[USS Chimera] SD 240811.3 - AMO's Log - Ensign Karishma Padmini (AMO)

=/\=Medical Sickbay =/\= Suddenly, an alarm began to blare, capturing Karishma's attention as she was presently tending to a patient who had burns that covered the entirety of her right forearm.  Someone's piercing shriek that Sickbay had been breached and immediately several of the other AMOs had begun moving the other patients to the escape pods.  The patient eyed her with a nervous expression fixed on her blanched face. "W-What is going on?" She stammered, her eyes now scanning the length of Sickbay.  Karishma glanced over her shoulder towards the CMO and the Head Nurse who were engaged in an argument of some sort before turning her attention back to the patient.  Quickly, she set the patient's arm down and rolled the woman's sleeves of her uniform down to her wrist. "We need to get out of here. That is what is going on." Karishma replied in a curt tone though lacking any rudeness.  The patient's dark eyes widened and immediately Karishma was bombarded by fear.  Daggers of pain and fear filled her mind but in retaliation, she attempted to combat it.  Seizing the woman's left arm, she wound it around her neck and stood immediately, attempting to lift the woman up. "W-W-Where are you taking me?" The patient stammered once more, her eyes still wide with fear.  The woman's strong emotions assailed her once more as she finally managed to lift her up to her left leg albeit her right leg was injured. "To an escape pod, as soon as possible. Now you need to help me here, Kimberly. We have to get to out of here right now and quickly, too." Karishma responded firmly, attempting to move as fast as she could. "Got it?"  She wrapped her arm around the patient's waist and held the patient to her as she began to move, taking one brisk step after another.  Leaving the room, she waltzed down the hall towards the turbolift which arrived promptly. "Computer, where are the nearest escape pods located?" She inquired in a loud voice. [The escape pods are located on Deck 16.] The Computer responded almost immediately. "Deck 16 it is." She simply replied.  The familiar hum of the turbolift announced that it was in motion and before ten seconds could pass, she was walking the patient down the hall in search of the escape pods.  At one point, she came to a part of the hall where one part branched off to the right whereas the other branched off to the left. "Duvohs!"She muttered to herself in Kriosian then spoke in a loud voice. "Computer!" [The computer system is not on line at this time.] "Guess we are on our own." She mumbled once more before proceeding down the right corridor with the patient in tow.  As she meandered down the hallway, she took notice of something that resembled an escape pod terminal.  Holding on tighter to the patient, she hurried down the hall as best as she could without worsening the patient's condition. "Hahs-nohs?" She muttered once they reached the terminal. "Yes, these are escape pods all right." Within a matter of seconds, she pressed the buttons adequate to both activate the pod and to open the entrance portal to it.  "Hold on Kimberly." Karishma ordered as she walked through the portal and into the escape pod.  Gently, she set the woman in the chair and strapped her in tightly before settling into a chair of her own. "Now without delay…let's get out of here!" Karishma exclaimed as she tapped the controls on the control panel, the locks suddenly releasing the escape pod and spewing it into space.  As the escape pod floated away from the ship, she sighed, shaking her head at the idea of deserting the ship.  She then looked to Kimberly who was shivering. "It will be all right." She spoke softly with sympathy before securing herself into the seat. =/\=Escape Pod=/\=
