[USS Chimera] SD 240901.22 || CO Log || Capt Rojac ||

[Bridge - Deck One - USS Chimera-B]

"Lieutenant Reese." Rojac called from his chair in the center of the bridge. He had been tapping the armrest in simulated arpeggios for what seemed like half the day now. He was becoming rather irritated with all the waiting. The lithe bajoran helm officer had taken the Chimera on the patrol route four times now at three-quarter impulse. "Have you received any word from Captain Xerxes yet?"

"No sir." Was the marine officer's reply. "Shall I transmit a message?"

Rojac checked his chronometer as he leaned forward from the back of his plush throne-like chair. The plan had been to give Xerxes six hours of radio silence. It had been five hours and forty-five minutes. "No. That will not be necessary."

Rojac stood up. He legs were growing as tired as his brain from all the sitting and waiting. The Captain crossed his arms and strode over to the science station where Lieutenant Commander Ra-Zerphimi was toiling away on the passive long-range sensors.

"Commander, any luck of your own?" Rojac asked.

"That would have to be a negative... sir." The rather eccentric elaysian officer said. He almost forgot to tack on the formal address on the end of his reply, remembering the XO's warning at the last senior officer's meeting. "Passive scans are not picking up any anomalous readings in the area of the outpost. No plasma trails, no subspace distortions or any of the usual traces of warp or impulse travel. I tried to adjust the scans to compensate for known Romulan detection countermeasures, but the passive scans are not able to provide enough resolution for a reliable scan, at this range."

"Of course." Rojac replied, tapping the arpeggio on his left bicep this time. "Keep an eye out, Commander."

"Aye sir."

Disappointed Rojac strode over to his chair once more to find a message awaiting him on the armrest display. He sat back down, and pulled up the report from Commander Wellington. As he read through it, none of his suspicions were quelled. He still found it very hard to believe that a unificationist would be in the Tal'Shiar. With the organizations long list of operations against the Vulcans, it didn't make since for them to willingly allow one into their ranks.

Then an idea hit him when he read her line that it was as if the prisoner was not of one mind. Perhaps he wasn't. He quickly called down to sickbay to contact Commander Summers. He reply was quick.

+Summers here.+

"Commander," Rojac began, "I need a full DNA and brain scan of the Romulan prisoner in the brig. We need to determine if he is Romulan or not. Please have him sedated and processed by either yourself, or one of your senior officers as soon as possible."

+Understood, sir. Is that all?+

"Yes, Commander. Thank you. Rojac out."

"Captain." Reese called form her station. "Message from Captain Xerxes. The flight has been a success, they are in transit for landing procedures."

"What's their ETA, Lieutenant?"

"At current speed, twenty minutes."

"Good. Have her meet me in the Ready Room as soon as the last fighter is landed." He ordered. "Then begin preparations for stage two. Put security teams on stand-by for scramble. Have helm plot a direct course for a transporter sweep of the station, and double check that Scardona's transporter program is ready to go."

"Aye sir."

Rojac then headed to his office doors to send a quick update to Taskforce Command. It would be a quick read for the Lieutenant Colonel:

Commencing operation.
