Trent remained behind when the TF meeting concluded. He took another
glance over the plans to get more familar with the operation.
"Sir, you wanted to see me," Lieutenant Bannister said as he stood at
the entrance of the room.
"Yes, lieutenant. Would you have Commander Trzetrzelewska meet me here
in the next half hour?" Trent asked as he kept his attention to the
plans on the screen next to him.
"She just tried to contact you, sir," Bannister said.
"Very well. Have her meet me here in the next half hour," Trent said.
"Aye, sir," the marine said as he gave a sharp salute before exiting the
room.
Twenty minutes later, Trent saw Bannister return, followed by the
former Chimera XO.
"Thank you, lieutenant," Trent said as his returned his focus to the
operation plans. "You may leave us."
When Bannister exited for the second time, Trent looked up again.
"Commander, I'm sure you've talked with Captain Rojac by now about
your new command," Trent said.
"Yes, sir," Natalia replied with a firm nod. "As you can see, I
haven't even had the time to change into uniform since I've gotten
back from leave."
Trent allowed a slight grin. This was new for him and perhaps one of
the few perks of his job.
"I've gone over your records and this is a well deserved promotion,"
Trent said, walking over to Natalia and extending his hand.
"Congratulations."
Natalia took the offered hand and returned the firm shake. "Thank you, sir."
"As you know, the Rapier is undergoing repairs. But we can still make
this thing official," Trent said. "Computer, hand over all command
codes to the U.S.S. Rapier, NCC 61582, to Commander Natalia
Trzetrzelewska, authorization Captain Trent Rodgers, executive
officer, 1st Starfleet Special Forces Taskforce."
[Transfer Acknowledged]
"The Rapier is yours commander ... or should I say captain."
"That will take some getting used to," Natalia smiled.
