Mumacik was looking at a certain person through a security
cam. The specified person was Marine Captain Channer Davis
and his occupation was simple. He was sitting on a small
bank … in a brig cell. Mr. Davis looked a bit bruised and
ruffled, Mumacik took is for granted that his encounter with
the ODA team chasing him wasn't a soft one. Mumacik was
not there when Mr. Davis was arrested; he was questioning
Lieutenant Clara Lloyd, UNITY's promenade quartermaster
assistant officer. Both officers were involved in a security
breach in the VIP quarters area. Two of the arresting ODA
members were somewhat bruised as well … and none of the
involved man looked particular happy about the encounter.
None-the-less, Mr. Davis was under arrest and it was
Mumacik's duty as Head of Fleet level security to question
him about the security accident. Lieutenant Lloyd stated
that both of them entered the VIP quarter by mistake and
meant no harm to anyone, having no criminal intentions. She
seemed to be quite unhappy about the whole event.
Mumacik had to agree with the young woman in one point. Such
an investigation (as now performed) would suit her service
record not well. In best case, her next promotion will be
delayed by six months; in case of declared guilty of
criminal intentions she could be degraded or released
without honor from Starfleet.
The case of Marine Captain Channer Davis was similar, but
slight better then for Ms. Lloyd. It was not him who
accessed the VIP quarters with his access codes, so he would
be spared of charge of office-powers misusage. Another issue
of importance was the fact that Mr. Davis was designated to
join the crew of USS Chimera as Chief of security. Such a
security accident would leave a bad shadow over the man who
was supposed to watch over the security of 1st Task Force
Flagg ship.
Walking over to the brig, Mumacik nodded to the two security
guards standing next to the brig (hey, this is a fleet
security area) and asked one to drop down the force field
sealing the brig. Once the force field was down, Mumacik
entered the brig. The force field was reactivated and
Mumacik took place in front of Mr. Davis. Holding a PADD in
his hand, he said: "Marine Captain Channer Davis, I am
Lieutenant Mumacik, Chief of fleet level security. I am here
to question you about the whereabouts of the security breach
in VIP quarters security area. Please notice that anything
you say now will be recorded and can be used against you in
this case. If you wish for the presence of a JAG department
member please state so now"
Before Davis could even answer, Muma's badge went alive:
"Lieutenant, Captain Cropa Rojac, Commanding officer of
USS Chimera is requesting access to Mr. Channer Davis"
Mumacik considered the request. Captain Rojac was Mr.
Davis's commanding officer and until officially charged,
he had the right to be present at the questioning of his
crew member. The rule was clear and was leaving no room for
doubts or questions.
