[USS Chimera] SD: 240901.14 Unity Duty Log 2ndLt.Nyx

Mnemosyme sat at a table over her lunch reading over the notes on her new case.  She shook her head a bit as she thought about what she wanted to put in her mandated report and what she wanted to try herself.  She pushed away her half eaten sandwich and drummed her fingers beside her glass of cola.  She loved how she could split the screen on her new padd between the file she wanted to reference and the report she was writing.

RE: Lt. Dennis Lapin

Mr. Lapin is a transfer from the USS Artemis form the Engineering department.  He is suffering from a case of amnesia.  His amnesia showed up after his ship was engaged by the Romulans.  DNA and blood tests proved that the lieutenant was not only the engineer he was believed to be but that he was also human as his medical files indicate.  No longer fearing that the engineer might be a Romulan spy; his medical treatment was started.

On board the USS Artemis his wounds that seemed as if they were torture induced were treated and have heeled nicely.  The low doses of fetalbenzenate have seemed to recall most of his memories before the last 6 months, however the last 6 months are still nonexistent for the lieutenant.  Cadet Luke Carmichael has implemented the continuation of the lowest dose of the fetalbenzenate in conjunction with a daily half hour session where she chats with Lt. Lapin about whatever he desires.

As Mr. Carmichael has been working with Mr. Lapin I'm going to use the assumption that a trust bond has been formed between the two.  I'm going to implement a slight increase to the medication as it has been successful so far and continue with the daily counseling sessions, only making them a bit longer and with a more directive theme in the hopes of jogging loose more memories.

I believe the Lieutenant's amnesia stems from a protective measure by is own brain.  In other words, his brain is keeping him a stat of amnesia to protect himself.

Nym sighed as she closed the reference file and moved on to the next report.  She took a sip of cola and then another.  {I'd rather run 10 miles than write this next stupid report} she thought as a miserable expression seeped into her facial features.

RE: Issues with Authority

In reviewing my file, I found no reason for you to believe that I have any issues with authorities.  However, since you seemed dissatisfied with me, I will endeavor to work more within the realm of your box so as to not rock the boat so to speak.  Please continue to enjoy the perfect society of your tank as I work through my issue(s).

Nym wasn't even sure what her boss wanted, but her lone wolf status seemed to howl send it.  Actually as far as things went this was the closest thing she had ever done that remotely even resembled insubordination.  She closed her eyes and the headache that was beginning instantly went away.  She opened her eyes and hit the send button.  She looked at her remaining sandwich but didn't pull it towards her to finish.  Somehow she just didn't feel hungry anymore.
