[USS Chimera] SD 240908.13 | Padassa | Joint Log, RAdm Guzman & Maj Kinn

[ Quorum Space - Padassa Station ]

"to'H! Tu'joQ!" Giellera shouted at a group of Klingon
guards as she Sergeant Alter made their way past them into
the docking section. They'd been making obscene remarks
about her shapely figure as she had approached them, and she
quickly informed them that if they'd like to keep their
manhood intact, they should shut up. They just laughed
rudely but said no more and Giella smiled to herself,
knowing the message had gotten through. She wondered what
her mother would say if she knew her youngest daughter was
staying on a station filled with Klingon men.

When she arrived at the large docking bay entrance,
Commodore Guzman and his entourage were already waiting.
"Sir," she greeted him with a brief nod, noting he looked a
little paler than usual.
Shane was still a bit affected by the gagh-sickness, but
feeling well enough to perform his duties. When Major Kinn
informed him about the arrival of the Quorum Ambassador, he
immediately confirmed his presence and made himself on the
way. His two guards were following him – like always.
Meeting the Major at the large docking bay entrance, Shane
smiled at the woman and nodded back: "Good day, Major".

The large airlock doors opened and a slender figure of
indeterminate gender with pale skin and equally pale hair
stepped through them. "Greetings," he said and bowed his
head slightly forward. "It is honourable pleasure to be in
presence of you. We owe thanks to your liberation."
As rank highest officer present, it was Shane's prerogative
to speak first. He nodded to the person in front of him and
replied: "The honor is all ours Ambassador. All Federation
citizens are happy that another race has been fried from
occupation and slavery and personally I am happy that our
forces could lend a hand in this event"

"Oh, I be not ambassador," the figure said, shaking his pale
head. "I be Interpreter Hudra. This is Ambassador Sa'Kara."
He stepped back and held out an arm. From behind him a very
large and tall figure floated out of the airlock and came to
stand in front of them. Wearing an encounter suit, the
Quorum ambassador towered out above them all.

Sa'Kara turned his head towards the Ru'Bazean interpreter,
who then said, "Ambassador Sa'Kara says 'hello'."
Somewhat surprised about the real Ambassador and him wearing
an encounter suit, Shane signaled his guards not to be
alarmed. Then he smiled at the Ambassadorial figure and
said: "Good day, Ambassador. I am Rear Admiral Shane Guzman
and" motioning towards Kinn, "this is Major Kinn from
Starfleet Special Forces. We are happy to meet a
representative of the Quorum"

Giella inclined her head to the tall Ambassador. "As you are
aware the Klingon Empire was key in helping us liberate the
station from the Romulans. As a result, many of their troops
are on the station as a security measure, but we have
cordoned of a wing of the station especially for Quorum
personnel and prepared it for your visit, should you wish to
stay onboard." She was a bit surprised at her own diplomacy,
but then again one of an Intel officer's best skills was
knowing how to act the part.

"We thank you," Interpreter Hudra said with a brief nod.
"Ambassador Sa'Kara likes to refresh and wait for Klingon
representative before meeting start."

Shane nodded towards the Ambassador and said: "Of course,
Ambassador Sa'Kara. One of my guards will lead you to your
rooms. If I may advise, we are still in a war territory and
for your own safety I suggest you employ some bodyguards for
the duration of your stay here"

"We take your advise to heart," Interpreter Hudra said with
a nod before ushering the ambassador from the room.

As the Ambassador and the Interpreter left the room, Shane
turned to Kinn and said: "So far, so good. Let's hope the
Klingon Ambassador will be the same civilized. What do you
know about him?"

"His name is Commander Kortag'h," Giella replied. "Some time
ago he served in a Klingon/Federation officer exhange
program. The word from Ambassador Torres is that he's
sympathetic towards the Federation, but a highly respected
member of his House, which holds some sway with the
Council."

"Well," Shane said, "we have to act fast, because I will
return to UNITY once General Sharpe and his troops will
arrive. I fear that I find Captain Rodgers buried under all
the paperwork that he has to do in my absence and I will
have to do quite some explanations to high ups about me
being in the enemy territory – it's better not to delay it
too much"

The major nodded. "Of course, sir. I expect to arrive no
later than tomorrow, although Klingons can tend to keep to
their own time schedules. You left Unity in good hands."

"Not that I don't trust Captain Rodgers, but he's new in
the job and he's always been a front line man … not a desk
bound clerk. I wouldn't wonder much to learn that he
seized a ship and flew with the forces designed for Magna"

"I've yet to meet a good SSF officer who likes to sit behind
a desk," she smiled. "The new recruits seem especially eager
to see action."

"Speaking about new officers, you have performed very well
in your duties since Commander Harbrights death. I've been
talking with SSF Command about a proper Intel advisor
shortly … and came to the conclusion that that best
candidate for the job is … you. If you feel up for this
task Major … of course"

Giella nodded firmly. "Certainly, sir. I would be honoured
to accept."

Shane smiled: "That fine, because I already made all
necessary arrangements before I left The Qashqai. Your new
position is now among the most important in task force and
now you are officially a full member of 1st Task Force
Command staff. Just like myself … I want you to employ
guards all the time you are not in your quarters, we can not
allow to loose you."

"Of course, Admiral. I'll make the necessary arrangements."

"Another point" Shane said, "I've been informed by Admiral
Janeway that some kind of para-military special unit is
heading our way. They operate outside the traditional chain
of command and answer to you directly. I want you to check
out this team when they will report to you and let them know
that under 1st Task Force command we won't tolerate
violations of Federation laws"

"Yes, sir," Giella replied. She found it strange that such a
unit would be deployed under her, but considering 1TF's
strategic position and the recent compromise of several deep
cover agents, perhaps a special military unit was not such a
bad idea. "I'll make sure they play by the rules."

Shane nodded: "Very well then, Major. I trust all will go
well here. I've been told that Commander Ohmsford along with
some other Task Force members is heading here. If you seen
him first, please relay him to me immediately. I have a
matter of important I must clear with him upon his arrival."

"I'll make a note of it, sir," Giella replied. "Will you be on the Qashqai?"

Shane nodded again: "Thank you, Major. Do you have anything
to discuss for today?"

"That's all, sir," she smiled. "I'll let you know if anything comes up."
