[USS Chimera] SD 240908.15 || Joint Log || Capt Rojac (CO), Maj Cortez (CSec), & LtMaj Shao (MEF Platoon CO) ||

[Transporter Room 1 - Deck 4 - USS Chimera NCC 96899-C]

Captain Cropa Rojac and Major Richard Cortez stood in front of the transporter stage awaiting the arrival of LtMajor Dare Shao. Operation had finished preparing Cargo Bay three and now it was a fully stocked Marine Barracks awaiting the arrival Shao's team.

"The Major is reporting ready for transport, Captain." The transporter chief informed the Captain.

"Thank you, Chief." Rojac said. "Energize."

The blue swirls of the transporter faded and the tall Lieutenant Major got her first look at the Chimera.  She was alone, her platoon and the team she was taking onto the Romulan base were still preparing themselves.  She was here to ensure everything was ready for them.  She stepped off the transporter padd and stopped in front of what was obviously the Captain.
She saluted him sharply, her face expressionless.

"Lieutenant Major Shao, welcome aboard the USS Chimera." Rojac said.

Richard blinked as the  Ka`Leigh materialzed in front of him.  He had never met one of her species before and was amazed at how white, almost porcelain like her skin was.  He nodded his head in agreement. "Greetings", he added.

The salute dropped and she nodded a greeting to both men as her eyes took in her surroundings, memorizing each and every detail.  It was habit, working out an escape route to every room she entered.

"I am Captain Cropa Rojac, and this is my Chief of Security Major Richard Cortez. He will be your liasion to the ship for the duration of your mission aboard the Chimera." Rojac said. "He will also be  leading the demolitions team during our upcoming mission."

Cortez spoke up, "If your team needs anything, please don't hesitate to ask me", he said.

Finally, she spoke.  "Use of your holodecks would be greatly appreciated. There is only so much weapons training my people can do before we damage your cargobay beyond repair."  She offered them a small smile.  "Also, any and all infomation regarding this base that you may have.  If this is to work, my team needs to know exactly whats going on."

Rojac couldn't help but smile at the curtness of the Ka'Leigh. "Holodeck Three on deck 10 will be set aside for your squad's needs." Rojac said. "But as for the base itself - there is not a lot of information I can give you. We will be the first ones there. The only data we have been able to collect is the throngs of traffic coming to and from the Stellar Nursery." Rojac said. "I can say more at the briefing after we depart. You are welcome to attend Major."

Dare inclined her head.  "We will peruse that infomation then and I shall attend your meeting."  While they discussed the platoon, she was already going over tactics in her mind.

Cortez chimed in,  "There is one thing I need from you Major", he began, "I will need an accurate roster of your team forwarded to my office, as well as any special needs they may have",  he paused for a second,  "Any weapons that they want to bring on-board must be cleared by me first, I know how operators can sometimes take liberties with their gear", he
smirked.  "I also must ask you and your team to familiarize yourself with the rules onboard the Chimera, I would hate to have to place any of your team in the brig until we reached our destination", he licked his lips, "If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask".  He added.

Dare turned her gaze to Cortez, her iris-less eyes burning holes in him. She'd forgone the contacts today, she was sick of the iritation.  "I have already logged the roster for my team.  You will need to check your computer system for it.  But from experience, I know Federation paperwork can take its time."  She just about sneered the word Federation despite working for them.  "We have no need for you to clear anything," she continued.  "I will send you a list of what equipment my team is bringing with them, but we will not wait around for you to clear it.  Anything we bring, we'll need.  No if, buts or maybes."

It was not easy for her to speak Federation basic and she sounded more formal than usual.  "The rules of this ship will not be needed, either. There will be no interaction between my team and the crew of Chimera.  I will not allow my team to be distracted by non-combantants such as your crew."  She knew she sounded petulant, but she didn't care.  She had her orders and she couldnt let anyone interfer with those orders.  She also had over 100 years on combat experience, she certainly wouldn't be letting anyone think they could just order her around.

Cortez smiled.  He'd dealt with people like her before.  Just another hot shot dike overcompensating for her lack of testosterone.  He glanced at the Captain and then back at the female standing in front of him.  "I'm sorry, but my directions are not open for debate Major", Richard said matter of factly.  "Your equipment will be inspected before it is allowed onboard, as the security of this ship and the safety of its crew is my foremost concern", he continued, "Unless that is the Captain deems it not necessary", he looked at Rojac wondering if he was going to back him up or give in to the alien.

"I'm sorry Major Shao, it is protocol. I assure you, Major Cortez is much more reasonable and expedient than UNITY security." Rojac said. "But do me a favor, Lieutenant Major. Do not refer to my crew as non-combatants. Many of this ship's crew sacrificed their lives in the Battle of Aeran III - the first battle of this war - and since then the Chimera has been the ship with the most combat time against Romulan and Breen threats. We may not be wearing green, Major, but we've seen battle countless times and survived. Like it or not, we are all Special Forces - and we must work together on this mission."

"I may not be your commanding officer, but when you are on my ship - you follow my rules or you get off." Rojac said. "I would hate to tell General Sharpe you weren't able to complete your mission because you couldn't play nice with the other marines." The Captain turned to Major Cortez, "Show her to the cargo bay. We depart in two hours."

"Right this way", Cortez said as he held out his hand in the direction of the cargo area.  "On our way there I'll show you where holodeck 3 is", he grinned almost mockingly, "and if your real good I might even let you push the button in the turbolift".
