Mimi talked to herself as she busied herself with her preparations. "I can't believe it we're living in the same place and Our schedules have been so totally off lately. He's coming in after I'm asleep and I'm slipping out after he's asleep." She pulled a basket from the bottom of her closet and found a nice plaid throw that they could spread out and sit on. She placed it in the bottom of the basket and moved on to the next thing on her list.
"Chicken salad sandwiches," she continued to herself and placed them in the basket. Dried apricots went into the basket next. "Stupid stupid evaluations.... well ... maybe they aren't stupid; but this getting up early to evaluate those that work the opposite shift is for the birds," she complained to the room itself. Champagne flutes with sparkling cider were next in the basket that was beginning to become quite full. "Cider will have to due since we both have to work." Chips and some cupcakes finished filling the basket.

Athena walked into the lift and requested the desired floor. The lift took off smoothly and then shortly into her ride it shuddered. "Oh, Great," the senior counselor said in disgust. She leaned against the back wall of the lift and tried to get in touch with an engineer, but it became painfully obvious that the engineer she was talking to was one of the new recruits that she and the captain had mentioned during their meeting. "Ok," she started talking to the walls around her, "so, being stuck in a lift is low priority at this point and I might get helped in about four hours." She looked up seeing the emergency escape {I guess we should check those out too.}

"Gustav, it was really good of you to provide such interesting lighting for our lunch," Mimi said as she began to pick up the remnants from their picnic. "I'm glad you like those cupcakes and I can't imagine where that last one disappeared," she mentioned as she packed the flutes into the basket. {I bet he ate it.} He helped her fold up the blanket and placed it in the basket before kissing her good bye and getting back to work.
As Mimi walked out she heard Gustav say quite loudly,"Cadet!"
A chocolate cherry cup cake with double fudge icing went flying at the cadet's surprise and no one knew where it ended up.
=/\=Meanwhile.... A Turbolift Shaft =/\=
Athena looked up and decide to get rid of her tunic. {Climbing will be easier without that heavy bit of material.} She took off the combadge and attached it to her tank top and then dropped the tunic back to the lift floor through the trap door. She gave a jump catching the rung of the ladder closest to her and began her upward climb. However, most of the openings it seemed for the floor were on the adjacent walls. She'd climbed up about 7 or 8 feet until she reached a spot where she was even with what she felt was the first floor opening. She tried to reach for it but wasn't tall enough. She sighed and then took the small jump that was required and hoped she caught hold of the opening.
Her right hand caught the opening while the left missed and she gasped as she struggled to get her left hand in place. TINK.....TInk..... tink... She looked down following the seemingly rapid decent of her com badge until she could no longer see it or hear it. {I can't believe it fell right past the lift.} She huffed and puffed as she pulled herself into the opening using her toes when necessary to help lift herself up. She took a deep breath in as all of her body finally seemed to be on firm ground, but it was short lived as she sudden slide downward a few feet before hitting a plateau.
=/\= Meanwhile.... Some place else ... A Corridor =/\=
{I don't think eating two of those cup cakes where good for me} Mimi thought as she walked down the corridor. {I feel a bit off.} She blinked her eyes and shook her head waiting for things to come back into focus. {I think a strong cup of tea might be good.} Mimi took a few more steps and then stumbled into the wall as she felt a twang of pain in her right side. She took a couple of deep breaths before continuing on down the hall.
Mimi felt another sharp pain on her right and dropped the basket she was carrying. She took another step and then another before falling an inch or so into the wall and sliding down it to the floor unconscious.

Athena wiped the sweat from her brow with her hand; not that it did much good. {Why do these things always have to be so hot ... and cramped.} She rolled her shoulders and then tried her neck. Bang! "Damn, that hurts," she said as she rubbed the back of her head. With a frustrated sigh, she asked to the thinning air, "Does this tube ever lead out?"
She'd been heading to where she thought she saw a light but all of a sudden the tube took another steep down, leaving Athena tumbling to a sudden stop. {Is this the end} she thought as everything went dark.

~~Sir, Commander Wellington is missing. When last heard from she was stuck in a lift .... but her combadge ended up in disposal area. Also, Ensign Hopeler was found unconscious. We are performing without a counseling department at this time. ~~
