the shields frequency to make sure we don't attract more of the storm than we want." Jade said tapping at her console adjusting the shield frequency knowing that she would have to this constantly which means she was going to be delegating some tasks to the people in the ODCC. "But like Captain Xerxes said we'll be getting some strikes from the storms." Jade added letting the Captain know that there would be no way to completely get through this without any strikes from the storm.

"Do it." Rojac ordered. He then turned around to the eager new cadet at starboard Tactical station. "Cadet, go to yellow alert and raise shields."

"Aye sir" replied Archer, we are now at yellow alert and our shields are at maximum efficiency.  Awaiting further orders at your discretion Captain Rojac.

Natalia pressed the ship-wide comm button on her and spoke. "All damage control teams, report to standby on shield emitters."

"Sir, incoming hail." The communications officer at one of the auxiliary stations called. "From the Magellan."

"On screen." Rojac ordered as he stood to face the viewer.

Captain Frederick Mayo's image appeared on the Chimera's viewscreen.

"Captain Rojac, we're ready to take up station outside of the nebula," Mayo said. "We'll keep aggressively scanning the area just in case anyone decided to pay us an unexpected visit."

"Acknowledged, Captain Mayo." Rojac replied. "We've just purchased our permits for transit and are preparing to enter the nebula. We'll try and keep in touch once every six hours or so. Communications will be spotty."

"Take care in there, Captain," Bren said as he stepped into view from the right side of the screen. "Good luck on your mission and come back in one piece."

"Aye." Rojac nodded. "Chimera out." He turned back to his chair and took his seat. "Lieutenant Dior, do you have the flight path?"

"Aye sir. The course is plotted and has been forwarded to the Eagle." The young officer reported.

"Captain the Eagle is ready to move out." Jade said looking at her console.

"Take us in. One half impulse." Rojac ordered.
