[USS Chimera] SD 240907.04 | Padassa Station | Joint Log, Cmdr Summers (1TF Med) & Maj Kinn (1TF Intel)

= Padassa Trading Station =

Giella slipped inside the room and saw Rangi in the medical chair. Immediately she deactivated her personal cloaking device and shimmered into view. Lifting up her visor to reveal her face, she quickly hurried over to Rangi and began to undo her restraints.

It was a surprising moment for Rangi when a figure suddenly appeared well inside the room and close to herself. She rubbed her wrists and flexed her fingers whilst her ankles were being freed. " Major Kinn" she said, relieved at seeing the friendly face.

"Commander Summers, are you all right?" Giella said as she helped Rangi out of the chair.

" Yes...I'm fine." Rangi answered glancing back towards the door. " What's going on out there?" she asked " I heard phaser fire."

"We've come to extract you," Giella explained. "Needless to say we ran into some Romulan guards that needed taking care of. What I didn't expect was the amount of Starfleet officers being held captive here. The Romulans have been alerted to what we're up to, and we might have to fight our way out of here. This part of the station seems to be outfitted with transport inhibitors. Are you strong enough to walk and to carry a phaser?"

"Yes, yes I'm fine.. honestly " Rangi replied.

"Good," Giella said as she handed her a spare phaser pistol. "Let's go."

"Wait." Rangi said as Giella turned away. " My son, Martin...do you have him?"

"No," Giella replied. "The rest of the team is still busy searching the station. If he's here we'll find him. We have to get you back to the Detector first; we can decide our next step from there. Don't worry, we'll find him."

"I dont know where he is but Harker took him." Giella was already at the door, quickly scanning left and right before beckoning Rangi forward. They went out into the corridor which was deserted and many of the doors along its length were open. They hurried along, Giella leading the way. She had mentioned the large number of prisoners and despite knowing the treatment the Romulans had handed out, Rangi had hoped that most had been released but the evidence lay
clearly before her, for some of the cells were still occupied, by their dead captives. They were almost at the end of the corridor when Rangi slowed suddenly, her attention caught by two figures lying on the floor inside a cell.

"Wait..please." she said holding up her hand as Giella turned to see what was wrong. Rangi moved slowly to the door then went inside.  A Klingon prisoner lay slumped against the wall but it was the other one who had her attention. She crossed to where he lay and although she said his name. She knew long before she knelt down besdie him, that he was dead. "Liev.." she whispered taking the stiff skeletal hand in hers.

Giella watched Rangi from the doorway for a moment. "Commander, we have to go," she urged her.

Gently, Rangi laid the hand down and loathe to leave him there, got slowly to her feet. It took a moment before she glanced back at Giella then  walked quickly to the door.

When they continued back up the corridor, they were nearly ambushed by two Romulan soldiers at the intersection. Giella fired her pulse phaser at them and indicated that Rangi fall back. "Quick, this way," she said as they rushed the opposite way. They hurred up a short flight of steps and ducked into a terminal alcove.

"Put this on," Giella said as she stripped of the cloaking belt attached to her waist and handed it to Rangi. She removed the recall transporter device strapped to her arm and gave it to Rangi as well.

Rangi clicked the belt in place and attached the device to her left arm where it fitted snugly.

"Follow this corridor..." Giella said. "You'll come to a lift. Go up two levels and exit at the end of a long corridor. Get to the end of it and exit through the large
bulkhead. Once there, activate the device. It will transport you back to the Detector."

Rangi nodded, looking in the direction Giella stated. "You're not coming?" she asked remeeting Giella's gaze.

"Getting you safely back is my priority," she insisted. "I can take care of myself. I don't want to get you killed along the way. I'll cover your back and make sure you're not followed."

"Very well."  Rangi turned away seeing the surroundings now in a pale blue haze, courtesy of the cloaking belt effect.

Giella watched as Rangi shimmered and disappeared. She stayed a moment longer and listened to the footsteps disappear up the corridor, then slipped out of the alcove and headed back down the way they'd come. Rangi ran along the corridor coming striaght to the lift and followed Giellas instructions without any hindrance.
The bulk head was already open and she activated the transportation device immediately.

Her surroundings vanished in a brilliant light and seconds later they rematerialised in a different form. She was in a sickbay and a nurse was standing near her with an armed guard for escort.

"Commander?" she said stepping forward and gave a small smile. "Welcome to Detector."
