= Mess Hall, USS Chimera C =
After the meeting with the CO Jade was planning on to meet with Ian but looking down at her chronometer she noticed that it was around lunch time and that she hadn't had anything to eat since 0600 this morning. Walking into the mess hall Jade picked up some food and a drink and looked around to find a place to sit seeing Lt Kroitzer she walked over to him, "mind if I take a seat?" Jade asked the CEO
Gustav looked up from his meal, a rather bland affair consisting of mainly porridge and said "be my guest Captain".
Jade set her plate of food onto the table and then sat down, "glad to see you back." Jade said smiling remembering working with him on some things when she first joined the Chimera.
"Thank you Captain, I just thought I would grab something to eat and relax a little before my team and I start work on the engines" Gustav said to the Marine Captain while pointing at the bowl of gray slop in front of him.
"I heard the engines and the Chimera as a whole took quite the beating please don't hesitate to call on me if you need a extra hand in the repairs and I'm sure the new Quartermaster is more then willing to give a helping hand." Jade said smiling taking a bite of her summer salad.
"Yup shes in a pretty sorry state at the moment but with some elbow grease she'll be back to her best, she is quite a though ship" he said thinking to him self that they could have come off a whole lot worse.
"She is that." Jade said as she finished her salad, "so how did the stealth armor work out?" Jade asked knowing that it was a pain to attach.
"Really well,I can honestly say that if it wasn't for that then the ship wouldn't have made it out. even though it one of the worst jobs I've ever had to do".
"How have you been keeping?" he asked honestly.
"Better now once the doctors figured out what was going on with me." Jade said not really wanting to go into detail mainly he didn't want to go into detail about the new ability she had gained.
"That's good , hope it wasn't anything serious though" he asked with a concerned look on his face.
"Well one can only hope" he said finishing up his porridge, he then turned to Jade, smiled and said " it's been good to catch up and I'm glad you'll be with us on the next mission but I'm late for a double shift and have to get going".
"That's good , hope it wasn't anything serious though" he asked with a concerned look on his face.
"It could've been but the doctors acted quickly and was able to figure out what was going on." Jade said blushing a little bit seeing that amount of concern coming from the Lt. "I appreciate the concern but it's good to be back aboard her." Jade said referring to the Chimera the only other ship she had served on was the USS Qusaphi (or something like that) and that was with Ian as well but she considered Chimera her home.
"Well we'll be glad to get you back, it gets hard to do your work when all the faces keep changing, it's easier to work with people you know" he said.
"Thanks." Jade said smiling, "I agree I just got done teaching a course on UNITY while you guys were on the mission and we're getting to many green cadets and Ensigns." Jade said not saying that it's a bad thing but more of a concern that they were loosing to many high ranking personnel.
"I know what you mean every time we dock at UNITY some of my more experienced engineers get transferred and I receive more fresh faced recruits, they do OK but I'd rather have the experienced crew any day" Gustav said as he stared into his tea.
"Will hopefully with this new mission we don't have to worry about loosing anyone and that way when we get fresh recruits we have veterans to train them." Jade said.
"Well one can only hope" he said finishing up his porridge, he then turned to Jade, smiled and said " it's been good to catch up and I'm glad you'll be with us on the next mission but I'm late for a double shift and have to get going".
"Alright see you later." Jade said smiling knowing that she needed to go get some rest before her next shift.
