[USS Chimera] SD: 240811.27 Joint Log MCapt. Anya Xerxes/Cmdr. Athena Wellington/Gen. Viktor Ivanov

Anya approached the table at the cafe where the couple were sitting.  She didn't want to interrupt but she needed something to be done something that was so important she couldn't really ask anyone else.  "Hi I hate to interrupt but I need to ask a favour."

Athena looked up and motioned for Anya to join them.
"So what's the favour you want to ask?" Viktor asked as Anya took her seat.

Anya replied "Firstly from Athena could I get you to ask the School on the deck above to stop complaining about the noise coming from the shuttle bay.  Secondly and more importantly I need you General to get me some information on where the Alliance got the idea for the Karaf Fighter Simulation."
Viktor involuntarily gave a wince at the name Anya mentioned and the image of what was buried in a massive cavern under the surface of Charos VI flashed through his head.  From behind Anya came a voice "Perhaps I can help you more with that enquiry than the Hybrid can?" Anya jumped she hadn't even seen the old woman in the white cloak approach.

Athena had nodded at Anya's request for her.  But, froze staring blankly at the woman who had walked silently up to the table behind Anya, instead of reacting to Viktor's uncharacteristic reaction.  {I know her...... she's....that woman on Betazed.}
Athena kept her demeanor the same remembering what Vik had told her about her past beating her.

"It's odd that I should find three of the people connected to The Enemy at the same table."  The old woman pushed back her hood showing the spots running down both sides of her neck.

Viktor spoke up "So should we address you as High Priestess or Lady Tanavia, One of the Five Founders of Spearhead?"
"Liliana will do.  No need for formalities here wouldn't you say Athena?"

"If you don't wish then ... formalities shouldn't be used," Athena answered and finished the drink that was quite full and in front of her.

Lilianna took a seat "You know you remind me quite a bit of your grandmother Athena."

Anya butted in and said "I thought you were going to talk about the Karaf rather than making idle chit chat?"
Lilianna signaled the waiter to bring over some more drinks and as he did so she replied "And you are just as impatient as your mother is."
Anya thumped the table "And what the hell is that supposed to mean?" She yelled.  The awkward silence was broken by the waiter placing the drinks down on the table.
Athena decided to help Anya regroup a bit by saying, "You're not the first to tell me that I remind them of my grandmother.  They usually find that's where the similarities end."  She feigned extreme interest in the drink in front of ignoring the looks that the others at the table gave her.

Anya however was not in the mood for beating around the bush "What makes you think I'm like my mother? What makes you think you even know my mother?"  She grasped her glass tightly enough so her knuckles went white.

Lilianna answered sharply "Because Reyna is my daughter..."
The sound of a glass breaking shattered the stunned silence and Anya stared mutely at the blood dripping from her hand before getting up and storming off from the table. Viktor started to get up but Lilianna's bony hand stalled him "I'll go after her.  I came here to deliver a message to you both."

Athena bit of the question she was about to ask and remained silent waiting for the other shoe to fall.
"And the message?" Viktor asked.

Lilianna sighed "The Enemy is returning and I don't think it will be a scouting party like thirty years ago. The chaos that is about to engulf the galaxy has then at the centre, our Enemy, The Karaf."

The message was cryptic enough for the place that they were in but Athena understood it even if she couldn't explain how she understood it.  {It must have been something I overheard.}  "How can you get away from it .. if it just keeps jumping in your face," She whispered softly to herself.

"Because fate is always one step ahead you can never get away from her."  Viktor answered quietly.

"Can we go," she asked feeling more upset then she would let on at this particular moment.
Viktor nodded. To Lilianna he said as he stood "It's funny but I've heard both Anya and Alecto say this 'Fate is Inexorable'.  I don't believe that and should the Karaf come they will not be unopposed."
