[Ready Room - Deck 1 - USS Chimera-C]
"Well, I guess that's settled." Rojac said aloud, to no one in
particular. He closed the memo he was reading on his desk's user
interface surface and pressed the button on the side to clear the
screen. Commander Summers was to be transferred as the Chimera's Chief
Medical Officer by order of General Kira, head of Starfleet Special
Forces.
The change was quite unexpected. Summers was the Medical Advisor for
taskforce, and a good friend of Rojac's, and long-time partner of
Commodore Guzman; why would she be so quickly and so suddenly
transferred to the chimera, hours before her initial departure?
Perhaps the Commodore would share the reasons for the change in time.
Rojac stood from his desk and walked over to the large viewport. He
gazed out into the large star-field beyond, and saw his reflection
staring back at him in the glass. He was in full dress uniform in
preparation for the bottle-breaking ceremony to take place at the
Chimera's departure. All crew were now aboard, except for Commander
Summers and her last minute position appointments In about two hours,
he would have to report down to the observation area at Docking Pylon
C for the ceremonies, and he had several meetings to partake in before
then as well.
+Ops to Captain Rojac.+ the Captain's combadge came to life.
Cropa reached up to his chest and answered the call. "Rojac here."
+Sir, regarding your request to check the security diagnostics
earlier: apparently there were no errors in the system. Commander
Wellington's restriction of access was legitimate.+
"Really?" Rojac sounded surprised. "On whose orders, and why wasn't I notified?"
The was a slight hesitation on the line. +Uh, from the Judge Advocate
General's office, sir. The matter comes up as classified sir, so I
can't tell you who authorized it.+
Rojac's brow furrowed as he turned away from the window and paced back
towards his desk and switched on the display once more. "Thank you,
ensign." He told the beta-shift bridge officer. "Rojac out." He
quickly accessed the guest list for the send-off ceremony and found
Major Varis Liev, the Taskforce's representative from J.A.G. He was
coming as a guest of Commander Ohmsford. Rojac quickly typed up a
meeting request for prior to the ceremonies and sent it, asking the
Major to come to his office aboard. Then Rojac sent a clearance notice
to the boarding security team, authorizing the visit.
He stood erect, and crossed his arms for a moment before tapping his
combadge once more. "Rojac to Trzetrzelewska."
+Here, Captain.+
"Natalia, some last minute things have come up. I need you and
Commander Wellington to report to the site of the ceremonies to make
sure things run smoothly and get started on time. I will join you as
soon as I can." Rojac reported.
+Understood. Trzetrzelewska out.+
A new, last minute CMO after his previous CMO's husband was attacked
by infiltrators. Four members of the crew were under arrest by his
security department and being held for questioning by Intelligence.
And now his Chief Counsellor has had her access restricted under the
authority of the Judge Advocate General, and Rojac had no idea why.
Rojac missed his days of being a mere Tactical Officer; and that
reminded him that he didn't have one of those right now either.
Oh, the joys of command.
