OOC: Takes place post-time skip

*** Medical Facilities * Outer Ring* SB Unity ***

"We can certainly do that." Rangi agreed "...but the last time I spoke to Commander Rodgers he said there had been a slight delay, though he assured me it wouldnt be for long."

She was speaking to T'Vel as the two doctors enjoyed a brief break from duty in one of the observation bays which from this side, gave a view of the central hub. The infirmary which stretched over five decks, was still under repair and the medical teams were frustrated at the length of time it was taking to reconstruct damaged areas.

Working from the civilian medical centres on the outer ring was not ideal, given the number of patients they had to deal with.

"They always say that." a voice behind them stated and Rangi turned her head. "Scott!" she exclaimed "...what are you doing here?" She turned to face him with a warm smile which he returned.

"T'Vel.." he said in greeting to the Vulcan then answered Rangis question. "I needed some exercise and before you say it....no I'm not over doing it."

"Lieutenant," T'Vel greeted him with a slight nod. "How are your injuries?"

"I'm almost  a hundred percent." he replied and indeed he gave little sign of the trauma he had endured.

He had vacated Chimera-B in one of the last pods leaving the ship, accompanied by two others. He remembered  watching the ship receding and seeing the
battle raging around them. He remembered the automated voice telling them they were entering the planets atmosphere then after that....nothing.

He had no recollection of the Romulan fighter lining up a shot or of the explosion that told of its end a split second after it had fired. He knew nothing of the pod absorbing the fleeting strike  or of the fall thousands of feet to the ground where it impacted into a shallow sea. killing his both of his companions and almost himself.

He knew nothing of the rescue by Aeran settlers or later of the trip aboard the Qashqai when his life hung on a thread. He knew only that he woke up in a brightly lit room about a week later feeling smashed and weakened.

"Come to see the sights?" Rangi asked, pointing to the hub. "We are told yet again deck four will be ready 'in a day or so'."

"Perhaps they were referring to a day on Aeran I," T'Vel quipped. "Which is significantly longer than Earth or Vulcan days."

Scott and Rangi laughed. " There might be an element of truth in that." he said. "...but seriously, how's it going? What's the hold up this time?"

"Where would you like to start?" Rangi answered dryly but her explanation was halted before it began when her commbadge chirruped and a junior engineer requested a moment of her time.

"Excuse me a second?" she said turning to T'Vel and Scott then walked a few steps away so that both conversations could continue without interruption.

"If you have a moment, lieutenant, I would like to examine you," T'Vel said to Scott. "You have not yet made a follow-up appointment to your previous examination."

"Umm..ok" Scott replied and giving Rangis figure a quick glance looked back at T'Vel and said : "I'd like a word with you too."

"Yes?" T'Vel asked, raising an eyebrow. She suspected it was about something Scott didn't want Rangi to know about just yet. "I'm listening," she said a bit quieter.

With another surrepticious glance at Rangi, Scott seized his chance. "I'd like to get back on duty."  he said speaking more quickly than usual and using the same tone as T'Vel. "...even if its just part shifts. I know I'm fit enough for that at least....will you make the reccomendation?"

"I can only make a recommendation if you meet the minimum physical duty requirements," T'Vel stated matter-of-factually, clasping her hands behind her back and
looking him up and down. "But from what I observe you seem able to hold a tricorder, so I believe you are fit for light duty."

"Excellent." Scott said, pleased that his request was already half way filled.

"I'm wanted over on the hub. " Rangi said as she walked towards them but gave them a slightly questioning look. T'Vel was as unreadable as always but Scotts expression was just a little too 'ordinary' to be real.

"T'Vels just going to do a follow up exam." he said matter of factly.

"Really....." Rangi said supiciously.

"I suspect Dr Fisher's health has improved," T'Vel said in response. Not because she wanted to convince Rangi, but because Scott clearly looked better than the last time she'd examined him.

"Ok." Rangi replied "..well I'll be over there if you need me..deck three. Take care of yourself Scott....dont over do it."

He nodded in reassurance that he had no such intention. "I hope you make progress." he replied.

"Please follow me this way, lieutenant," T'Vel said, indicating down the corridor toward the civilian medical suites where they were currently housed.
They walked away together and Rangi set off in the opposite direction but gave a glance back over her shoulder.

{ No...} she told herself { T'vel wont pass him fit unless he is....He shouldnt have chosen a Vulcan to appeal to }
